I keep my grandma company when I'm off from school and she will tell me the same story's about 20 times but I never complain because I love her. She will never be lonely if I have anything to say about it.
My daughter met a billionaire and dumped me .only wanted me for a sitter for years blocked me from my grandkids phones..guess I'm no longer good enough..miss my grandkids !! Your a sweet person..
My aunt is 71 and i always visit her whenever i can just to hang out with her and drive her where she wants to go. We go to dinner and bingo. We have a blast. I love my aunt so very much

As a HCA myself, i often get the common phrase from people who say: "oh all you do is wipe arse for a living"..... sadly they are so naive about the profession.. healthcare with older persons is so much more than that, you are giving quality care but most importantly a person centred level of care ensuring they can live with independence as much as possible. you are giving clients care, dignity, companionship and trust. tbh majority of my clients i would even call good friends.
I am nearing 80, live alone on a small island off Ireland. Very isolated indeed but never lonely and not seeking anyone dropping in. My days are well filled and enjoyed although I am semi bedbound. I t is the attitude to solitude? That it is always a bad thing? I knit, read, watch youtube ( ditched the TV decades ago) potter a little in the garden when I can... after all, if we cannot stand our own company? I call one person on the phone many days. Deeply content at this age to be alone.
You are indeed lucky to live in such a peaceful place I hope you have someone to call if you get into trouble. I crave the lifestyle you live but do not have the means to obtain it good luck to you.
Why is it you are bedbound? Sorry about that. Otherwise I think you live a full and diverse life. I am 76 and in January I moved from Louisiana USA after 45 years, to Ghana W Africa, my only son had moved here 8years ago. I am busy to adjust and give new meaning to my life. No time to be lonely.

@@ednaperhach2769 Why don't you meditate while you are alone? You could make friends, you have internet. I am a Buddhist but I am taking care of my catholic parents in law. Crikey, I do understand the sentiment of this very, very important issue but there are two sides to this. Many people don’t necessarily live near their parents due to jobs etc. You work full time, long hours and you have young kids. You take them to umpteen activities after school, have their friends over, cook, chores, do homework with the children, have time enjoying your family, then it’s bath and bed. Weekends you take your parents out, then you do the same for your in laws. Around spending quality time with your husband and children. You just do your best. It’s not simply about abandonment of the elderly. It’s about putting your children’s and husbands needs first, then fitting in as much as you can around them. There are twenty four hours in a day.
Milzi JexIit’s a juggling act. I want my kids to follow their dreams, do well at school, work hard and get good jobs. But those jobs and when they have families of their own will mean that their free time will be limited to a certain extent. It. will probably mean that they dont work 9-5 and live in the same street as me. That is why it is important to preserve as much of your independence as possible and keep in touch with other people who live nearby. You cannot have your children as your only focus. That’s not fair to them.
Thank you for sharing your experiences, it must not be easy talking about these challenges you faced. Especially with the global pandemic making it a lot more challenging to see each other since staying at home lessens the risk of getting the virus. We're really thankful for technology as it helped us connect older adults to each other through Reviving Mind's programs and the help of our health and wellness programs. We're all one step closer to beating loneliness, let's all help each other stay happy and healthy. You are never alone and we're here to help.

I hope the elderly have a backup plan for pets. That is to have someone check on the elderly every day if possible and come and see how the animal is doing if they haven't heard from the person.
There`s so many things you can do, especially when you got a nice home ! People fall in to the same kind of mind, I think when your old you should listen to ambience and spiritual things.. animals, plants, art, decorating a healing place where you feel good, little water features are good !
In some countries they combine elderly houses and nurseries, that would be great if they did it here too.. they are such lovely people, I'd really wish to be their friend, I don't see this sincerity among my age people.. these ladies look so cute, decent, their language is nectar to my ears )))👍👍
There are rare documentaries about loneliness in general made in America. It shows what a low priority it is here. Depression gets more and more common. Depression stemming from loneliness would be alleviated by simply keeping someone company, but the pharmaceutical companies want to keep selling their pills.
I love you. Sorry am so far away from your home. I live in the Trinidad West Indies. I know how you are feeling now. England have change for the worst.
I worry about elderly people having so much furniture and so many things to trip over. We took all of my mother's carpets up so she wouldn't stumble when she got old butt she was 90 and still doing the best she could but someone was always looming in case she needed us
It's difficult being the spouse who stays home due to disability . I used to be very independent and active but my multiple sclerosis has progressed and now I can't walk.
Loneliness is a problem for younger people too. There are young people who don’t have any friends or family. From the ages of 35 to 39 I never saw a single friend or had any visitors come to my house at all and didn’t see any of my family. I met a man and am now married but I still don’t have anyone else … I recall being a student and living alone and had I died in my flat no one would know for months. I haven’t seen my mother for 7 years because she lives nearly 600 miles away. The only place I get to see people is when I am working.
There are day centres available for the elderly and lonely. I do hope she attends one, they're great. I take my grandad there, but they also have a collection service available.
We used to have some support for old folk as in weekly lunches in a hall or day trips out. Now, all has been cut and denied. People would help out to ferry the older folk around. Even the free television licence is to be denied for the over 75s. Many old people cannot afford the high tv licence fee. What an uncivilised and callous society in which we live, where adult children are in denial that their ageing parents need help and need company. Shame on those adult children who say they are too busy to care about their old mum or dad. They, themselves, will be old one day and as the saying goes, what goes around comes around. Time for old folk to complain about the rotten treatment they get from all quarters and to add to it, receive the lowest old age pension in the civilised world.
I think we should make an effort too to talk to others. The lady can't get to church - what about the Church friends come for her. I know they do here where I live. It is a bit difficult if you are housebound. There are careers and I think they can help you out to clubs. It is important to get out if you are able for fresh air, for exercise for change of scenery. People do care, there are clubs and places you can go. They are lunch clubs everywhere. You can have lunch, games, bingo, chats and friendships for a very small charge for the food, just £3 or so. Don't wait too long.
In my country there's a saying... A mother can take care of ten children but those very children won't be able to to take care of mom when she's old. Sigh...its true.
It is sad that the elderly suffer so much in Western cultures - they get forgotten and cast aside. The younger ppl are not interested in them, don’t have patience or empathy for them. The fellow elderlies, are not interested in learning about you. It is important to have a close relationship with God because an elderly must not and cannot rely on anybody but one’s self and God. In some ways, having dementia might not be such a bad thing.
The elderly must have some contact each day or two days not only for themselves but if they have a pet and no one discovers their body for ages, the animals would be in deep distress. They must make provision for their pets if the unthinkable should happen.
It's the people who are in deep distress you idiot you wouldn't know loneliness if it slapped your face, wish I could clueless dick head we don't need your stupid comments we don't need your stupidity at all go visit a old person tomorrow and pet their animals if you wish but it's the people who matter first and may you be cursed with loneliness and suffer until you learn your lesson.
I'm 57 yrs old, and lonely. I'm married to a good man, but he's at work most days, and busy with many other things. I feel like an odd ball.Too young for the nursin home, too old for other married women to bother with. Both my parents are now gone, and our family is scattered to the 4 winds. I'm too nervous to drive much, I have some health problems, am somewhat disabled, get tired out by mid-afternoon., and just really don't feel like goin places much. So I while away the days doin light chores, and needleworks, and lookin at UA-cam. We have 2 dogs , but I get lonely for simple companionship, and sometimes I need some help with chores. But alas!-I've fallen through the cracks. My younger daughter is comin to live with me in a few months, I'm happy to report, but she'll be workin, and will have her friends to visit with. So what can we do?
Kaite San Hi, Katie. How are you these days? Couple of months ago I had emergency surgery for a hernia and blocked bowel. Barely survived it, okay now. My 13 yr old dog Lucy was in such a bad shape we had to have her put to sleep. I miss her so much! I've been embroideryin a lot. Do you have hobbies?
I'm 76 and my, so called, best friend of 12 years has recently ghosted me in favour of her neighbour! I even bought her a car that cost me £8,000! I've been a loyal and generous friend to her but now feel so used and lonely. At least I have my two dogs! 👍🇬🇧

I am afraid about my future, I couldn't have children because I have a genetic muscle disorder I have a boyfriend that loves me very much. I love socialize but it is too hard for my health conditon I am in bed most of my time
I took care of my parents. Two brothers-nothing. Wasnt easy. Then 2 other people, non family. Their family fo almost nothing. Caring for elderly should be a team effort. Too much for one person. What seldom is said of the caretaker. I have no one to relate to. Here 24/7 with a demented senior. Not much worthwhile conversation. Deal with mental illness is no fun. I occasionally have someone of sound mind to converse with. I spend much time lonly because of caretaking. Few want to visit because the demented senior interferes with my visitations. I have to take her along anywhere I go. My main conversations daily is-what the neighbors are doing, when they come and go and if their house lights are on and who has died and whos still alive. Cant even have a pet! Exytemely boring for me. As she ages more and worsens with memory, my life passing me by because none of her family does squat! By the time she dies I may be in her situation instead of enjoying what years I have left. I suffer from neuropathy, osteoarthritis, spinal stenosis, 3 herniated dics, raynauds, multiple bone spurs. At my rate about 10 years to wheelchsir life according to my doctor. I want to get out and enjoy what I still can.

Birth is Suffering, Ageing is Suffering, Sickness is Suffering, Death is Suffering, Separation from beloved ones is Suffering, Cohabitation with haters is Suffering, Not fulfilling the basic needs is Suffering. Buddha was right. We can't eradicate natural sufferings but we could be free from man made sufferings if our ignorance and abysmal greed are limited.
Your neighbors can cure your loneliness if only you start conversation and cup of tea knock on the door ask for sugar then next day ask for tea bags then they will start to talk to you only neighbor is the closest to you.

Lonely? Find MCGI. To all who are lonely, find a MCGI (Members Church of God International) community in your country or area - - Google it. No money involved; just be there. You will no longer be lonely, nor find yourself alone. These are very, very, caring people who constantly tries to reach out to anybody. Anybody who is breathing. Just go there, and you'll find yourself ALIVE...again.

I am here in Ghana WAfrica where most families look out for the elderly or old members of the family. There are no old folks homes and the old are revered and respected
No, it is also in the East. There are old age homes, as well as elderly parents living alone as their children find work or settle down in other countries. There are also cases of children who abandon their parents for some reason or another.

In some countries they combine elderly houses and nurseries, that would be great if they did it here too.. they are such lovely people, I'd really wish to be their friend, I don't see this sincerity among my age people.. these ladies look so cute, decent, their language is nectar to my ears )))👍👍
My grandfather was born in 1945 and I'm very interested in talking to him about his childhood
+AnnoyingAsshole ...good. My son used to talk to his Great Uncle who died at 96. He was my sons
best friend in the world (apart from his pet).
You are a Wonderful GrandChild! Bless You! ❤️
AnnoyingAsshole : (I Don't Like Your Name!) BUT: Your GrandFather has a Very Kind GrandSon. Bless You!
Hello
There are rare documentaries about loneliness in general made in America. It shows what a low priority it is here. Depression gets more and more common. Depression stemming from loneliness would be alleviated by simply keeping someone company, but the pharmaceutical companies want to keep selling their pills.
Adakan syukur..atas penyetaan Allah sejauh ini..puji Tuhan..anak anak spt yh dirancaddngkan..terimakadih Tuhan
I love you. Sorry am so far away from your home. I live in the Trinidad West Indies. I know how you are feeling now. England have change for the worst.
Hello how are you doing beautiful
Does anyone know if any of these old people are still with us I love the First Lady and the old guy who lives in the cottage ❤️
The Lord God hears your cries grandma. Pray to him to lead, guide and direct you. He knows and understands what you are going through.
I met a man and am now married but I still don’t have anyone else …
I recall being a student and living alone and had I died in my flat no one would know for months.
There are careers and I think they can help you out
to clubs.
Everyone aren't capable! Of what you are capable of...where are you from?
My grandmother raised eight children. When it came time for those eight kids to take care of my grandmother they could not do it.
In my country there's a saying...
A mother can take care of ten children but those very children won't be able to to take care of mom when she's old.
Sigh...its true.
I would love to spend time with these folk...
Where are you from
Hello how are you doing beautiful
London
It is sad that the elderly suffer so much in Western cultures - they get forgotten and cast aside. The younger ppl are not interested in them, don’t have patience or empathy for them. The fellow elderlies, are not interested in learning about you. It is important to have a close relationship with God because an elderly must not and cannot rely on anybody but one’s self and God. In some ways, having dementia might not be such a bad thing.
I feel so sorry for these poor innocent people when, god forbid, one of my two grandparents left die I’m gonna move in with them
I have a shopping addiction due to loneliness
Hello
The elderly must have some contact each day or two days not only for themselves but if they have a pet
and no one discovers their body for ages, the animals would be in deep distress. They must make provision
for their pets if the unthinkable should happen.
Put out three or four big bowls of water for your pet.
Nobody should be lonely. Period.
How are you? What is your situation? Are you livin alone?
Kaite San Hi, Katie. How are you these days? Couple of months ago I had emergency surgery for a hernia and blocked bowel. Barely survived it, okay now. My 13 yr old dog Lucy was in such a bad shape we had to have her put to sleep. I miss her so much! I've been embroideryin a lot. Do you have hobbies?

Hello how are you doing beautiful
I'm 76 and my, so called, best friend of 12 years has recently ghosted me in favour of her neighbour! I even bought her a car that cost me £8,000! I've been a loyal and generous friend to her but now feel so used and lonely. At least I have my two dogs! 👍🇬🇧

When I was a little girl in the Caribbean, all the neighborhood kids woould gather outside my house to play. I don't see that here in the US. So sad.😥
AGE UK IS NOT WHAT YOU MIGHT THINK. THEY ABANDONED ME DUE TO THE FACT MY PHONE COULD RECORD THEM. BUT THEY SAY NOTHING ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT OR COMPANIES THAT DO THE SAME AND MORE. SHAME ON THE AGE UK. FOR NOT CARING. I HAVE JUST TURNED 77 LIVE ON MY OWN.
Soooo sad, many elderly die alone
Hello
Pets really help elderly( wise)
I deeply understand you and wish you the best. Look after your health. Music in any form's a great savior.
Really a true expression. My wife did on my behalf for my parents. Non of my other siblings were there for decades.
Best make plans for your olx age since it is such a problem everywhere. It will happen to all one day.
If you are filthy rich, you won't be alone - garanteed

Hello,how are you doing
age certainly don't come alone, i know
Birth is Suffering, Ageing is Suffering, Sickness is Suffering, Death is Suffering, Separation from beloved ones is Suffering, Cohabitation with haters is Suffering, Not fulfilling the basic needs is Suffering.

Hello
Lonely?
Allah forbids Muslims to say even any words demonstrating displeasure when their parents are very old and have to live with them.

Hello Julie👋
Ahhh poor babies. Not like they didn’t have an entire life of youth to do that. 🤦♂️
😞
Is loneliness only in the west 😂😂😂 ...most videos popping are from the West you mean life out there nobody cares about anyone 🤔
O you sweetheart I'd come over I love older people how cute are they
for a little while then...
Yeah they’re really cute when they beat you, spit at you, insult you, trust me when I say not all old people are sweet.
Old age is a curse. I don’t plan to get old. I think you can pay for your death in some countries. I plan to go when I’m 39.
When i see old peoc
Didn't really think that much My brain is little don't judge me please!!!!
