- People born into a Muslim family are not required to stay Muslim their entire life. For some people, the religion just doesn't make sense so they stop believing in it and don't practice it.
These former Muslims sometimes refer to themselves as "ex-Muslims". Some people born to Muslims parents never did believe in Islam.
The Harari people are one of over 90 different ethnic groups native to Ethiopia. The people are traditionally believed to be 100% Sunni Muslims. However, this is not true.
In this video, a Harari Sheikh living in a Western country talks about a young Muslim man who memorized the Quran, went to University, and then left Islam. The young man's journey is not unique. In a 2017 study by the Pew Research Center, 24% of American Muslims had left Islam.

Aside of organised religion including Christianity I just wish men (assuming the main audience in question) could reason or have wise and worldly elders be they Muslim or not they can guide and mentor these men. Whatever age the African culture before Islam and Christianity had a mentor and counselling scheme that worked and helped men instead of forcing so called morals they would grow up and know how to be. Islam greatest calling is spirituality (not so much dogma or Asian and Arab ideologies). African soul is spirituality long before organised religion.

Thanks for your feedback. Correct, there are people who leave every religion. Within the Harari community, there is virtually no acknowledgement of the non-religious minority. This leaves these individuals to feel alone, unseen and out of place. Yes, comparatively, the Harari people are a small population. However, that does not mean the only issues the people should think about is how to increase the population and preservation of language. It's never the wrong time to talk about an issue, even if others may have a difference of opinion.
