I was working in an Electronics Boutique around this time, they really were trying to push Edutainment titles above games at the time. Drive me nuts all the shelf space we had to give up for this stuff that just rotted on shelves.
For those of us too poor to afford internet computers in 1994, thankfully Eurotrash had started around the same time on Channel 4. And quite frankly judging by the first part of this video, what was on offer on Eurotrash was far more, erm, satisfying. Just make sure you sat with a cushion on your lap and your finger hovering above the BBC 1 button on the remote control. "Erm, hi dad, yes I was just watching this programme on, erm, the.....the....the.....state of the Japanese economy. The bloody state of the yen these days! No, I've no idea why the video player is recording, nothing to do with me". Thank you Lolo, and Eva Henger (that Eurotrash 'Eurovision Special' episode - no idea how that segment on her music video got so fuzzy from definitely not repeated views of the taped-off-the-TV VHS I definitely didn't record)
Anyone else feel shame that they dont pay the paltry amount of £3 a month to get Stuarts content way before it goes on You tube? I cant even use the excuse I cant afford it, Im just cheap and feel a small sense of victory every time one of these hard grafted videos drops. Im not proud of myself
@@80srenaissance67 Yep. To be fair, the title of the program told you to do just that. And also the boot kicking in the screen. The 80s were strange. I think that's why the older generation (45 plus) are often more resilient. Dunno, that could just be me talking sh**e.
Worth noting, when the backside fell out of the arcade market in the US, the Namco arcade in Universal studios was shunted off to a smaller location. The one in the video became a Starbucks, which seems to suggest something about society, but I'm not sure exactly what.
Man I miss the old arcades, and arcade cabinets in record shops, and playing Ducktales on the NES for hours on the Virgin Megastore demo console. Fantastic video Mallard.
So many great memories! Didn’t see the American programme but that was definitely the zeitgeist at the time for me at 7! Had a massive crush on Jonathan Taylor Thomas when I was a kid. Thanks for sharing x
Another classic Stuart. Jesus, Benny from Crossroads portrayed in a game made me laugh so much. I watch your videos and reminisce, but retro gaming is my thing and this early technology video has made my day. Still collect toys from the 70s and 80s to hang on to my childhood. Keep doing what you're doing. Love the satire and wit to what we were once a part of. ❤
Never felt I needed a SAM Cóupe when I was bombarded with ads in YS in ‘92.. but now I want that Little and Large text adventure 😂 brilliant video as always 👍
Leslie Nielson (or "Nelson" 😅 ) and Robert Culp. Both actors that appeared in Columbo. RIP both. Robert played his roles superbly. I wonder what the younger presenter is doing these days?
Great stuff!! Billy Pearce is on tour atm, doing both adult & family-orientated material, bless him. I'm visiting the old dear in Worthing next week, might go check it out.
The alarmism of, 'on-line filth', from the newly discovered interweb by those who obviously didn't have a single inkling of a clue what it actually was, or what you could do with it at the time. Dial-up internet being in its infancy at the time meant, graphic-wise, things were about as erotically exciting as a wet weekend in Scunthorpe.
I'm guessing not... However Cannon and Ball (as well as Bucks Fizz) had their own comic strips in the Look In comic in the 80s, so stranger things have happened...
What a cringey era this was. I was 15 in 94 and found the way video games were presented as some kind of extreme form of entertainment in the mainstream media absolutely ridiculous. It was like these people behind it were the one and the same being parodied in that Simpsons episode with Poochie the dog. Barking out cheat codes in shows like this was the worst. I hated when they did it on Bad Influence and Games World too. Calm down, mate. We’ve already got all these in last month’s CVG.
Agreed. I felt the only thing on TV about gaming that didn't make me want to curl up in a ball out of embarrassment was GamesMaster. Early 1990s was also the era of making a rap out of everything, which was fucking awful.

Jeez how old are you?! You look about my age and I was 8 in 94.
@@Weird.Dreams I was 15 in 1994

Weren't Bananarama on that special? (Of all people!). It sticks out in my mind... amongst other things...
RIP Shelley Duvall 😢
Were you related?
Just died
Blimey, I’d forgotten how accurate Brass Eye was! Great work as ever Mr Millard, please keep them coming!

The next best thing we can do is share the videos on our other socials and increase engagement.
Anyone else remember “Why Don’t You?!” or was it another bad trip memory?
Yes, I remember. Think Ant McPartlin was on it as a kid (presenting) amongst other plebs. Sorry, celebs.
Crap summer holiday program with northern kids. Was always time to go out and play when that tosh assaulted my tv

Sorry I'm late to this, but delighted with the cameo at 4:30!

Doing the Crab by Michael Barrymore playing at the end 😂
RIP Robbs Oops. Where now can we find 72 still pictures of Phillipa Forrester turning around slightly?
That Robbs Oops Celebs reference had me howling. Reminded me of many, lonely, friday nights.
Man I miss the old arcades, and arcade cabinets in record shops, and playing Ducktales on the NES for hours on the Virgin Megastore demo console.
Fantastic video Mallard.
Surely, the appropriate portion of Pringles is a crescent. Side clump of cress is optional.
And a hot egg
That Leslie Nielsen, wrestling sketch, was quite funny to be fair
God, Rob's Celebs... Now there's a reference!
New Millard, Cheers to that!
Just as you went to the rad 1994 ad break, I got one of those annoying Hero Wars ads. How low we've sunk.
Can’t bear a bit of Micheal Barrymore’s “ Doin the Crab” 😂

2:35 Noel Gallagher always looked middle aged
Haha the sneaky Benny cameo. Crossroads ftw.
I am living for Turbo Benny and his Miss Diane powers
Bonus point for the 'Get Stuffed' mention.
Benny From Crossroads in NBA Jam was brilliant.
Lovely jubbly. A new Millard video 😊
Leslie Nielson (or "Nelson" 😅 ) and Robert Culp. Both actors that appeared in Columbo. RIP both. Robert played his roles superbly.
I wonder what the younger presenter is doing these days?
I’ve seen the wrestling skit at least twice before and have never understood why Pullman came dressed as Bobby Eaton.
Great stuff!! Billy Pearce is on tour atm, doing both adult & family-orientated material, bless him. I'm visiting the old dear in Worthing next week, might go check it out.
Cheers Stuart love these videos, brings back lots of memories.
It was tough being a video game enthusiast.
just in time for dinner! cheers mate!
Yes! New 90s based content
Fantastic. I love seeing that a new Millard video has come out 🥳
I like how Susan Rae has a Hattie Hayridge look, gets us in the mood for computers
Damn i am old. Lol
Excellent connie as always Stu!
To be fair, Ganymede & Titan's "Idea for an episode" thread probably does need some sort of government intervention at this point.
mmmm Carson Wells made that same "do you validate parking tickets " joke in NCFOM and we know what happened to him.
Shelley Duvall? The curse of Millard strikes again. Could you do Jeremy Clarkson by any chance?
The Barbarian brothers “HUUURRR” was not a reference I was expecting here
Excellent as usual
"Now I'm panicking" Top kek.
Will "I used to be a piece of shit" Arnett

9:20 BILLY PIERCE!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow the herbie Hancock bit 😂
Hey! Fury of the Furries! I remember that
Where have you been? Ugh. God is worth waiting for, I suppose.
Haha, it's only been two weeks!
I popped so big for the Barbarian brothers, biggest celebs on the whole show.
04:12 eroding civil liberties and gaining powers of control via the Internet, this guy was bang on
That's you in the video, isn't it?
19:57 Isn't that Thomas Dolby bollocking his line? He had a hair transplant recently, so no trendy looking headwear for him no more.
11.42 - It' seems almost too obvious to say, but Arnett is definitely thinking "I've made a huge mistake," isn't he
Hello fellow G&Ters.
Robert Culp 😂😂😂😂
Such a shame that all of the celebrities in this video have passed on now.. RIP Hillary Swank.
Dammit, you made me Google her name 😅
Have you done a video on that godawful Brit awards? If not… that would be a great one to watch
That Virtual Valerie guy is an alright bit of fluff. I mean, whats a lot of murders?
19:59 Thomas Dolby before he got a wig?
hilarious 😅
Was Will Arnett one of the cheat code people??
Just had to pause the video to check whether there really was a Little and Large text adventure
I'm guessing not... However Cannon and Ball (as well as Bucks Fizz) had their own comic strips in the Look In comic in the 80s, so stranger things have happened...
Benny
You can't watch news reports like this after the Day Today and Brasseye.it's beyond satire . Chris Morris - youve ruined the news!!!
Visit for Stu, stay for the mind boggling filth.

Nice to know gaming award shows have always been awkward & cringe.
04:44 - apropos of nothing, but was there any more gratuitous a mid-90s sixth former than Jools? It was like she was the ultimate Ur-Ucas applicant.
That award ceremony is so cringe I almost couldn’t watch.
I’m drowning in cringe 😬
Hard to mock them when society is the way it is today...maybe they should have made the Internet 18+ back then after all
Yeah but if you made it 18+ that would make the young uns want it more
