    I watched the whole video. My mother 91 years old said that her mother used to weave small chairs, baskets, furniture from the stem of a grass type thing that grows in my yard but she wishes that she had watched how her mother did it. This video is probably pretty close. Thanks.

      x2malandy Cool family memory :) A lot of these plaits have been handed down through generations, so it's quite likely your grandmother probably used a few of them in her weavings. For baskets and chairs she was probably using something a little more in depth like a spiral weave, or else what they call "ribbon" plaits, often using 7 stems or more.

    This is very cool. How do you prevent the wheat from molding after it has been soaked in water?

      Honestly, I've never had a problem with them molding. What makes them mold is continually wetting them, so as long as you only soak them once, and leave your finished weaving in an open-air spot until it's fully dry, they should dry mold free.
