These things I thought were teeth are probably fossilized "shark coprolite"......some fossil hunters alerted me to this in the community section of my page on the photo of these. I then typed "shark coprolite" into bing and the 1st few images sure look like these. SO THIS IS ANCIENT FOSSILIZED SHARK POOP..............
I see you already figured out what your fossils are. I was blown away after discovering that I had picked up some West Virginia shark poopy! I now have found 5 total, 2 came from two separate creeks I look in and 3 came from the river, 1 of which is truly museum quality and is better than any examples I can find online.... One that I gave away had been freshly broken, I was able to find and pick up most of the pieces. But what was cool was you can see bits of bone of whatever the shark had been eating showing inside the "piece"!! If that piece hadn't been broken it would've been better than my best. I can show you some pictures of what I've found if you like.
OMGOSH!!!! That's crazy! BTW....I love your videos so much! I live in Huntington WV. I've been wanting to go places to look for arrowheads. Haven't done it yet. But you could never bore me with your hunting. :-)
That's just exactly what I was going to suggest--coprolite. It's very interesting to collect. Great shooter and beautiful old pavers! I do love your paths and walkways made of those! A nice day's hunt! Now that she has her hair cut, poor Sadie won't have to get a bath when she has to poop!
Guess your feet aren't too bad. I can't get out as much as you........I end up having to stockpile videos. I will never be able to more than one a week and not sure I will be able to keep that pace forever. Good luck out there..........glad you could get out because then I get to go along.
Keep us posted on the block object (fossil tooth) when you find out. Looks like something, but not sure what it may be. Always a learning experience. Thanks for sharing.
shark coprolite-----some guys told me in the community section on the photo....So it is fossil shark poop. I typed shark coprolite into bing and looked at some pics...and the 1st couple looked just like these. I would say that is what they are.....I knew they had to be something. Without this channel....I would have thrown those in a box and just never knew what I had. Hopefully I can go back and find more fossils.
For a 45 minuet hunt that was awesome! That fossil is really interesting looking. Unfortunately I have never found or seen one. Take care and thanks for the hunt! H.H.
Rocks, I think the object you're calling a tooth may actually be a belemite shell which housed a squid like creature not sure but with Ohio being under water in prehistoric times it could be.
Yea it could be. I think it is a fossil...some guys told me it was a shark coprolite, and i searched that on bing...and this sure looks exactly like a few of them. I would say it could be.
Yea, They are odd. And they may be nothing at all. I have seen similar stuff digging in fossil beds full of ferns and plant fossils as a kid, They looked like seeds....or seed pods. They were similar to these but different. They would have both come from abot the same layer of geologic time. One was on the Ohio side of the river in a creek.,....and this one today was almost directly across the river....in a creek in West Virginia. Just seems odd.
I am far from a geologist. These are coming from a layer that I think would have probably been a swamp......or wetland. I could be wrong. But the layer the little one came from was like a shale/coal/dark layer of crumbly and hard bedrock. The little one fell out of the loose crumbly coal type layer.....and it is harder than the surrounding coal material....so it is so kind of a nodule. And it is probably a fossil that was minerialized when the coal was forming. That is what I think anyway....but i could be totally wrong on this. They sure are odd
@@rockscousteau it looks like it could be some kind of sea worm thing. My grandpa use to tell me that parts of wv use to be an ancient ocean so it could be. I've checked our creek out back and the hills where the big rock cliffs are and have found some cool things .
Hey boss, you should go to Stevenjasinski.com Really cool British man who is a paleontologist. He was very quick in responding to an email I sent him about identifying some fossils I found. He's currently the Curator of Paleontology at the PA State museum He would know exactly what you have there. Love those bricks you found, my grandfathers first job was digging clay out of the ground and cooking them into bricks. Used them to build many houses in my area.
Yeah that would be sweet. Like someone else said this area was under the sea hundreds of millions of years ago. Would be cool if it was a tooth from one of those bastards that look like the Lock Ness monster
Ok....I am pretty sure it is shark coprolite so shark poop. Some fossils guy messaged me and I searched it on bing....some of them look exactly like these
Well put from Huntington w.v Rock on brother

Never dreamed fossilized poop could be worth so much money 😳

Allen.........will take it under consideration. Thanks.

That is Twisted Brother and glad U have two that Will keep your Mine Wondering !! Let us know if U find anything out about your theory !! ✌🇺🇸✌✌
Those fossils may be trilobite or as pointed to earlier, coprolite. Good vid. Thanks.

Yep! I was just fixing to say this! I have some myself here in TN
No expert here, but looks like teeth to me as well Rocks...cool finds brother!

Where at in wv
Love your reactions rock! Keep up the solid work. Let’s see some detecting vids!
Oh you will see me finding coins on the river like I am arrowheads this year. I am going to get a waterproof detector here in a month
Well, it had two Os' anyway. Tooth-poop.
It’s not every day I find a revolver in the creek cause that happened today
It’s a cephalopod
Thanks buddy
I think it's some type of see creature. We(Ohio) were under water I believe in ancient times.

Cool finds big dawg, love your videos
🤙
Like the fossils an arrowheads not to for sure what them are
shark coprolite---shark poop.
@@rockscousteau lol
They could be fossilized seed pods
Yea....that is what I kind of thought initially. I have found stuff like this before...i just pick up fossils though...I do not know much about them
Look up cephalopods, it's badly weathered but I think that's what you have,
It may be it also looks a lot like shark poop. shark coprolite.....if you bing it.....some look just like these

Awesome. Yea. If these are teeth or some kind of fossil I want to at least find out what they are. It would be cool if they are teeth.
Yeah that would be sweet. Like someone else said this area was under the sea hundreds of millions of years ago. Would be cool if it was a tooth from one of those bastards that look like the Lock Ness monster
Check out phatfossils he might be able to help
Ok....I am pretty sure it is shark coprolite so shark poop. Some fossils guy messaged me and I searched it on bing....some of them look exactly like these
If that is what it is...for sure.....it would have all the material the shark ate....fossilized in the nodule.
