- In this video you can see how I repair and prepare a fully automatic coffee machine from the new Siemens EQ 500 series. The weak spot of the series is the brewing group, which makes it impossible to operate the machine due to the defective hose. I have found a solution to this problem that should prevent this error pattern.

Hello I have fixed the machine and it now pushes coffee again. The problem now is when pushing hot water it steams a lot and water just drips out slowly. Any ideas ?

Yes, the black hose (not an original) didn't last long. The red hose is stronger and lasts longer.

Are there other pipes which could get kinked in the same way? im considering might be the sensor responsible for that message. do you know if that is replaceable or do you suggest any other points of failure for that message?

Gute und aufwändige Reparatur und Wartung. Respekt! Aber die Maschinen sind doch eine reine Katastrophe, selten so einen komplizierten und und verbauten Aufbau gesehen. Da bleibe ich doch lieber bei Jura und Delonghi.

Hallo, ja das geht. Dazu muss allerdings das Gehäuse abgebaut und der Drehknopf um zwei bis drei Zähne umgesetzt werden.
Zrobiłem to wszystko, ale mam problem. Zdemontowałem maszynę i nawiązałem kontakt, więc maszyna myśli, że drzwi są zamknięte, więc mogę obserwować cały proces podczas demontażu. Kiedy uruchamiam program kawowy, kawa jest mielona i dozowana w części do zaparzania w normalny sposób, gdy woda zaczyna wypływać, wypływa z dołu na tackę, a NIE przez proces parzenia, w którym znajduje się kawa, i w górę przez otwór, który wchodzi do drzwi. Most of the problems I have are with the brew unit £80 replacement I think I’ll just get a new brew unit. The main issue mine has is dumps water back into the drip tray like it has no pressure. What do you think. ?
I think it could be something else causing the water to get into the drip tray (e.g. the pressure relief valve on the water pump). If the valve does not work properly, the water collects directly in the drip tray.

In the overpressure valve there is a steel spring, which should be pulled a few millimeters in length so that it can withstand a little more.

Thank you for the wonderful video, I have the same problem, and the machine was serviced 2 years ago with the same problem. Unfortunatelly it is out of guarantee, but the local service asked for 230 euro's to replace the brewer!! Does anyone know the parts number?

Thank you for the rolled up card. We managed to fix our stuck brewing unit. Don't know why it was stuck and don't know why our unit said restart the machine. Somehow it started the coffee making process and the unjammed itself thank. goodness.

Kupiłem ten ekspres kilka miesięcy temu i zaparza kawę, która smakuje jak fusy. Nie wiem już co robię źle: filtrowana woda, ekspres gruntownie czyszczony co 7 dni + wg zaleceń ekranu, wszystko oznaczone w opcjach ekspresu (filtr, twardość wody itd.), drogie ziarna kawy, ustawienia młynka, różne proporcje wody i mocy i nadal wychodzi ściek. Nie mam już siły.
Nawet tym ekspresem da się zrobić dobrą kawę. Najważniejsze jest ustawienie młynka i odpowiednie ziarna. Osobiście używam Lavazzy o intensywności 5-7. To mieszanka arabiki i robusty. Ustawienia młynka wykonaj po jednym stopniu, zaczynając od największej ziarnistości. Za każdym razem zaparz co najmniej trzy kawy. Procedurę powtarzaj aż do momentu, kiedy kawa osiągnie odpowiedni smak. Fusy w pojemniku z reguły powinny być suche i uformowane w krążek. Pozdrawiam

Witam, potrzebuje pomocy z moim Siemens EQ500 Integral. Dzisiaj po czyszczeniu ekspresu programem czyszczącym chciałam zrobić flat white i spieniacz mleka zaczął mi 'pluć' mlekiem. Nie rozumiem dlaczego?! Mam ten ekspres od 4 lat i co tydzień czyszczę go tak samo...weszlam na strone Siemens i postepowalam wedlug ich zalecen wiec wlaczylam program cal&clean niestety nic to nie dalo. Dokladne czyszczenie systemu podawania mleka podobnie nic nie dalo...niewiem co robic?!
Witam, proponuję zdemontować wszystkie elementy służące do spieniania mleka czyli wylewkę, wężyk oraz części z karafki na mleko. Następnie należy rozebrać wszystko na części pierwsze i na dwie godziny włożyć do roztworu gorącej wody z dodatkiem specjalnego środka czyszczącego (np. do czyszczenia butelek dla dzieci "NUK" albo podobne). Płyn do mycia naczyń często nie wystarczy.

The brewing group can be put back in, but it's a bit more complicated. First, you need to let the machine return to the starting position. To do this, you need to press the microswitch in the upper right corner without the brewing group. During this process, some water may leak out, so I recommend placing a cloth underneath. Then you can push the brewing group back in and press against it and turn on the device at the same time. Immediately after switching on, the brewing group should snap back into place. If not, the process must be repeated.
Is there anyting inside the machine that could cause the milk to nok foam? Mine just gives varm milk
Yes, the nozzles are installed in the coffee spout, which are responsible for frothing the milk. These should be dismantled and cleaned regularly.

Ich habe gestern eine EQ500 gebraucht bekommen, wo der Trester ziemlich grob und matschig ist, obwohl das Mahlwerk auf feinster Stufe steht.
Was kann da sein?
Die Maschine hat rund 4300 Bezüge und die Dichtung der Brühgruppe sieht auch noch gut aus.
Die Brühgruppe muss sich leicht bewegen bzw. drehen lassen, damit sie den Kaffee gut verdichten kann. In den meisten Fällen aber ist eine stumpfe Mahlscheibe die Ursache für diesen Fehler. Du kannst die Kaffeemenge überprüfen, indem du die Zubereitung nach dem Mahlvorgang unterbrichst und das Kaffeepulver abwiegst. Es sollten deutlich mehr als 7 Gramm Kaffeepulver sein.
Przeskakiwanie napędu powoduje źle pracujący zaparzacz, gdy wężyk zaczyna się załamywać i przestaje wywierać wystarczający nacisk na cylinder. Ten nie do końca wraca na miejsce i się zakleszcza. Współczesna inżynieria Siemensa.
Sprężyna ochronna wężyka pomaga, ale ja daję ją na zewnątrz. Wewnątrz może przyspieszyć zbieranie się osadów.
Poza tym jak zwykle dobra robota.
Mam konstrukcyjnie podobny ekspres "Bosch VeroCup 100" i tam się nie pojawia ten błąd, czyli zaparzcz się nie blokuje. W zaparzaczu siemensa zabudowany jest dodatkowa część która ma zapobiegać właśnie przez ciebie opisany błąd. Niestety też to nie działa. Co do wężyka to nie powinien sie zbierać w nim osad bo w momencie zaparzania przepływa jedynie gorąca woda.
Dobra robota :) Jakiej sody używasz do mycia ? Spożywcza czy nadwęglan ?

The problem is with the brewing group, which sometimes blocks. This also happened to my EQ.500 after two months. I have seen in other newer Siemes coffee machines that a piece of 25:42 has been left out of the brewing groups. Maybe the brewing group won't block as quickly afterwards.

Thank you for the detailed video. Like many other, i'm having issue pulling out the brewing unit. Just like you at the beginning of the video, it's slightly offset. I'm not confident to dismantle anything unfortunately. I also realize there are no lubricant at all anymore on the white moving part and also on top of the brewing unit where this white parts is being inserted. I remember seeing a lot early on, could that also ?
Hello, you're right, there's a little bit of white lubricant on delivery. Unfortunately, there is another problem here, the brewing group sometimes hangs which causes the gears in the transmission to skip. I'm looking for a solution to the problem and will post it here as soon as I find one.

Hello, i have already cleaned the Brewer and changed the waterpump but but the machine is still not working. The water does not come out of the front and is just running into the drip pan. When i try to make hot water, the machine is just steaming.
Hi, there is a pressure relief valve on the water pump. Inside there is a steel spring that you have to pull apart a bit (1-2 mm).

I completed the repair as shown. but the gear position returned to the same incorrect position after a few coffees. I checked the brewing unit, there is no excessive jamming. There are no breaks or scrapes on the gears. What could be the problem?

Yes, you can simply pull the latch backwards. But if the steel spring has already come off, you have to open the side panel. Simply unscrew the two screws and pull the side panel backwards.

Great video. Invaluable in "fixing" my coffeemachine. I also had some binding in the brewing group, which was resolved by removing the lock and 3d-printing a new gear in the brewing group. However, I don't think the problem main problem with the binding in the brewing unit, but rather with the gears in the driving unit. The skipping of gears (at least in my case) was between the middle gear which drives the brewing group and the large gear which I assume controls the "timing". In my machine one of the tooth on the smaller part of the middle gear was broken. I was able to fix it by 3d-printing a new upper halv of the gear. This worked great for a week or so, until the 3d printed part lost a tooth again (as expected). I believe there is some kind of binding on the timing pins or perhaps som intermittent problem with the micro switches which causes the big gear to stall and the tooths to break. If the gear skipping was caused by the brewing unit, the skipping would be on the other gears in the drive unit and should still not cause the misalignment (if my assumptions on the motor and the big gear is correct).
The gear often breaks at the weakest point, and that is the gear you mentioned. It is not designed to be particularly stable, so the gears break as soon as the brewing group stalls. I recommend making sure that the brewing group is always running smoothly.
@@yt.myworks My gear actually breaks on the part that drives the biggest gear, which I assume is a timing gear. Even if the brewer group stalls completely, it should not break at the part driving the timing gear and that should not make it get out of sync either. If the brewer group is the cause, I'm probably wrong about that gear being a timing gear. But in that case, the actual motor controlling the gear should have some kind of closed loop controller since it doesn't appear to be some kind of stepper motor. And lastly, if the main binding causing trouble occurs at the last part of the cycle, while "backing out" the brewing group, the brewing group should be just shy of fully retracted when done, not passed fully retracted as mine have been. But assuming you fixed your issue by fixing the brewing group and not replacing the drive unit, that indicates that I am completely wrong anyway.
@christianswahn9465 I was really lucky that the gear was still working and didn't need a replacement. You're absolutely right, the motor should actually have a fuse that interrupts the rotation if necessary and then resets it to the starting position. Siemens has recognized the problem and is introducing an electronically controlled transmission starting with the EQ 700 model. Unfortunately, the control system in the EQ 500 model is still completely mechanical and without sensors that could prevent the gears from breaking out.
I had the problem with the shaft not returning to the correct place. After I disassembled it and aligning the holes with each other, the drive gear keep seizing. It's almost like the gear ratio is off so it gets jammed. Do you know what might cause this?
Have you inserted the spindle correctly? See in minute 25:25 how it has to be used.
@@yt.myworks Yes, the spindle and brewing unit works without a problem and moves easily. I started the machine while having the gear box opened and the drive gear seems to drift left as soon as the electric motor starts which makes it tilt and then jam. I got it to work one time, no idea how, but then the timing gear was wrong and after opening it up and adjusting the timing gear the drive gear again refuses to move to the correct gear ratio/placement. It's driving me crazy to say the least... It just baffles me that one of the main parts (the gear box) has such a stupid assembly.
Hi, I know it's a stupid construction but you should keep calm, then you'll make it. One question, did you replace the hose? This is very important because the old hose cannot build up tension with a kink. Without a certain tension, the brewing group gets stuck, which is why I used a stainless steel spring inside.
@@yt.myworks No, I didn't replace the hose but it does not have a kink anyways so I don't think that's the issue. The problem occurs directly after powering the machine on. The pump doesn't even get the chance to start and build up pressure in the water line.
I've more or less given up on the machine and have contacted Siemens to get a repair because something seems of, if it's the motor shaft being crooked or the drive gear broken, who knows. Something in the start of the gearbox is off which makes all the drive gear get jammed.
I've also tried powering it on without the brewing unit to localize the issue and remove other possible causes and the same problem occurs. However because there's no resistance in the gear box the drive gear doesn't jam but gets pressed upwards until it looses contact with the gear connected to the brewing unit, jumps out of place and gets stuck on top of the motor shaft making a bunch of noise. I've almost started to suspect that the issue lies within the drive gear cover not holding the drive gear in place which enables the drive gear to move horizontally.
How exactly did you polish the display? have you used all three bottles from the set you posted?
For the display I used Menzerna Medium Cut Polish 2500 + Super Finish 3500.

Wer hat die Maschine konstruiert? Wie schlicht und einfach dagegen eine Delonghi zu warten und reparieren ist. ich hoffe, niemand kommt auf die idee so einen Bullshit neu zu kaufen
An sich ist der Ansatz die Brühkammer vom Rest der Maschine komplett zu trennen nicht schlecht. Kein anderer Hersteller macht es so konsequent. Leider ist die Konstruktion der Brühgruppe mit dem unglücklichen Schlauch nicht zu Ende gedacht :(
Dzień dobry.Film rewelacyjny.Ale po ustawieniu zębatek zgodnie ze instrukcją po uruchomieniu ekspresu i wykonaniu 1 kawy znowu napęd ustawił się w złej pozycji.Czy to może być wina tych mikrowyłączników w napędzie? 2 razy przestawiałem napęd i za każdym razem po uruchomieniu wracał do złej pozycji.
Witam, ważne jest aby po wyciągnięciu zaparzacza napęd dojechał do pozycji wyjściowej. Później można dopiero przestawić zębatki. Przyczyną tej awarii jest w mojej ocenie blokujący się zaparzacz.
25:25 W świeta będę mial trochę wolnego czasu to ustawię ten napęd ponownie i puszczę kilka razy bez zaparzacza ciekawe czy znowu się przestawi.

Witam, też mi się nie udało znaleźć nowej uszczelki, wyczyściłem i włożyłem starą. Z reguły nie są zużyte, zalecam trochę smaru silikonowego w miejscu uszczelniającym tłok.

Hallo, überprüfe den schwarzen Schlauch an der Brühgruppe auf Dichtigkeit. Was aber noch sein kann, ist das Überdruck Ventil an der Wasserpumpe das zu wenig Gegendruck erzeugt. In diesem Fall musst du die Stahlfeder im Ventil etwas auseinander ziehen.

@@robertl8887 Der Schlauch muss aber nicht unbedingt undicht sein. Versuche einen Kaffee zu machen mit geöffneter Tür dann siehst Du wo das Wasser her kommt.
@@yt.myworkses läuft vom Kolben runter und von dem geknickten Schlauch. Die Dichtung des Kolbens Wechsel ich aber alle 3 Monate, werde die brühgruppe mal zerlegen und reinigen mit deinem Video

Die Maschine ist es nicht wert. Früher oder später wird der Antrieb sich verstellen und auch nach der Reparatur kommt das Problem wieder. Selbst ein neuer Antrieb ist irgendwann hinüber. Habe das schon hinter mir.
Das stimmt, hat sich neulich bei meiner Maschine das Getriebe auch wieder verstellt. Werde noch mit der Brühgruppe experimentieren. Bei neueren Geräten wurden manche Komponente aus der BG weggelassen, anscheinend sucht Siemens auch noch nach einer Lösung 😃.
@@yt.myworks ich habe meine defekte Antriebseinheit getunt. Habe extra Einsätze aus Alu und Kunststoff gedreht. Die Toleranzen zwischen den Zahnrädern bzw. deren Axialführungen, sind viel zu grob. Bei mir waren es 0,5mm Spiel pro Richtung. Wenn dann Kräfte durch die BG dazukommen, ist es kein Wunder das der Antrieb irgendwann aufgibt.
Bei der eq.700 wurde die Verriegelung 25:42 weggelassen. Ich denke das die Bremse 35:05 auch unnötig ist solange die Edelstahlfeder im Schlauch steckt.
@@yt.myworksdie Verriegelung ist ja eigentlich auch unnötig. Ich habe eine Feder außen am Schlauch. Jedoch bleibe ich dabei, das der Antrieb einfach zu schlecht ist. Ist vielleicht auch Glückssache.
Also, die Verriegelung habe ich ausgebaut - läuft soweit alles normal.
