- This a video about how to fix macbook pro from question mark and os x could not be installed on your computer, this happens when the system OSX is to old and apple has an expiring date on there old OS systems. and here is the solution for this problem on old macs, in this case this is a 2011 macbook pro that has this problem, this mac starts with the (question mark) first and then with (os x could not be installed on your computer) error. The problem is your internet try to connect your computer via Ethernet cable. And try again.

For those for who even this is not working.
Change dates as guided in the video and the following steps. I put the date 2013(You can try anything 2010,2011,2012, 2013 etc)
But instead of restarting shut down your laptop. Swap rams or take them out and put them back in. As i had put one ram as new so i just took them out and put them back.
So this time when i pressed command+r it showed ios catalia to install rather than lion.
So installed it and no problem arose regarding additional components.

You had to upgrade it first to macOS El-Capitan then up to Mavericks, then to macOS Sierra, and the final High Sierra..then you will upgrade it from Open Core Legacy Patcher which it could run the latest macOS Monterey from there..
You only need OS X Yosemite to run OCLP

I just fixed it today after testing every possible scenario - it was hard drive cable. I replaced it and now it works like a new:)

does not work on mine. The date is correct. Command r send me to internet recovery. I go through the apple ID login, it wont install at all afterwards. same macbook.... starting to think these machines are just garbage from Apple.

you need install snow leopard OSX because is too old for a new OSX. try download snow leopard from another mac, there are too many videos that show you how to do

First try to reset the PRAM is that not work You need to replaced your hard drive for a new one.
Some times that error is because the hard drive is bad so you need a new hard drive

Hi when I click on "Continue" to downlaod and restore Mac OS X, your computer eligibility will be verified with Apple, it just greys out and keeps on loading. It doesn't move from there.

Some times you need out your Apple ID
On my case I have the original cd and I make a reinstall from cd.
The another way is if you make a time machine copy .
