Some great tips here - very well communicated. Would be great to see the end product too.
I actually posted up the end result on my FB page but yeah I should probably do a quick follow-up video showing the jig in place and what I did with it. It's maiden voyage was a small run of 100 business cards and swapping them in and out was a breeze.
Loving these skill builder videos so far, thank you. Learned a ton.
Love the tips provided in the video. Thank you
I saw things in lb on this video that I never knew existed. Multiply ur length and with. I never knew that was an option. Lots of other things as well. Ty. Very well done.
Glad I could help. I recommend taking a look at one of my other videos here to learn about some of the functionality of the width, height and x/y position boxes. ua-cam.com/video/9e2hjxZoE-4/v-deo.html
Thanks a bunch, this was very informative and easy to follow!! Learned a ton, THANK YOU
Great to hear! You're welcome.
Nice workflow. Thanks for sharing 👍
My pleasure!
Great video!! Thanks
Great video, thank you for sharing. Do you have any tips for getting the artwork to accurately align to the jig once it is cut and bolted to the table?
Getting the artwork to align in the jig is pretty straight forward. Lock the shapes for the jig so you don't accidentally move them and then just position your artwork accordingly. The hard part for me was getting the jig aligned with reality on the laser since I cut the jig for one laser on a different laser. If it were doing this all on one laser, I could just do my first cut from a reference point and always start from there. Does that make sense?
@@thetinkerverse It totally makes sense. This jig to reality is the part that stumps me too. I am trying to figure out the easiest method to get that alignment perfect(or at least acceptable) without hundreds of test burns and trial and errors. Getting the fiber aligned precisely to dead center on the bed seems like a logical first step to me.
Once I screwed the jig down I just used a couple of scrap pieces and kept burning designs over them until I got the on-screen position to match the reality of the jig. Then I locked the jig tool layer and saved it for future projects. From there I just started dropping content into the locked jig on screen and seems to be good to go now.

@@thetinkerverse hmmm, could be a good follow up video... I'll play with it, thanks so much for your help.
At timestamp 9:33, if you would not have ungrouped the shapes, you could have Subtract all in once action rather than ungroup, ungroup and Subtract 6 times 😉
You are correct. Boolean subtract on those grouped shapes would have worked. For some reason I tend to forget you can boolean on groups so that's my bad and thanks for the call out :)
Would it be possible to get the Lightburn File for this? Thank You. Jim
Hi Jim. I'm actually a bit torn on this one to be honest. I have no problem sharing the file but the hope is that the videos I'm creating help others learn to make these for themselves. This was a pretty quick process to setup and allowed me to create some templates at various stages along the way.
If you really need the file, you can reach out to me directly but I would encourage you to try to replicate the steps here as well.
@@thetinkerverse Problem is I’m handicapped. Had two full knee replacements done. I can’t sit for any period of time or my knees just start yelling at me. You decide. Either way, thank you
