She was a great lady who saw a lot of life and was a terrific role model for women as well as men. 🌹 ❤️
I don't believe she was that old when she did this interview, I met her at around that time and she looked quite frail. I think her memory is already going here, sadly. She was as sharp as a tack in her prime, but when she tells her well-worn anecdotes, she seems to lose the thread at times. She can't remember the word 'proposal' when she talks of how many men asked her to marry them! Bless her, she was a force of nature though. Hilarious that she admonishes married women for having a career. when she worked all her life! And I'm not sure how 'romantic' a second honeymoon would be in a TENT, lol! I'm damn sure she would never have done it!
Step-grandmother. Does anyone know of an album made by Barbara Cartland singing old war-time songs, etc.? I swear I remember an interview that showed her singing in the 80's... maybe just a dream?
A shame the TV programme makers spelled her name incorrectly - It's Barbara Cartland with a 'C' not a 'K'. She is adorable, and so is her little dog!

It's not misspelled, it is Serbian broadcaster and spelling is in accordance with Serbian grammer.

They only spelled her name with a "K" in the other language (Serbo-Croatian?); with the "C" it would be mispronounced, maybe like "Sartland" or "CHartland"... not sure, being a monoglottal American...

No - her daughter Raine married Diana's father and became Diana's stepmother, so that made Dame Barbara Cartland Diana's step grandmother (if there is such a thing!)
