- Mecca is absolutely important to Islam. This is the place where Adam, Eve, and Abraham were to have lived. It is supposed to be the oldest city in the world famed for its culture, trade, and the birthplace of Muhammad, yet there is absolutely no historical evidence of this. No historians mention Mecca - ever - not until the 7th century which is much too late for the wild claims of Islam. Plenty of other towns are documented, but not Mecca. The Standard Islamic Narrative has nothing to stand on.

Gentlemen, you have to again refer to the absence of anything in the archaeological record pertaining to any habitation prior to the 7th Century. Surely, the "City of Adam" would have extensive evidence in the ground. But there is no "tell"; there are no ruins; there are not even any coins earlier than the 7th Century. The absence of any pre-Islamic evidence at Mecca must shout more loudly than the voices of Islamic apologists.

Mu'awiyah I (reign 661-680 AD) was the first caliph to have coins minted with his image - with a CROSS in his hands and above his head! He was a Christian before the disagreements about the unity or trinity of God at the turn of the 8th century. Abd al-Malik and his governor Al Hajjaj ibn Yusuf were the actual founders of Islam, the pagan cult that only began after the middle of the 8th century with the Quran and Hadith. For this purpose, a "Prophet Muhammad" was invented, to whom Abd al-Malik gave the name - derived from the term "MHMD" (Mah'mad - Muhammad), which was around 2000 years older and was a term reserved solely for God himself.
It was only under the Abbasids that Islam was finally established after the middle of the 8th century.

Mark gives different label, Matthew, different, Luke, different, and John, different. Was there really a cross? Why of the 3 persons to be hanged, only Prophet jESUs pbuh was made to bear the cross when they have the same degree of the crimes committed that meted them the capital punishment of death? I think Jay meant to say 700s, the first written reference to Mecca was 740.

Quran mentions Mecca only ones in the context that they won one of the battles there. The holy city from quran is named Bakkah, which is known today as Petra. That is where Kaaba was originally located.

Indian Sikhs GURU GURU NANAK DEV JI also went to Mecca to see. While he was camping out of its jurisdictions in a far off village, he was told by few Muslim Clerics that Guru Nanak should change direction of his feet as he was in direction of Mecca. Guru Nanak responded that change my feet in direction of where no Mcca is. They tried Guru Nanak feet and to change in direction of where Mecca was no there. But history of Sikhs tells that Mecca moved with feet of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and all touched his feet telling he is a great Faquir and Pegamber and left him with his followers.
That not true, GURU Nanak was learning about Islam, he mixed all religion and created one that he likes.

1. Adam and Eve being sent to Mecca doesn't mean that a city has to be founded there. A group of humans can live for years at a distant place without founding a "city" There.

In the Most ignored aspect is the etymological Origin of Mecca or Makkah. The Most Like meaning is Just "City" or "Place".
So when the Quran Talks in Al Fath about "Makkah" it might Not be the Name of a Town but Fall it A TOWN. That is why you can find an ancient "Makkah" - If you Google "Town" you don't find a specific Town, No you got told what a Town is.
