It seems people forget that Jimmy Page played relatively clean. He had some nice tube amp breakup going but nothing at all like that fucking annoying heavy metal sound of a thousand pissed off bees in an aluminum barrel.
Id like to buy it, but instead of gibson logo id go for my own design, and If not, id choose headstock without any logo. Its a very good looking and sounding guitar, i think it is worth the money, but supporting fakes is not right.
For a $318 guitar, hell thats one good pick up. Nice insight into the double knock off of the century. Lets hope Kiss ( Gene and Paul ) can have the balls to have Peter Criss and Ace at the induction of the band. That's going to be a real test of their heavy metal. Kiss has influenced so many other bands and musicians, they made you proud to pick up a guitar and be a little bit different.

I've only been playing guitar for 41 years and worked in a music store for 10 years (and we were a Gibson dealer), so no, never played a Les Paul. I imagine that all my riffs would be even better, my tone just incredible and I would probably initiate world peace. But we'll never know, will we?
terrible copy....Some of the Gibson copies have to e glanced at again to spot, but this one isn't even close. I've explained on many of these videos how these Chinese do as good a job as they do, and some people still believe they are getting turned out in huts somewhere (which may be true on some of them). All of these "higher quality" copies are made by people who copied all the specs and details in the Epiphone factory. This is what American companies get for undercutting the American workforce by giving manufacturing contracts to China. The Chinese factory owners will openly admit to stealing American intellectual property.

I recently sold 2 Les Paul Epiphones that weren´t that bad to buy a REAL Les Paul, and that is something I justify based on the quality of a real Gibson and how much I play it, but not for a double neck... I might even buy a chibson Black beauty

That Zager guitar ad is good and all, but if you play guitar with consistency then hand strength comes to you and finger calluses build in no time. Any well set up guitar will play easy. Personally I prefer Gibson acoustic models- first guitar at age 12 was a ' GIBSON LG-0 Acoustic Guitar 1965 Mahogany Body '. An excellent guitar for so many styles and has a very medieval acoustic quality. Playing all of Rush Caress of Steel on that little guitar was what it was all about! Have had a B-25 in the family since 66', brother has a Dove, I had a Hummingbird I sort of hated. The best acoustic I ever played was a well set up late 60's J-45 at the now defunct JJ's guitars in Columbus Ohio. Best electric ever played was a sunburst Les Paul ( early 60's?) that was with a 70'-ish Marshall 1/2 stack my friend from Oceanway Studio was modifying in our apartment for Brad Whitford. Pure heaven, and why Gibson and Marshall have been and always will be the best IMO.
Dude, you are awsome, you need to check out Scott Fernandez who does some mean bass playing.. I'm talkin bout a guy who can play a mean 18 string BASS. With your skills, you both would be an awsome combo. Well, I can sing pretty soulfully but if that is out of the question, still, you guys could do some awsome music together.
Another thing for those who think they are getting a deal on one of these, unless you are a trained Luthier or have basic skills you can expect to spend hundreds more on it by having it set up properly, (fret dressing, intonation, etc..) if not then you must be starting out because all of these i've heard out of the box sound terrible.
Look up the video of The Captain Meets Bernie Marsden (Again!) . At 29:05 Bernie Marsden brings out s SG double neck. He get some sounds out of it I have never heard. The video came out on Dec 17, 2016
I ordered one with the long tailpiece. Should have it in about 2 months. I have all new pots, tuners, wire harnesses, switches and pickups for it. 6-string are Seymour Duncans-same as the Gibson earlier Page version by Gibson, for the 12 string im using Gibson 490/498, same as Pages double neck. Also changing out the knobs with the correct units, and the rod covers that say custom.
man I love that intro to closer to the heart ive just been given a 70s japanese 12 string acoustic with a broken bridge it cost me £100 to have it refurbished by my luthier, gonna be learning alot of 12 string stuff from now on!!

the chorus characteristic that is favored on a 12 string comes from the out of tune hence its important that they be out of tune slightly...six saddles for twelve strings.
Flip the bridge, yea could work. But if those nuts are stock plastic MiC nuts I'd look into replacing those and I think that will help with the intonation too. All my MiC guitars have been impossible to intonate until I replaced the nut. They just don't cut them right over there and I think they use machines that are not calibrated correctly. It's get-the-product-out-the-door-fast mentality on certain guitars. I ordered one in dark purple left hand a couple of days ago. It is close to impossible to find a left hand double neck from Gibson, the one I found cost 10.500$ there is no way in heck I'm paying that. The 3.300$ I used on my Black Beauty was quite enough. I'm happy I was even able to get a double neck Gibson-like. PS: @11:55 is that a little Rock Bottom by Kiss? Love it :)
I been looking for an ibanez 2350 (les paul copy). I love those guitars ever since i played my friend's older brother's friend's when i was like 13. I have no problem with copies. I can't see spending $3000 on ANY guitar no matter how nice, especially with the decline in quality from gibson lately. I'm scared to buy a chibson tho. Just don't know what you're gonna get. I might muster up the courage one day though.
I had the Epiphone version. Cool guitar but I sold it because it was nose-heavy. It just got to be too much of a hassle to hold the headstock end up while playing,
Mine came with a rough patch on the back of the six string neck as well, they totally missed buffing it for some reason. My pickguards were also missmatched, one gloss and the other matte. Wiring, don't even get me started, ha ha. Lots of work ahead to make this a decent player, but you have to expect that with these.
Can't realize , it's all maple not mahagony , as SG standard ? To be honest, newer try to play 12 '' guitar ! Sound great , could imagine , under Chorus , or Fazer !?
I think it goes much deeper with Nirvana although I agree regarding KISS. However Nirvana changed the face of music for better or worse. Definitely worthy of the HoF.
just in case,if anyone want a really cool electric guitar for a small price but still have nice quality,i suggest you try CORT guitars.they have this CR series of guitars starting from CR50 to CR280 that look exactly like les pauls!
I dunno, man. Nirvana is the band that dug mainstream rock music out of a pretty bleak rut created by bands who were (safe to say) partly inspired by Kiss' pageantry. I appreciate Kiss, but I don't see how you can downplay the importance of Nirvana. I don't think mainstream listeners could endure another decade of glam, which would inevitably be watered down even further by the industry.

Nirvana made better music and achieved higher in their short time than KISS ever could. Bad music is not fixed by flashy shows and throwing up blood. Nirvana was way better.
I agree that Kiss should be inducted, but to say that Nirvana had 1 original hit song is simply wrong. They in fact have had 4 #1 *albums* let alone songs. But the statistics probably don't matter that much. Justin Bieber has probably sold more records than both. Should he be inducted? The fact is that in the early 90's, Nirvana was the biggest rock band in the world and were a huge influence on an entire generation's worth of music (much like Kiss were decades earlier).
Different bands, but Nirvana wasn't going anywhere fast and that's mainly due to kurt being mopey all the time, Dave Grohl has said that and while he said it was great times the band was suffering as well. you have to remember that Nirvana only has 1 original hit song and the rest are covers. Where as kiss 40 50 years later can still pack a stadium, not many bands that last can still do that these days.

I hadn't watched all the video yet. But I noticed you have to look very carefully at those double necks. They're made different depending. The one you have is made just like an Epiphone from the cutaways to the placement of the tailpiece. There's other ones where the cutaways are a little wider than usual and the tailpiece is closer up like a Gibson double neck.
Well its our money and our choice.. so whether we r buying real gibsons or chibsons does it really matter?? Who is to judge us?? Not happy with fakes?? Just dont buy it and move on.. making a video to show the world how bad other peoples product is doesnt make us a saint!!!

A Gibson double neck is $5000-$7000. The Epiphone equivalent is $1300. The Chibson is $300. Chibson for the win.
Dude, you are awsome, you need to check out Scott Fernandez who does some mean bass playing.. I'm talkin bout a guy who can play a mean 18 string BASS. With your skills, you both would be an awsome combo. Well, I can sing pretty soulfully but if that is out of the question, still, you guys could do some awsome music together.
Another thing for those who think they are getting a deal on one of these, unless you are a trained Luthier or have basic skills you can expect to spend hundreds more on it by having it set up properly, (fret dressing, intonation, etc..) if not then you must be starting out because all of these i've heard out of the box sound terrible.

I ordered one with the long tailpiece. Should have it in about 2 months. I have all new pots, tuners, wire harnesses, switches and pickups for it. 6-string are Seymour Duncans-same as the Gibson earlier Page version by Gibson, for the 12 string im using Gibson 490/498, same as Pages double neck. Also changing out the knobs with the correct units, and the rod covers that say custom.
I have a normal full size accordion that weighs as much as a double neck + a Les Paul. So 13lbs is really no big deal if you have a good wide strap.
Looks good but the Gibson logo's look smaller than the real deal, esp on the 12 string. BUT, for less than $400, what do you want?
man I love that intro to closer to the heart ive just been given a 70s japanese 12 string acoustic with a broken bridge it cost me £100 to have it refurbished by my luthier, gonna be learning alot of 12 string stuff from now on!!

Most of the Haters dont have one..the went and got Fleeced by Gibson for a couple thousand bucks and now get pissed when you get a comparable guitar or even better for a tiny fraction of the cost..and before you go jamming your foot in your mouths {For the haters} Know this, ALL Epiphones come right out of those SAME facotries and most of "THE REAL" Gibson parts...they can buy every damn part from China slap it together in Tenn....and paste Made in USA and its perfectly legal and IS DONE...{Dean KICKS the sopbox down the road}.
the chorus characteristic that is favored on a 12 string comes from the out of tune hence its important that they be out of tune slightly...six saddles for twelve strings.
Flip the bridge, yea could work. But if those nuts are stock plastic MiC nuts I'd look into replacing those and I think that will help with the intonation too. All my MiC guitars have been impossible to intonate until I replaced the nut. They just don't cut them right over there and I think they use machines that are not calibrated correctly. It's get-the-product-out-the-door-fast mentality on certain guitars. I ordered one in dark purple left hand a couple of days ago. It is close to impossible to find a left hand double neck from Gibson, the one I found cost 10.500$ there is no way in heck I'm paying that. The 3.300$ I used on my Black Beauty was quite enough. I'm happy I was even able to get a double neck Gibson-like. PS: @11:55 is that a little Rock Bottom by Kiss? Love it :)

I been looking for an ibanez 2350 (les paul copy). I love those guitars ever since i played my friend's older brother's friend's when i was like 13. I have no problem with copies. I can't see spending $3000 on ANY guitar no matter how nice, especially with the decline in quality from gibson lately. I'm scared to buy a chibson tho. Just don't know what you're gonna get. I might muster up the courage one day though.

I had the Epiphone version. Cool guitar but I sold it because it was nose-heavy. It just got to be too much of a hassle to hold the headstock end up while playing,
Mine came with a rough patch on the back of the six string neck as well, they totally missed buffing it for some reason. My pickguards were also missmatched, one gloss and the other matte. Wiring, don't even get me started, ha ha. Lots of work ahead to make this a decent player, but you have to expect that with these.

I think it goes much deeper with Nirvana although I agree regarding KISS. However Nirvana changed the face of music for better or worse. Definitely worthy of the HoF.
just in case,if anyone want a really cool electric guitar for a small price but still have nice quality,i suggest you try CORT guitars.they have this CR series of guitars starting from CR50 to CR280 that look exactly like les pauls!

I dunno, man. Nirvana is the band that dug mainstream rock music out of a pretty bleak rut created by bands who were (safe to say) partly inspired by Kiss' pageantry. I appreciate Kiss, but I don't see how you can downplay the importance of Nirvana. I don't think mainstream listeners could endure another decade of glam, which would inevitably be watered down even further by the industry.

Nirvana made better music and achieved higher in their short time than KISS ever could. Bad music is not fixed by flashy shows and throwing up blood. Nirvana was way better.
I agree that Kiss should be inducted, but to say that Nirvana had 1 original hit song is simply wrong. They in fact have had 4 #1 *albums* let alone songs. But the statistics probably don't matter that much. Justin Bieber has probably sold more records than both. Should he be inducted?
The fact is that in the early 90's, Nirvana was the biggest rock band in the world and were a huge influence on an entire generation's worth of music (much like Kiss were decades earlier).
Different bands, but Nirvana wasn't going anywhere fast and that's mainly due to kurt being mopey all the time, Dave Grohl has said that and while he said it was great times the band was suffering as well. you have to remember that Nirvana only has 1 original hit song and the rest are covers.
Where as kiss 40 50 years later can still pack a stadium, not many bands that last can still do that these days.

Nice sounding one. But, why not run this 12-string through a slightly crunchy distortion? That`s what I always wanted to do, but I can`t with these acoustic 12-strings =)
I hadn't watched all the video yet. But I noticed you have to look very carefully at those double necks. They're made different depending. The one you have is made just like an Epiphone from the cutaways to the placement of the tailpiece. There's other ones where the cutaways are a little wider than usual and the tailpiece is closer up like a Gibson double neck.
Well its our money and our choice.. so whether we r buying real gibsons or chibsons does it really matter?? Who is to judge us?? Not happy with fakes?? Just dont buy it and move on.. making a video to show the world how bad other peoples product is doesnt make us a saint!!!

I was looking at buying a Mexican Fender Strat HSS with a maple neck and ended up buying a Epiphone Les Paul 1960 tribute plus (beauty of a guitar), can u give me your opinion of both after you read up any specs and maybe play a Strat with HSS setup. Thx.
