    Kitchen Aid has a lifetime warranty. Call them and they will send you another one. Mine did the same thing and within a week they sent me a new one and a shipping label to return my broken one. It costed me nothing but a few minutes to package it up and take it to the post office.

      They don't always though. I bought mine in 2017 and it started smoking this year when I was making dough. KitchenAid wouldn't do anything because it was past the first year. I switched to an off brand mixer that has more functions and works way better.

      @@DJ-nh6wq Kitchenaide only offers 1 year replacement warranty. Maybe they made an exception (for some unknown reason) for the person who stated they have lifetime warranty. I checked out warranties before purchasing a new mixer.

    Severe Crohn’s disease patient here. I have had to cut out several food groups to include gluten. You are correct, gluten is in some nail polish, dips etc. It is also in everything we use. I think it’s awesome to cut out gluten in other areas other than food. Just a note that gluten is not absorbed through the digestive tract from anything other than what you consume in your digestive track. Meaning the nail items being full of gluten will not harm your gut which is where most of inflammation comes from. I am sure you already know this. 😊 Also, I have 10 kiddos that I homeschool, and we just read Hatchet 🪓 again, fun fact it’s a series if you didn’t know! We finished all 5 books that I read aloud! Great series.❤

    I want to thank you with all my heart for showing the reality of your mixer breaking down and kneading with all your might by hand as you admitted freely to specific skill sets, asked for help for what was outside yours, and just kept plugging away at dealing with "life". I have been facing a setback of my own, and something " clicked" for me as I watched you kneading. Next week, I will do some figurative kneading in my own life. Know that your work today has made a difference for someone you do not know, ME!

    My favorite way to cook a roast is in my Instant Pot. I use one can of cream of mushroom soup and an envelope of onion soup mix. I stir it up and add half a can of water, then add the roast. I cook it for 60 minutes if the roast is thawed or 90 minutes if it's frozen. I let it naturally release for 10 minutes and then release the pressure, add potatoes and carrots on top of it. Turn it on pressure cook for 10 minutes more. Let it naturally release for 10 minutes and then release the pressure. It makes such a tender roast. My daughter said I've spoiled her on roast making it this way.

    Others may have told you this already, but hollow hearts in potatoes are caused by inconsistent watering. Don't overwater potatoes or they'll rot in the ground, but do give them water every couple of days or so in dry weather. Up that during heat waves. One clue that potatoes need water is when the leaves droop a bit. Also, when you see flowers on the potato plant, step up the watering schedule also. I hope this helps.

    Hi lovely lady! Hollow potatoes often form when young potatoes are deprived of water in the early stages of growth, then given an over-abundance of water later on. The internal structure is weakened by drought, so they pull apart when water enters the cells surrounding them.
    Do enjoy your camping trip - getting out in nature is definitely good for the soul! My brother and his wife (and two dogs) are currently camping in the Scottish highlands, after a very stressful year in which their house burned down. Already they are feeling the benefits, even though it's a colder time of year than usual for such trips! xxx

    Hi Jamal, so my name is Del and I’m Hispanic and the beef shake is like a delicatessen for us Hispanics. What we do is we cook them till they’re so tender and good and we put all the vegetables in there like you did your chicken and put the celery in the potatoes and the carrots and we actually put cabbage and all that and we had we use it. We eat it as a soup and it’s called Caldo. (Beef )., now all kinds of vegetables can go in the Caldo you can put you can even put on canned corn and can bring beans, but we put corn on the cobs cut in small bits and then I was like I said it has a bell pepper and onion and tomato and a canna tomato sauce, and everything garlic and cabbage squash you can look it up. It is so good and it’s so good for you especially in winter time. It’s a comfort food. It’ll keep you nice and your body warm and nutrition. (beef Caldo)

    Hollow heart, sometimes called brown heart or sugar center, is found everywhere potatoes are grown and occurs when there is an abrupt change in growing conditions. It often has to do with lack of water causing slowed potato growth and stress, and then an abundance or overabundance of water.

    Since you are talking about needing to be more strictly gluten free for your elimination diet, I wanted to share that I have celiac disease and in the beginning I had to learn a lot about cross contamination. One thing my GI doctor told me was not to be in a room where flour was being used for baking or for 15 minutes after because of airborne flour, which can be breathed in and ingested that way. Not sure if you have celiac, but it might be worth thinking about if you are strictly eliminating gluten. I know you are enjoying making bread for your family, so I don’t want to rain on that parade, but I just wanted to let you know.

    Do you any suggestions on how to make the walking thing work when you have all littles under 12? Live in the city ( ok a small Midwestern town but not on any kind of acreage) I have tried taking them all with but I have more than 6 kiddos so it can be challenging to get any distance in? You look so slim trim and healthy. I know alot of that is due to the personal journey your facing but you are glowing.

    • @JamerrillStewart
      @JamerrillStewart  2 місяці тому +13

      Eating the Trim Healthy Mama plan in general, helped me learn how to control the type of food going in my mouth. You can eat that plan, whether you are a city mouse, or a country mouse 😊. I do have acreage, and I’m on a private property. This means I can get out and run in the morning early while kids are asleep and another adult is in the house or later in the evening. This also allows me to walk while my children play. I haven’t done this while living in a neighborhood because I’ve always raised children on at least 2 acres. However, I imagine that if I was in the city, I would walk laps in my fenced backyard when the kids played. If I had another adult in the house at times, I would get out and walk those city sidewalks during nap time or downtime in the evening. If nothing else, I would get a treadmill pad and walk during family movie time potentially. This is all in my imagination though, and I have not lived with those dynamics. But I do know I need to move my body and that’s a big requirement for me these days. Another thing I have done in real life is I joined a gym that had free childcare for my children. Last winter when the weather was bad I took my children there. My older kids did the gym equipment or swim. My younger kids did the free child care Center. And I walked around the track for an hour. I had to drive an hour round-trip though to make that happen. Another thing that really happens in real life is when I take my small children to the playground, I will set my watch distance, but I just walk small laps wherever they are. Toddler on the swing? I walk circles around him. And even at my current property if I’m with smaller children in a small area, I walk circles around where they’re playing so the distance doesn’t have to be achieved by actually walking the length of a mile away. I can get a mile to a mile and a half in in a small space when I have no other options. I did this just last week on a rainy day when we went to the children’s museum. I got in a mile and a half walking around my youngest while he played in small areas. These are just some ideas and I hope they’re helpful for you.

    Just an FYI...❤ you CAN use the stretch and fold method for recipes that call for kneading upfront. Just stir your ingredients together initially, cover, come back 30 minutes later with wet hands (a bowl of water nearby helps), do some stretch and folds, and repeat the process a few times. That way, time is helping develop that gluten for you (as you know from the other recipes you've used that have you stretch and fold)... but just wanted to mention that you definitely can use that method instead of kneading. And you're right... normal people don't make big batches like that 😂 but what's the fun in being normal? I'm right there with you, making a million loaves at a time even when life blows up in unimaginable ways 💔 Sometimes things just happen in the kitchen. 🫣 Sometimes 1 loaf just turns into 12. But hey Jesus did it first, right? He was clearly a fan of big batches when he fed the 5,000. Hugs ❤❤❤❤

    Ok, I just bought a "Cooklee Stand Mixer" 9.5 Qt from Amazon for $150.. I can't tell you how it is, because it will be here Sat. But I can tell you the reason I chose this one is because on the Amazon product video this woman claims that she had a Kitchen Aid and she kept burning them out with her every day bread making. She said she ordered this Cooklee and it keeps up with her. Good enough for me. So maybe what you want as well. Peace.

    With all of the tallow you have and the fat that is already on those beautiful cuts of met there is no longer a need to put oil in the bottom of your cast iron. Start utilizing the animal fats. I have also been on the elimination way of eating/carnivore since April. My favorite thing to do is to cut the fat off of the steak and roasts to eat and use in cooking. It is soooooo delicious!

    I make beef vegetable soup with the beef shanks. My dad used to make the beef shanks like little individual pot roasts in the crockpot

    ❤Your kitchen-Aid hook has to be pushed up and clicked on, that's why it wouldn't spin, your machine is working well, you just need to click on the paddle spinner correctly ....

    Call the manufacture & tell them what happened they may be able to do something. That's a good brand.

    Does your bread machine have a dough setting that will mix it for you? I usually use my bread machine to make my french baguette dough and then I just remove it, do the second rise, and bake.

    Oh no! I did the same thing to my mixer. That is a burned out gear, I ordered the fix on mine and haven’t fixed it yet. I ended up buying a vintage Hobart instead.

    I have had my kitchen aid for 22 years, I got it used from EBAY. My advice, because of the large amount of dough you process, perhaps look into a bosch mixer which can make 6 loaves of dough at one time. I learned about that mixer on youtube, LOL Good luck with it.

    Question: I just started using the gel nail for my nails because I work in medical, and have for years, my nails are brittle and tear easy. I also deal with inflammation in my colon. Does that kind of nail polish contribute to inflammation? What kind did you get. Did not recognize the kind you had

    • @JamerrillStewart
      @JamerrillStewart  Місяць тому +1

      I’m not an expert on any of that. People have told me gluten is absorbed in the digestive track and things like nail polishes/hair products don’t affect it. But other people are very sensitive and feel they are affected by it. In this video, I removed my gel nail polish, but after a few weeks of trying to Work/cook/film I went and had gel put back on because I can’t keep up with chipped nail polish. So I’m just gonna try to not tackle that area at this point in life. 😜😜😜 hard to do it all 💗💗💗

      Sarah and I both got our sourdough starter from our friend Lisa at farmhouse on Boone on the same trip and since that time she and I have been working through Lisa’s recipes. only my life blew up summer 2023 and I was down for the sourdough count for several months in between. We’re in this together. 🤣🤣🤣
