POV: you cannot understand English well yet but you are a 12yo kid listening this song for comfort on your cd player in car driving by parents pretending everything is normal after massive scream fight few moments ago.
I discovered this song when my family was falling apart twenty odd years ago. We live and grow, but I remember also. It is worth remembering, however painful, because it was real, and it reminds me what we have all survived and overcome.
I watched my stepdaughter go through this with her mom. "You were the only light in my life back then." My stepdaughter would go on to tell me this 15 years after her mother removed me from her life because the new guy was not comfortable with our arrangement -- that I would take my stepdaughter along with my nephew to the movies, McDonalds, the park to play etc. for about a year after we broke up. Then she got the balls to tell my stepdaughter a truly evil lie -- that I no longer cared about her so that she could remove me from her life completely. "He doesn't love you anymore." That was a life-changing lie and she will have to live with that for the rest of her life. Some 15 years later my stepdaughter found me on facebook to tell me that she would eventually be taken away from her now drug-addicted mom to be with a foster family. The new guy got her all messed up. That's why the scene in the video where a happy family on TV pulls the little girl into their world hits me right in the feels.
It's funny how a song can invoke the same emotions it did from years ago when you first heard it.

I'm here in 2024 and this is a blues song. I need a full brass version please Miss P¡nk.
How this song could ever fade from public consciousness is beyond me.
