Great guide and video. I always find your insight super helpful both here and in the 20Lore discord. Thanks! I voted for you for the NA-EU online tournament.
Hi Ed. I’m very grateful full the quality of work you put into these presentations. I think there should be a lot more of this level of content out there and available. Question for you. What deck would you like to see a similar presentation on? What deck do you want insight on that is outside of your current focus? Thanks!
Thanks for the support! Personally, I like to make content that I would consume. I would love to see this kind of analysis on all the meta decks since I’m not able to test all of them myself. Since the most popular deck is RS, I think that would be a good place to start.
@@EdLorcana I think s4iler has a guide on RS. That said, I would love seeing players do a peer review process on guides like this. Confirm what they believe is right, see if there’s things that were missed, and more importantly, disagree if they feel they got something wrong. All from the spirit or broadening our understanding about the core philosophies and principals of the game. I believe there is still so much open water and discovery to be had in Lorcana regarding what’s “good”
While I like this matchup guide, I don’t think calling Green Purple Aggro is correct at the moment. It’s a midrange deck and is being played that way at the moment. Definitely need to approach that matchup differently, it’s not just a “play tinker bell” matchup
@@sultanofswing9838 there is a wide range with some being maleficent/cursed merfolk/banzai style where you go aggro like in top 16 Zan vs Dennis and then there is the Clarabelle Merlin style where you try to draw cards. The Tinkerbell angle is very strong versus the former but weaker vs the latter.
@@EdLorcana yeah I agree with the Aggro builds you want tinker bell, but the vast majority of successful green purple lists have been the midrange versions. Leaving a morph out can cause tempo issues if you try and force a tinker bell, cause kit Cloudkicker is a factor
@@brianwong6845 Tinks are mostly to beat up on aggro and Cindy is for beating up midrange steel. If you do make the swap, you will be weaker against aggro but stronger against midrange steel. If you expect the meta game to have more midrange steel and less aggro, this would be a good swap.
Can’t win a single game against Ruby Saph. Even if they are in top deck mode eventually they find one of the board wipes. Visions of the Future also ensures they will always see the card they need during the match. I’m stumped about what to do.
The absolute best thing you can do is shift Diablo, Ursula 3, Prince John and sing Sudden Chill, Anna as your opener then you try to stick more Diablos/Beasts on the board and quest out. The games where you lose are the ones where they deal with your Diablo/Beast and draw bunch of cards through Hiram. I would say now that people have adapted, it is very hard for Emerald Steel to win and I'm having a similar experience as you are.
@@EdLorcana I thought I was going crazy and it was just me sucking. I'm not "glad" I'm not the only one, but you know what I mean. Around here they tech'd more Brawl, they're running Ice Blocks + Human Sisu, they started adding Scar or more Scars (replacing Maui), not even those turns where you quest as they have no board are safe, because if they top deck a Scar there goes 3 of your characters that you just quested with (namely, any combination of Ursulas, Muses, or Prince Johns).
@@EdLorcana Following on that I've been looking at 5-cost Megara and 5-cost Pete. Both have Ward, are outside of Sisu range, and specially Pete has the potential to quest for 4 Lore. The real issues are: 1) does it make enough of a difference, none of them shift, and 2) will that make other matchups difficult, as I don't have the people to do mass testing / reps with.
@@lorcanaPT I wouldn’t focus on “win conditions” like cards that’s only purpose is to accelerate lore gain. The way that you want to win is that you are so far ahead in card advantage that it doesn’t even matter if your opponent top decks a Scar/Be Prep/Sisu. For example, if you have a Diablo or Beast that has been around for 3-4 turns unanswered, you would have accumulated an extra 6-8 cards. Even if your opponent top decks Sisu, you can use a We don’t talk about Bruno to kill the Sisu then replay new copies of Diablo and Beast and put your opponent in the same spot.
@@EdLorcana My thought was more about insulating the characters from their other removal types except Be Prep by having Ward and more than 2 strength. I see what you mean, however. So you wouldn't adapt / tweak the deck in any way right now?
Hi Ed. It's curious that you said the Ruby Amethyst gameplan is similar to Ruby Sapphire. I find it much easier to handle Ruby Sapphire. I tested with a friend last night and I lost every game with Emerald Steel against his Ruby Amethyst, so it is possible I am thinking about the matchup wrong. It just seems like he develops threats and draws cards more efficiently than I discard his hand. Eventually, I'm stuck with a bunch of 1-strength characters and he has multiple locations on board that I can't deal with. I've heard mixed stories from people, some say Emerald Steel wrecks them as Ruby Amethyst, but there is currently no world in which I can imagine that happening. The story is usually just develop either Ursula or Diablo, opponent has the Brawl, game over. I am unsure what I am doing wrong. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! 😀
@@benlarkin857 It comes down to if your opponent is able to deal with your Diablo/Beast. If you can also do the turn 3 Ursula 3 turn 4 Prince John sing sudden chill turn 5 Anna, it will also help. In the scenarios you describe that he kills all your engines, you will definitely lose. Hidden Cove helps a lot to protect your early Diablos.
This is great, please keep making more content:) love learning from the master
I like that this matchup guide shows the perspectives from both sides
This guide is excellent for both E/S players and their opponents, cheers great video
The fact that you specifically said "Grab your Sword" at the beginning was enough to make me sub, great video.
Thanks for this break down! I like the turn by turn strategy for each meta deck

I am new to Lorcana and this video was very helpful! Thank you Ed
Subscribed! Hope to see more videos for other decks like this

Amazingly useful video, thanks!!
I don't play Blue red, but who the hell would rather empty their hand for ink than to fuel their hand with cards?

Thoughts on replacing 2 tinks with 2 big Cindy for steel emerald deck
