That oil will eat through rubber bands and eventually pop them they won't last long oil on the rubber bands
I've never seen any of her clients say in the comments this has occurred when she's done their hair. Maybe her technique/oil doesn't cause that.
I like the hair style. I'm not in favour with using rubber bands. Rubber bands can cause breakage and slipt ends. I'm talking from experience.
