Leaving the tipper in bare metal is a good idea because that's the way these things are in real life. Nice paint work. Can't wait to see how you incorporate 3D printing with some of your future custom restorations.
Funny thing Juan; maybe it's the paint, maybe the lighting, but these two don't look like super-shiney, freshly restored vehicles. They look kinda like pristine originals. I 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑘 that's a good thing. We see so much "spectraflame" and other fancy paints being used, it's nice to get some plain, opaque colours and the look really suits these two. The hook looks better than an original, chunky, Matchbox one too. Great job!!👍👌😁
Thanks a lot Dougie. To get that finish I actually use a can of cheap clear lacquer and I only put one coat. That way they are not that shiny. All the best mate
The tipper looks spot-on. On the actual vehicles, the tipper body at the back was very often left in bare metal because that's the bit that takes all the abuse so why bother painting it? The crane reminds me of a company based in or around Droylsden near Manchester in the 70's when I lived there as a kid. The company was called "Grayston" and they had all manner of heavy plant and machinery. We used to see their orange and green cranes driving past our school on the main road (Manchester Road).

So far I'm learning a lot. We also make silicon molds to replicate parts.... That is gonna be really convenient too. Cheers Luc
