the unseen challenges of being an autistic + pda university student - a slam poem

This is a slam poem I wrote after having been asked to use my voice to express some of the challenges of being an autistic + pda university student for an ACoRNS (Autistic Community Research Network Sussex) event. It's come frm the very depths of me and encompasses 2 years worth of trauma, emotions and frustrations that I've experienced throughout my time at university.
Through publishing this video, I'm hoping to be a voice for others who maybe feel similarly but who have not found the words to express this, or who know the words but have been pushed away by the institution's neoliberal rigidity that in its very depths is intrinsically ableist and discriminatory. I'm here to say that we autistic individuals matter, we deserve to have our voices heard and we deserve to have our needs met.
