To be honest you don't have to be Old to be lonely. I know many many young lonely people. Been single living alone can be lonely young or old. So I understand how old people are it can be a lonely planet 🌍.
I love to be in older people's company. They are wise, patient and resilient. You can learn so much from them. My best 10 years were working with them. They taught me about history, patience etc. I have applied to befriending in ageuk. If accepted, I will encourage my daughter to join. She is very respectful and helpful and it would be a symbiotic friendship as she can learn a lot from these wise people
yes being old ,but reasonably fit, is painful. Recently a widower . only me and the dog now. I see these adds for befriending services often but the only thing they do not tell you is how to ask

Hello from NZ, I am trying to find 2 x volunteers from Medway Rodney and Jane Watts. They sent me a card for Xmas 2020 but no address or email has been lost. I did find them on a coffee site volunteering, but unforntately I have lost that site as well. I am wondering is there a site I can go too or if you can help me. Kind regards Bernadette McArthur NZ
I wonder if a pet such as a well trained bird, parrot ? that has been with humans from hatching or maybe a cat could give some companionship to older seniors to stave off lonliness?? What meals do they eat?? Home cooked slap up something with little if any goodness ?? Or, do they have meals delivered ?? What about snacks ?? Biscuits ?? Cake ?? Fillings for a small sandwich ?? Who keeps the fridge clean ?? Wash the shelves and return the food back to their original place ?? Who vacuum and general cleaning of their flat ??
I greatly miss my father. He would have been 70 next year. I am signing upto Age UK to be paired with someone. Great video x
