I just noticed that you didn't put a gasket when you put the cases back together
Used liquid gasket
@@cyclebarnandbuilds6614 and a eBay piston. Bike is blown
The YZ85’s don’t use a gasket between the cases. They come stock with liquid gasket from the factory.

The 04 and the 03s look the same 03 vs 04 is what me and my friend did they both are the same speed like like my 04 because it looks better than my friends but i like the way you are doing this build good job. And be safe ✌
02-2018 are the same just deferent colors and plastics.

What kind of paint did you use? I’m rebuilding my sons yz85 and was thinking of painting the motor!!
Don't do it. If you want it to look nice just strip the motor down and get it vapor blasted. It will look new way longer if you take care of it

I cringe whenever seeing those niche cylinder kits used. I would send to get oem replated
So there’s no need to get a crank installer for this bike??
Not really. Freeze crank and heat bearings up with a torch and it will literally drop in. Then for the other side use a rubber mallet to lightly tap case on until you can get a good bite with engine bolts then tightened them in a crisscross pattern..with that said I still use a puller because I've seen people crack their case when running into a issue
I used a case splitter just make sure the Arma on case splitter are all nice and level with motor all around so you're pushing crank in nice and straight relatively you aren't even pushing the crank you're actually pulling the crank case onto the crank I did it opposite way of him tho and out cranknin stator side first like you're suppose to
What kind of piston is that

im going to rebuild my top end very soon on my yz85, what torque spec do you torque the 8 main bolts on the top end to?
The bottom cylinder bolts get torqued to 20 ft lb and the top head nuts get torqued to 22 ft lbs
