We’ve used one for years, when there’s fire season burn bans and we can’t use camp Dutch ovens. As others have noted, a pizza stone on the bottom will help the heat diffusion. A slate flooring tile works also, that’s what we use. There are fitted insulated covers for the stove available online. For transporting ours, it lives in a canvas shopping bag just a little larger than the folded stove dimensions are. Takes a little practice, but once you’ve got the use of it dialed in they are handy little ovens.
I’ve had one of these for years and they are great. At the sacrifice of increasing the weight, if you want to really make it shine, get some fire bricks or a small pizza stone, place it at the bottom to displace the direct heat.. And to make it more efficient, get a carbon felt blanket for the top(ie welder’s blanket). If you’re feeling adventurous, get some Nomex thread and customize the carbon felt blanket as a 5 sided cover that drops over top (only cut it about 1/4 to no more than 1/2 way down the sides so it’s not near the flame)

Oh wow that’s a great idea I’ve seen the gravel hack but I’d not advise that as they could explode 🤯 thanks for your input 👍
Great product!
I think so too!
Put a pizza stone in the bottom will also help with the heating problem
Yes someone said fire bricks I’m hoping maybe a company might revamp this great kit and sort these small issues out
So you lovely lot any one have one/wanting one thoughts ideas comment below 😊
If you enclose it in a welder’s blanket it will retain heat better
Wow great tip!
What size welding blanket? Do you have a picture of yours with the blanket attached?
