The more I see your yucca forest the more I like it! It will be interesting to see how the plants develop after this major pruning. Enjoyed the chicken update. And, the bonsai updates were great as well. Have you ever tried using cinnamon as a bonsai cut sealer? We use that as a sealer in orchid growing whenever we make a cut on on orchid.
Im sipping on a Mocca Watching Nigel trim his Yukka Your such a clever fella Is that pot by Isabella Most likely it is not However still a lovely pot Promise i won't tell her!
Very Nice Nigel! Elmers Is a Borden's Dairy product Elmer was the Bull, Elsie was the Cow(wife) and the teenage Calf was the chocolate milk ambassador. To be fair I always felt that the association of Bulls and Glue to be more than a little suspect. Poor Elmer.
Thanks Nigel for inspiring videos. Inspired by your videos I have also started to grow bonsai in a small scale. One thing I want to request that at the end of your video just show clipping of before and after pruning view so that viewers can see the difference. Thanks a lot
I think the Yucca's will indeed,do fine in a while or so,in fact all of your trees will, becouse they are confident with your care and attention,I can tell!. And the chickenhouse, its just ,I love it,the chickens as well, they are cute and thriving, too. Feels like a good place to live and be, all together.! Thanks for sharing!
Oh my God I just found you I can’t stand it you the music the artistry it’s so relaxing therapeutic interesting I’ve never done bonsai before but I’m gonna try it I’ll keep watching
Someone: "Hey here's some sealing paste especially developed for Bonsai. It's cheap, seals perfect, looks good and it's even antifungal!" Nigel: "No, I take wood glue!" 😁
To be honest, it makes sense to me! You can get a more even seal using glue and it's easier to peel away when dried. I actually have a lot of problems getting my sealing paste to stick properly, and I feel like an improper seal is just begging for some kind of rot over time.
@@williamaitken7533 Everyone can do what he likes. But have you ever tried Kaneshin Paste? Great product, pretty cheap (i think cheaper than wood glue), lasts long, easy to apply (like wood glue) and you dont have to peel it off cause it becomes translucent, when it dries up. But sure you can use wood glue. It works Ok. But for me Kaneshin is definetely the better product. I was not my intension to provoke bad feelings. Read it with humour! ;)
Those two main yuccas have some alien looking trunks. Love them. I remember last time you pruned the forest. It looked awesome once the new leaves started to grow. Great updates too!
very unique. i love it. thank you for sharing. maybe next time you cut it, consider cutting at an angle so the scars will be less noticeable over time and will show better taper. I dont mind scars on my bonsais (i think they give great character) but many bonsai artists try to avoid them.
The trunks are amazing! I actually like how the previous cut fattens and the new shoot makes the branches sort of step up. It's blocky, like minecraft. LOL
Namaste Nigel sir. i think first time ever I m seeing you applying something on hard pruned surface area..never i saw this in any past vedios of other type of trees😃
I used to hate yukkas. I chopped mine down. Dug up another. The one I chopped grew back new shoots. It clearly wants to live so I feel kinda bad for it now. I'm going to dig it up, pot it up and turn it into a bonsai
Nice cuts Nigel. I think a camp site or a tent would look good in the negative ground on the right hand side of the Yukka forest, like an african village. What do you think?
You always inspire me to bonsai trees and plants :D thanks for making these videos showcasing tropical and non-traditional species :) really neat
So many videos lately! Its awesome! My wife and I watch when the baby is napping!
I been watching u for few years now aye love how even ur hair is Bonsai now!!
I'm looking forward to an update video on this tree when the branches sprout back.
Nigel, your Yucca forest looks like it was blasted in a Star Wars fight! Love it.

Massive big cuts .. and massive cuttings (or carnage 🤣). Great job Nigel!
Emily: ‘I HAVE THE SAME GLUE AS YOU NIGEL!!!!’
I like wood glue also on big cuts. Great stuff.
Great cuttings to hand out to your bonsai club or to start a new one for you.
That is an amazing pot !!!

I love this forest! One of my favorite progression forests you have in my opinion

Wow! That is fantastic. Did not expect such beauty
Someone: "Hey here's some sealing paste especially developed for Bonsai. It's cheap, seals perfect, looks good and it's even antifungal!"
Nigel: "No, I take wood glue!"
😁
It's not even wood glue, it's Elmer's school glue.

Oh wow!! How huge those yucca trees hav grown , especially d biggest 1 has developed a great taper , it's a beautiful forest!!!

Great updates too!
The stumps remind me of the Easter Islands. You know, the walking giants.
Wow those were really big cuts !
Like them yuccas and that rootflare on the main tree is awesome.
Wow, the base on the main tree is bananas! Looking good, and happy bday!
Great theory on the pruning on why you pruned it the way you did. Looks like a plant from another planet. Cool.
You are very cool and interesting and something you don’t see every day and I like that
The Blue Ash is looking great! So are the oaks with the smaller leaves. There is so much potential there!
very unique. i love it. thank you for sharing.

The Yucca forest sure looks bare but the trunks looks great. Love the wind chimes!
Tree update on your trees all growing good. Nice.

Nigel what's update on premna bonsai..?
I used to hate yukkas. I chopped mine down. Dug up another. The one I chopped grew back new shoots. It clearly wants to live so I feel kinda bad for it now. I'm going to dig it up, pot it up and turn it into a bonsai
Awesome, the world needs more Yucca bonsai!!!
Does Laura have to trim the feathers around the Silky's eyes?
Love, love your videos...Can you tell me the name of the cutter you use for the cuttings?...Thank you again Nigel !
Wow, what great cuttings to share, or start a new forest yourself.
Nice cuts Nigel.
I think a camp site or a tent would look good in the negative ground on the right hand side of the Yukka forest, like an african village.
What do you think?
Nigel, When pruning Yucca plants, do you need to chop all the branches off to promote new growth, i.e. do not leave any leave?
Have u ever tried chicken manure as compost for bonsai
After a hard pruning, do you put the cuttings in water to regrow them?
What kind of white glue do you use?
Is there a certain time of year you do this hard pruning?
Elmer's glue for sealant? That's alot cheaper than automotive gasket silicone 😅
You know you gotta chop that white pine back to the one bud... you need to take any opportunity you get for taper with that thing lol
those little silkies have your hair! lol The black one is result of genetic mutation maybe! neat!
Hi Nigel! If you sell the cuttings you might get back your money from the "50 Dollar Challange" 😁
big leafs difficult with proportions !!
All mine died over the winter. I must not have protected them enough. It gets cold.
I didn't know you could use Elmer's glue (pva) to cover the cuts on trees you make
Damn you love to just go backwards and never progress
What did you tell your barber? Give me the yucca cut ✂️
I wonder if it would give more movement if the cuts were at a steeper angle.
Maybe, I did angled cuts on the initial chops and they worked well!
On the next repotting you should try cooking the roots. Very delicious and, why not??? They're edible and well taken care of :)
the tree in the front left looks like a beautiful pregnant woman dancing with (chubby) arms in the air.
Is it just me or does part of the tree base look like a lady wearing a dress??
👍👌🍎🙂
Hi
Foist
Secundo
I dont get this as a bonsai # confused.
What is a bonsai?
@@TheBonsaiZone can you ever get the leaves small enough so that it is in proportion and therfore looks like a miniature tree?
@@johnrb9397 I think so, as I get more branching the leaf size should drop!
Emily’s reaction and how she watches Nigel 🤣: ua-cam.com/video/7jaclnBNS5E/v-deo.html
