Between killing monsters with a lazer tag pistol and the dog controlling everything with a machine, Silent hill is just one great big secret amusement park XD
oh my god the Nostalgia is killing me with this one, i've completed this game more than 10 times and i still remember getting all the endings and secret weapons without cheats, back in 99 there was a weekly or monthly magazine with full guides how to get all the endings, such a fun time..Masterpiece game. first time i heard about this game was in 98/99, my friend told me " come come look at Resident Evil 1.5" 🤣
I unlocked all these weapons back then when I was playing it and I played this game countless times. I remember that katana was useless, it always missed the enemy and you actually get hit more by the dogs and dolls than killing them. Handgun is actually far better in my memory
Talking about melee weapons, chainsaw and katana are cool, but, as shown in the video, they're not so powerful (at least chainsaw) and enemies can hurt Harry by using them. Between rock drill, katana, and chainsaw, I do choose rock drill, because, it has physics, it keeps the enemy away, and doing some damage, as a plus.
I remember the Chainsaw was a reference to Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Evil Dead, while the Rock Drill was a reference to Dusk to Dawn when Seth Gecko used a Rock Drill to kill Mexican Vampires
The Hyper Blaster would be updated as the Hyper Spray in SH2, and would return full time in Homecoming, often regarded as the franchise's weakest entry (though I actually do enjoy it a fair bit).
Exactly. To be fair, the combat system changed by the fact that Alex is a soldier, so, he is the only main Character who knows how to fight. Everyone else made their way as best as possible. (Besides, Yamaoka's terrific music helps a lot)
There's likely better tutorials available elsewhere, but I can give a quick rundown: - The font style is just "Times New Roman." - There is a minor pixelization effect applied both vertically and horizontally. - There is a 3-color linear gradient applied: dark grey at the top and bottom, and silver/light grey in the middle (I don't have the specific values offhand, but I just used an eyedropper/color sampler feature to copy the colors from a screenshot of the game's text). - I counted the frames from the original game, wherein text appears at (if memory serves correctly) two characters per frame. Then I would count how many characters were in my sentence, and set a mask to uncover the text from left-to-right in roughly the same number of frames. - The text then fades out utilizing the same counting frames method. Hopefully that can be of some help!
If memory serves me correctly, the font I used here is actually just a bold Times New Roman! Then there's a minor pixelization effect applied alongside a color gradient.
I played all games Sh1 is mysterious, creepy, enigmatic. I fell in love with it and I played it countless times in 1999 until early 2000s Sh2 has the best story.. dark, deep, melancholic. Sh3 has the creepiest environment, and also the best protagonist in the series SH4 has the best gameplay, very good characters and story, my most favorite actually
wow~ ⊙o⊙ the hidden weapons are bloody COOOOOOLLLLL... and, I truly wish you can share the save files for my satisfaction in the PS1 emulator😁😁 BTW, thx 4 shareing such a nice viedo for all of us who loving these more-than-2-decades old fasioned games. CHEERS
The track from the beginning is "Otherside" from the original Silent Hill soundtrack, composed by Akira Yamaoka. The second song, beginning at 7:18, is "Harry is Gone!" from the same OST.
I dont get why Silent Hill is the obly franchise that isn't revived. Capcom has brought back Resident Evil. Nintendo and Sony are both bringing back their old game. Even Konami has brought back MGS.
I never understood why someone would finish the Silent Hill games more than once, as if playing it once didn't scare the crap out of you. Like, how many times do you want to loose sleep before it is enough?
Much like the RE games, the first playthrough is about overcoming your fear. The second playthrough is about revenge. It kind of negates the tense memories by allowing you to breeze through follow up playthroughs

Love the style of your video editing.
To be honest Harry’s a lot scarier when he lunges with the katana!
even the monsters were afraid of Harry
Ninja!
That katana was op

Yeah amazing games the second one is by far my favorite, and i first played it only recently too
It's weird how the game was made by konami's bottom of the barrel worst performers, they bundled them in a team and they made this game
This was an Excellent video Thank you so much. It was simple, direct, segmented and with clear and short information to read.
Well done. Really appreciate the work that went into it and I like the editing.
The Katana is so awesome it kinda makes walking to your destination pointless - *Harry quite literally can SWING his way to it*.

@@CrystalCollector-g4n I'll just leave this classic here - watch?v=yUONUTbBawo
Thank you so much for this lovely and very detailed presentation! I loved this game
Thank you for showing these! I need these for my SH1. Best weapons.

And the katana is a reference to the fact they're Japanese and can't help themselves
Very nice!
Silent Hill 1 has an over-the shoulder camera(hidden one) way before other games used it.
The Hyper Blaster would be updated as the Hyper Spray in SH2, and would return full time in Homecoming, often regarded as the franchise's weakest entry (though I actually do enjoy it a fair bit).

I remember my reaction...
Me: _"a katana! Wow!!"_
Harry: _(wields the sword like an idiot)_
Me: _"oh my...this is terrible"_
Hyper Blaster is like RE4 mechanic before RE4 even launched also before Winback released on N64
Silent Hill 1 has an over-the shoulder camera(hidden one) way before other games used it.
@@SonySupporterdude this is not over the shoulder lol it has fixed camera angles
Re4 is a full on 3rd person camera
@@visored5179 It's over the shoulder camera. You can move it with L2.
So the dog from the Levin St. doghouse became the katana, swing it repeatedly and it sounds like a barking dog 😂.
Need a bury the light edit of Harry with the katana lol.
Rock drill is more effective against stationary enemies than the chainsaw
the best thing of the lazer gunn is the auto aim and the infinite ammo, i remenber the thing in the air when i shot before i can see it
Its weak as a handgun but better than handgun
Nice video
Could you do something similar for SH2?
How did you get the Silent Hill font letter?
Great video, how do you created the text effect, like is there a tutorial ?

I remember I used to play this game on my PS1
Thanks
the rock drill is better than the chainsaw
Whats the font you are using? :O Can't tell if its actually the same font SH1 used or very similiar!

came to the gas station for nothing since there was nothing there and ive never entered that place

4:42 As far as I know, just getting bad+ is enough to unlock the katana
Dame I never know Hyper was different color
Dammit I never unlocked the katana

Konami has express intrest to revive Silent Hill and with Silent Hill 2 remake succeeded against all odds, it's surely back
C’mon that’s not how the monsters sound when they are killed 😅 is it?!?
Nope they sound like that😅
the katana is the best melee weapon
