You should have drilled through the roof into the cab, removed the headliner, run wiring all over the place, screwed in all the lights and then sealed everything back up. NOT!! Why would anyone do that now a days when they could install the lights you purchased? Those look bad ass! Nice work man!
That is the most stupid thing I heard yet. On a new truck . Maybe if the truck was 15 years old but even then your asking for trouble moisture leaking ya forget it .3m is good enough if you prepare it. It holds well and almost impossible to remove it. It can be done but difficult.

Just so everyone knows, those lights usually have meaning. So you know on the larger 3/4 ton and one ton trucks that are wide and tall N/A, and the Raptors/TRX are extra wide, N/A. The lights you see on them are mandated per DOT standards.
The 3 markers in the middle as you see on raptors/TRX and other large trucks are to present the vehicle is an excess of 80inches wide. The single exterior cab lights are to present the vehicle is over 7 feet tall.
Now it is not a crime to have these lights on a small vehicle such as a ranger but they do have meaning.
our 2500hd z71 diesel didn’t come with. dealer said it’s an option.
The lights look great! I have been considering these for my F150 Roush and looking at your truck I think I can also pull it off. Thanks for sharing.

I think these new 1500’s are as big as previous year 2500’s.
The bodies are all the same size . GVR IS THE ONLY DIFFERENCE.

Man that truck looks good, i can't tell what that color is but i like it. I've always added stuff to my trucks but my OCD is so bad it takes me awhile to decide to do something and sometimes after i do it after awhile ill reverse it back to the way it was and just sell the parts. The 2020 f150 i have ive done all mods to the inside the outside is still stock. Man that GMC looks Awesome, my wife says i love my truck more than i do her. Lol

Oh you had an easy install because you got a sunroof. Ive had these lights about as long as you have. 3 out of 5 for me because the led's can be unreliable. Some dont charge, some flicker after awhile. Inconsistent...i did buy replacement lights but its a rip off to keep buying lights that may not work correctly. Drilling holes is what i wanted to avoid doing so im good with that. The night driving and charging is almost non existent when they only hold a 30 minute charge
Would be cool to find a way to have them come on when the headlights come on. It would be easy enough to rig up a relay to the RF transmitter but would just be a pain. Wish there was something pre-made.
Yeah. Like a wireless transmitter hooked into the running lights signals these to turn on. Thatd be cool

Hey brother it’s been 9 months. How are these cab lights holding up?
could try gutting one of the remotes and using relays so that they turn on and turn when starting and stoping the car. that would be cool. Been a few years since i was a MECP installer but i know you can hold a relay for a certain amount of time. the only downside it if they get out of sync.
Even smartter would be a magnetic switch for the lights. under the headliner under each light. car turn on magnet flips the lights on. car turns off magnet turns them off. no holes no prob.
I have a 1500 single cab, 8 foot bed, thinking witch way to go wired or wireless, I'm a retired trucker so I feel the need for cab lights!

It looks goofy now with the Hood Deflector Lights. I would choose either the Hood or the Roof Lights, not both unless that's what you want. Also I would be very cautious in anyone getting the totally clear light/lenses. I have seen the photo gallery on their web site and from what I have seen, Cops may think these are off road light's no matter how "not bright" they are and tell you to cover them up. Great product.
$400 and they don't even come with a module that turns them on automatically. Just seems like a pain in the ass to have to remote turn on your cab lights every time.

The reliability problems everyone seems to have goes away if Cabover America would simply add an electrical charging port to each light.

Yea idk, seems like having them turn on automatically with your lights is more convenient.
Plus if you forget to turn them on now it looks like you have cab lights burned out
Or you have no sun for a while in the winter and they still look burned out
I certainly agree with the turning on automatically but the price of not wanting to drill in the roof. However this is something I shouldve added in the video I guess, they can charge by the light in the garage as well.

Since you’ve had them on now for a few weeks, have you had any issues? I saw a ton of bad reviews on Amazon about the light not lasting more than 10 minutes, lights not syncing, lights not charging. Just curious to see your experience so far since your like the only video I’ve seen that had these recently installed.
Only issue with one, was one not syncing once and possibly not charging correctly. I just keep the remote in the truck, put it to the windshield to turn them on. Apparently I didn't hold it long enough for one to turn on or it didn't charge right. After I resynced the next day it wouldn't turn on at all....wasn't charged. Granted it was completely cloudy so couldn't really charge but the other 4 had a charge.

@@MarcosReyes53 that I can't say as I have not had them on for that long. Max I've had mine on has been approx. 1.5hr n they were good to go

What happened to the one that died on you while other 4 were turning on? Did you figured out what was the cause? How did it performed after charging, mine's having same issue 1 pod is not responding
So do you have to remember to turn them off so the battery doesn’t die.
Yes and no. The battery will die, I believe I've seen around 12hrs of battery life from others that have these lights but you can't really tell they're on during the day anyway so the sun would charge them until you want them on at night again or the lights in your garage can charge them
If you ever need to remove 3M like that use fishing line
That's the deal breaker for me. The remote seems way too inconvenient.
Only issue I have is they're not bright enough !

I can't say remotes not working no, but not charged when I believe they should be yes
Bought these in May 23' and now in Nov they are useless. Problem is I live in the northern US with low sunlight and my truck is garaged most days. So without a solid 8hrs of direct dailey sunlight the batteries go bad. Looks cool but a waste of $400.
So were the lights themselves Amber or did they only turn Amber once the filters were put on? I ordered smoked lens with amber light under the impression that the lights were white, but to turn them amber you had to put the filters on. That’s just what I saw in other videos showing off the lights. I figured I’d run amber for a bit to see how I liked it then take the filters off so they could be white, but I think I messed up.
Yea ordering amber lights they are amber, well yellow without the lens. If you wanted actual white should order the white lights n use the amber lens
Customs Unlimited has a better design that is also wireless but turns on and off with the truck. No remote needed.

Nope, it is only turned on/off with the remote.
Only problem is putting those nice lights on a gmc

these lights are garbage, they don't last, half of them go out, and barely shine. you'll be driving down the ride with 3 lights on and 2 off. shame because they look great and it'll be so much easier than the alternative.

Still thinking on it, haven't pulled the trigger yet. Have a couple options but haven't chosen the best/easiest/most asceticly pleasing

@@WICKEDAUTO1 Putco is way to go friend. I have one on my Trail Boss and it’s bada$$! You can also get a plug and play harness with too so no splicing involved. GM sells it as an accessory on their website but you can find it cheaper
$400! For these lights your kidding. Ya you lost me on this product. Little lights like this. Il pass. Most ridiculous price iv seen yet. You could of gotten a light pro bug deflector cheaper. Lol to bad there so over priced because they are cool. I checked your link on these lights and I was shocked by the price. I thought maybe $150 or less but $400 ! I can do without them. To bad they would have looked good on my 2021 GMC elevation . They are accent lights that's all . I did order the pro deflector. That was $250 and that has function but the cabs lights just sit there and make your truck look good with no real function . Ya I'm good . But what ever floats your boat. Me that's to steep a price.I might get pulled over if I use the strobe feature. Lol

I've read enough product reviews of these solar-powered, wireless, LED clearance lamps to know that you should avoid these things like the plague.
In theory, they were a good idea. However, in real-world practical application, they are not very good at all. Poor quality intermittent and permanent failures of individual lamps, combined with lousy inadequate solar power recharging, and the fact that you have to use the key fob remote(s) to turn the lights on and off, are just wayyy too many problems.
All that nonsense, just for an aesthetically pleasing look to the top of your truck cab?
Nah. Hard pass on these. Save your money.
If the right way to do it was wireless, you can bet that the OEMs would have already been doing it. Sometimes, accessories being properly hard-wired to the vehicle's existing exterior lighting system is a much better & more reliable choice. This is precisely one of those times.
Its weird how you say lower trim packages like the Denali. The Denali is GMC's highest and most luxurious trim package. The AT4 is just an all terrain package. The Denali isnt a lower package its just not a rugged package that these would fit.
This is an AT4X which is above the Denali, so it is a lower trim. The Denali Ultimate is above the AT4X and only includes super cruise over the AT4X.
i'll pass, the whole remote thing kind of sucks. I don't wanna be sitting there turning them on and off every time I wanna go somewhere

Yes, they are solar powered. Also by led garage lights. Not sure, have not tested how long the lights stay on yet

Good concept but worthless. Batteries only lasted about six months. When I called about it, they said I needed to ship the batteries back to them on my dime. They sent me new set of batteries. again batteries only lasted about six months. Don’t buy
These are garbage, ask me how i know, you'll be disappointed, then frustrated, maybe not necessarily in that order
