My left ear enjoyed this
lol
i just tried to repair my headphones
Yaa
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol I thought my headphones were shot
I've been meditating for almost 5 years, and I don't know why I never thought about looking up the perfect position for the least amount of strain... I always have to move and shift halfway through my session because my body starts aching. Thank you so much for this!!
Glad to know this video helped you! Anything else you're working on?
Did this video help you ? I mean do you feel better and more concentrate when you use the posture in this video?
I just realized how inflexible I am
We do have to start somewhere. What made you say so?
Do stretches before meditation to increase your flexibility and you can set in lotus position for longer
I was trying to meditate for a year
But i haven't found any perfect posture for me
But now i have played your video.
Dude it's perfect.....
Great to know! How long have you been practicing?
@@GotROM from jan of 2019
Beautiful! Keep it up! I highly recommend taking a 10-day retreat from Vipassana.org (it's free / donation based)
The cue about the knees being lower than the hip was pure gold! It immediately transformed my sitting experience even if I had to stack quite a few cushions to achieve it :) Thanks!
Yes! It's the key!
Absolutely, I've been meditating on and off. This is the first time I've made sure my knees are below the hips, my god I feel the stability already.
Now THIS is SO comfortable, wow. Thank you so much, very helpful. Finally I can meditate well.
Sure! What are you working on aside from meditation?
@@GotROM It's great that you're trying to answer everybody but also I feel kinda sad that few answer back...
@@koen9940 It's fine. As long as everyone gets the help they need
The best meditation posture video I’ve ever seen. My knees are weak and my hips are tight this helped a lot !!!
Great! Anything else you're working on right now?
Thanks a lot for this!! I just transitioned to meditating for an hour instead of 20 minutes and needed a more sustainable position, and this works perfect.
What a game changer! I had no idea my legs could bend like that and it's so comfortable!!! Thank you so much!
Of course! Is there anything else I can help you with?
@@GotROMI came back to refresh/watch again & found this kind reply. I'm very new at this and my journey has been fruitful. You explained everything so well, I have no questions. I'm blown away by how much more comfortable I am! With gratitude, I'll share this video whenever I can.
@@MrWyvyrn Thank you! Don't hesitate to reach out and write to us at Support@gotrom.com if you need anything else!
I had to log in just to thank you. I've been meditating for years and always thought keeping my back straight took so much effort that I always used some sort of back support. This is so comfortable. Thank you!
You're welcome! :-)
I’m glad I slogged through the left ear favouritism this was pure gold. 2 and a half years of meditating and I just unlocked a new level of sitting, and I never even realised I wasn’t even comfortable before.
Thank you so much dude!! I was always struggling with finding the right position to meditate, because I often got back or leg ache. Now I can sit in a relaxed position!🙏
Yay! Keep practicing!
My god, point 2 (knees below hips) changed my meditation session radically, I can now be relaxed and rest.. thank you so much, that was exactly what I was doing wrong. Thank you
Great to know it helped you! Anything else I can help you with?

Yes, I want to ask you something else if you would want to answer:
If we have to let things go and don’t judge things, if we have to let go of the concept of good or bad, better or worst, if we have to stop this separation of mind, how can we know how to choose and act in this existence, how can we know how to live, what should guide us through life?
Ty
@@CapitanTavish Interesting question. Hmmm... intuition. ;-)
Got ROM
Intuition is simply the unconscious judgment of the mind, it is more true than thinking yes, but still based on separation of good/bad, right or wrong
@@CapitanTavish I think we can let go of the concept of good or bad, and still live a purposeful life. The key is in the word "purposeful". Yes, you have to know your purpose. Robert Greene called this as "Life's Task" in his book Mastery, it's something that you strive to do in life, the skill(s) that you want and will hone to the level of mastery.
Firstly, all of us should know what our Life's Task is. To know this, honest self-examination is necessary. We could revisit our childhood, and remember what things excited us the most, what filled us with wonder, curiosity, and energy? What seemed so magical to us that it took our attention, hypnotized us, that hours could passed by without us noticing? Another thing that we can do is to ask this question: If I don't have to work for another day in my life, what would I do?
We should do things that will help us achieve our Life's Task. For example, if someone's Life's Task is to compose musical masterpieces, they will take appropriate steps that lead them closer to their goal. Their actions, attention, time, and energy will be dominated more by the things that they need to do to get closer to their ultimate goal. We would surround ourselves with similar minded people.
There is more to be said about morality, but this is enough for now.
Thank you for this!! The first position guidance that made everything feel so natural
Great! What else are you working on?
I am in high school .. this way of finding a better posture for myself was never told . Really helpful 🤗
Thank you! Do you practice often?
I was looking for something like this, thank you!
Welcome!
The tip of turning our soul upwards is a very good one. I had been doing burmese position for 2 months now but never catched this small tip myself, thank you for showing me this.
You're welcome Rajan! Glad to know that this resonated with you.
People are seen meditating with fancy postures which mostly are not possible in reality for longer, or even meditating for 10 minutes with those postures will be impossible. You have explained and demonstrated very well and I hope this meditation posture will help me to sit longer comfortably. Thank you.
Swadesh Datta, 🙏. Glad it helped!
This is great!
Thank you so much, and stay blessed!🙌🏻
You're welcome Gamini! What else are you working on?
This is the video that I have been looking for.Thank you very much!!
Yay! Are you practicing meditation?
Dear Mr Ching thanks a ton for putting together this video, it is so simply and beautifully explains something one has been struggling with for a while now. Cheers.
Of course! Is there anything else you want to see from my videos?
Great video. Concise, logical and useful! Blessed!
Thanks Christopher!
Thank you so much for sharing this.... So helpful
Very welcome!
Grest video as always man!! I also ended up with the burmese position, on a bolster. It's the most sustainable asset, expecially if you go to a vipassana retreat...Anyway, thanks for your videos. They are always a source of inspiration for me.
Thanks, man. :-) Bolster is good stuff. You may notice a subtle difference with the cushion in this video due to the shape. You can get your feet a little more underneath yourself vs. a bolster.
Thank you! I can finally sit in my morning meditation without being in constant pain (twas' very distracting)! :)
Definitely! Great to know that this helped you. Anything else you're working on?

Thanks mate. I saw about 4 other videos that explained the Burmese very poorly, your video should be going to the top
Glad it helped! Thank you for the kind feedback.
Excellent!!!
Finally, I could find why Burmese posture is better than Sukhasana posture for meditation.

Indeed! Good to know. What else are you working on?
Be glad you got going as soon as you heard about it. Your doing great by virtue of that. I ultimately procrastinated it for a decade, b/c I do have tight hips, and thought any cross-leggedness wouldn't work.vand chairs just aren't working for me with neutral spine. Just had some poor attempts at starting here and there. Never really knew about this one, which I kind of discovered after some trial and error this year.
Thank you! This is a game changer.

You look very natural with this and explain it very well, unfortunately it’s not working for me. The foreword part of the ankle of the inner leg drives into the floor with a great deal of force, and it’s super painful. My knees are lower than my hips, but with difficulty. I’ll keep working at it as it makes sense, but boy it’s tough! Cheers and thanks, jz

I'm always interested to hear where individuals are putting their focus during meditation- whether it be on their breathing, body sensation, point of vision, a koan, or nothing at all.
I typically start a meditation session with focus completely on the ambient sound around me. It's the quickest way I've found to halt the internal dialogue or daydreaming we're so fond of. This eventually flows into that beautiful sense of calm and presence, but not always! Haha, anyway thanks for replying and I hope you enjoy your day!
