This, ladies & gentlemen, is how you do a video review on a tent. Very well put together and showed every bit of the tent. I felt like I was viewing the tent in person. Great job sir! Really appreciate it!
@Zayda Perez - Wow Zayda, thank you very much for such a wonderful compliment! It always makes my day to hear one of my videos has been helpful to someone. I really appreciate you stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - thank you! Keep an eye out in the near future, I picked up the 6 person tent for my oldest son and we'll be doing a review on that one shortly too.
Great review sir! I’ve been contemplating on getting this tent at my Costco. You sir have me the confidence to invest. Absolutely a fantastic job. A disassembly video would be great also.
We also love our Core 10 dark tent!!! I'm a mom who takes my son camping alone as my husband works weekends and I'm able to put up and take down this tent all by myself!
We JUST bought this tent in preparation for camping with our 1 year old twins this summer and I’m so glad I found your video!! Gave me peace of mind about our purchase!! I love instant tents and was worried about straying away from my ozark trail favorite but this will likely be my new fav!! Thank you!!
Just got done camping with this tent and I must say I am highly impressed with how big it was, and how easy it was to setup and take-down! The only thing that takes some time when setting it up the first time is taking off the cardboard inserts on each joint, after that they just pop out then you just extend the legs! To take it down just press the red buttons on each pole of the legs to make them shorter then fold each pole inwards toward the center then just try to release some air then you're done!
Thank you, very well review. I bought this tent months ago and I haven’t had the time set it up. Now I’m ready to go camping any day is amazing!!! Great job Sir 😃
I have a smaller instant up tent but wanted a bigger one to fit the family. I got tired of trying to fit poles into each other not to mention losing one on my older large tent. I just purchased this tent based on reviews on line. I'm glad I saw your video it confirmed what I read. I'll be using it it a couple of weeks. Great information.
We've just bought one from Costco in the UK having it delivered tomorrow and trying it put by having a garden bbq with it set up to eat under cover. Thanks for a great video
I saw this review months ago and have tried and tried to buy one (sometimes stopping by everyday) and they stopped carrying it.. till I stopped in Saturday and they just happened to have 5 sitting on a shelf. Bought it and can’t wait to use it.
Thank you for this info. We need to replace our tent and this looks great. My husband appreciates being able to set something up quickly and most of the time, he puts it up by himself.
Hello Miller Family! Your husband should like this tent, it's SUPER easy to put up and take down. I also liked that it was easy to get back into the storage bag. How many times do you get something like this and then it's "good luck trying to fit it back in there" and you struggle with it. This one was was easy for us. We've used our quite a bit and it's still doing great btw. Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment.
Thank you so much for doing this review for this tent, its very well done. I also couldnt find any other info on this tent online so Im glad found your video.
@hermanivan1987 - You're very welcome and thank you for the compliment! Super glad to hear you found my video to be helpful to you. I appreciate you stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - thank you.
Great video thanks so much for a great review. I was about to order the 9 person version with no lights from Amazon for $250 but after seeing your video, I immediately ordered this larger more feature rich model from Costco for $20 less.
Thank you SO much for actually installing the divider wall! It was my only problem area.I definitely think I am missing a couple of loops based on what you did but will have another look, they might be hiding.
Love this tent. Everyone loves our huge tent that my son sleeps in because we can use his lift to get him from wheelchair to his bed. I am looking for ways to adapt my tent to have the lights somehow lol I was tempted to put those garden solar lights on top of the tent. If anyone has any ideas please comment
@Life With Duchenne - So far it's been a GREAT tent for us. There is so much more room than our old one! I wish I could help you more on the lighting for you tent. About all I could add would be we do have another light similar to this one we really like and we can also use it charge our phone if needed. amzn.to/3eoJHHk The solar light may be a good option. I'm just not sure how you would hang or mount them in your tent though. Thanks for stopping by! BTW, just so I don't get in trouble - I am an Amazon Associate and that is an affiliate link.
You're very welcome Tina! I'm super glad to hear you enjoyed the video. Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - much appreciated!
Thank you for this review. I saw this tent at Costco yesterday and took pics to share with the wife. Our last tent spent many a camping trip with us over the past 10 years.......that is a long time in tent years. I am off to Costco! (Don't worry about that microphone, still sounded pretty good. Nice edit, BTW.)
@Chupacabra - You're very welcome for the video! I think our previous tent was about the same age so it was overdue for replacement as well. There sure was a big difference between the two! Ours has done really well for our family and I hope yours does as well. Thank you about the microphone, I'm a bit type A so it was driving me crazy when I started to edit the video. Other than totally redo everything all you can do is edit your best and live with it I guess, LOL. I really appreciate you stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - thank you!
Great review! I’ve been looking at this tent for a few days now, and this was the best review I’ve seen of it. It also left me curious about using a rechargeable battery pack to power the lights since it uses a USB connection. That would be a lot better than depending on D cells, and you could pack a couple of them for extended camping trips. The power cord port will also help with the setup I’m looking at. I plan on getting a portable power station that recharges using solar panels. With that port I’ll be able to run the cable from the panels outside to the power station inside.
I picked one of these tents up a couple weeks ago to start the season. Thanks for doing a “rain test” too! That’s one of the things I was curious about.
Hi Devin, it couldn't have done any better with the rain test there in the yard and it has survived a few out in the "wild" as well. Glad to hear you enjoyed the video. I just picked up the newest version of this tent and hope to have another video out soon so keep an eye out for it. That video should cover the one you just bought. Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment!
Thank you I was not sure how to set up and have this tent . I was trying to take my girls camping . Now I feel more confident. I was hoping you would show the take down to . But still so helpful
@Sage Neldner - Your wish (or "hope") is granted! :) It just so happens the boys did another camp out here in the backyard and the tent needed to come down today so I did a video of the process just for you! I hope it helps. Thanks for stopping by and giving me the video idea - much appreciated! Here's a link to the video, it should be available shortly: ua-cam.com/video/Crw4ZJVqkoA/v-deo.html
Very excellent review. I like your assessment (in the comments) that the 12 man tent has a better side door location. Regardless, this is a very fine tent and once again, a very well done review...I tip my hat.
@Michael Pettit - Hey Michael, thank you very much for such a great compliment! We love our tent and it has held up great to kids and dogs running in and out of it. I just wish the "front" door would open up more so it was easier getting in and out. A hat tip back at ya though! Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me some feedback - much appreciated!
@AMY OLSEN-SCHOO - Glad to hear that Amy. I hope your tent does as well for you as ours has for us. Enjoy and have fun with it! I appreciate you stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - thank you.

You did a great job! One of the best instructional videos I've seen. Thank you as we are going to test this tent out next week in Alabama Hills in Mohave next week!
@James Coble - Well thank you very much for the compliment James! This tent has worked out great for us and I hope yours will too. Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - much appreciated!

@Jon L. - You're very welcome Jon and thank you for the compliment! It's always nice to hear one of my videos has been able to help someone. I appreciate you stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - thank you.
@SlimNubster - Thank you for the compliment! We used ours quite frequently last summer with our boys and two dogs and it held up great with no problems whatsoever. Outside of our "rain test" in the video we only had one night with wind and rain that I recall and we had no leaks. So far we couldn't be happier with our purchase. I appreciate you stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - thank you!
I bet you'll like it, we've sure enjoyed ours and it's done great. My youngest uses it the most having his friends come over and they all hang out in the back yard so it has see quite a bit of "rough" use and is holding up well. At least with CostCo you can easily return it if it doesn't live up to your expectations. Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment!
@Phillip Justice - That's great to hear Phillip. It always makes my day to find out one of my videos has been able to help someone. It makes it all worthwhile. I really appreciate you stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - thank you.
I have a Ozark instant tent with lights and you can power them three ways . With batteries ,a power bank , and I used my cell phone adapter to plug in my power strip .
I can't seem to find any info on this tent so I'll try asking here. How long do the batteries last? I get they are led lights but I'm curious as to how often they might need to be replaced. Update. Current using the same d batteries from when I bought it. Been camping roughly 15 nights. Batteries holding strong
@Renee Jenks - You're very welcome Renee. I hope your new tent works as well for you as ours has for us. Enjoy and have fun! Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - much appreciated!
@Anita Lima - Hello Anita. I was just at a CostCo here in Colorado last weekend and they had these tents back in stock as well. Naturally I didn't open the box to verify but it looked identical to the one in this video. The packaging and pictures were exactly the same as this one. Interesting, I just went to their site to see if I could get you a link but they aren't listing it there so it's possible there are only select stores that are selling them now but I would expect more stores would begin to sell as spring approaches. If it helps, I saw them at this store - www.costco.com/warehouse-locations/sw-denver-littleton-co-443.html Good luck on your search. Please let me know if you need anything else.
1 flaw, the tent have 2 doors but they're all located on one end of the tent. If you put up the room divider, the occupants on one side cannot get out of the tent without going through the divider itself. There is an ozark trail tent that is the same as this tent but the doors are made correctly so that if you have the dividers up, the occupants can get out from their own room.
It's a Coleman design. The Ozark trail instant cabin version is better. Just seam seal it when you get it. Ours has held up in some heavy downpours. The core version doesn't have an exit on the adjacent tent if you divide it with the wall. There needs to be an exit on two sides for when you divide it and use it as two tents
I've narrowed my tent selection to this and a very similar tent from a different brand. Same price point. I'm leaning more heavily to this Core because of the side door placement. However, I had seen another review on a different Core tent that mentioned that the screens seemed to let in a lot of little bugs (ants, gnats, etc.). Now, they could have gotten in any number of other ways too, but the reviewer felt it was the screen. Do you feel that the screen mesh has larger openings than any other tent screens? Your review has really helped! Thank you!
Hi AllonsY. We haven't had any issues whatsoever with bugs or critters getting into our tent and I have not had someone leave me a comment talking about that as far as I can recall. Ours seals up pretty tight as long as you do it right IMHO. I wish I could provide you more feedback but this has been a non-issue for us. I hope that helps you. Thanks for stopping by!
This review was amazing, but the one question I have is how easy is it to put it away? Set up was a breeze but it looks like it might be annoying to put it away back in the carrying back
@Thatonefoo 1080 - Thank you for the compliment! Actually, taking the tent down and putting it away is pretty simple. I was quite surprised. I did making a video showing that procedure with this tent here: ua-cam.com/video/Crw4ZJVqkoA/v-deo.html Hopefully that will answer your question. Thanks for stopping by!
@Diana Sanchez - Thank you very much for the compliment Diana! I'm always happy to hear one of my videos has been helpful to someone so thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - much appreciated!
Bought this tent to use in the U.K. as needed easy one person set up. It collapsed in wind not exceeding 20mph on a summers day. Be warned this is a fair weather only tent, it can not withstand even a breeze.
I'm sorry you had a problem with your tent. I've never had this type of issue and yours is the first comment of this type I've received so I wonder if there may be defect with your tent. If you purchased it from Costco (or Amazon) you should easily be able to return it for an exchange or refund. I haven't dealt with Core at all but you may contact them as well and see what they have to say.
Very nice video and review of the tent . I'm looking at getting one soon . I had a core 6 person dome tent very nice but it wasn't a easy up tent and the only good head room was in the middle went camping in it many times some heavy rains it held its own very nicely . If you don't mind me asking how much was the tent ? I belong to Costco as well and I will definitely look into getting this tent. Lastly was the tent an in store item or on line I haven't seen tents at my Costco. Thanks again for this great review.
@Craig Lambaria - Bummer Craig! Hopefully they'll get another shipment in for you; it's still early so I bet they will. We stopped by a CostCo in Ft. Collins and they had a whole pallet of them. You could also stop and ask at the customer service counter, they could tell you if any other stores have them or if they are expecting more. Good luck!
i know its 3 yrs later but it would of been kool to test the outside and the inside temp differance. even though there was the lower vents. i "HAVENT" seen ANY videos show this one little test on.
@Craig Lambaria - You know Craig, I bet it's just a matter of perspective, LOL! I just figured the biggest door on the end would be the natural entry point but now that you mention it they did put the light switch on the outside next to that door. Good point! Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - much appreciated!
@Ian S - Well thank you very much for the compliment Ian and you're very welcome for the video. I appreciate you stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - thanks!
@Anastasia Krutikov - You're very welcome Anastasia. I hope it was able to help you in making decision on this tent for you. I really appreciate you stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - thank you!
You know, when we venture out of the back yard I like to put a tarp down just to protect my tent. The tent does have a real nice, sturdy material but I figure why not protect it with a less expensive tarp. Just my opinion though, for what it's worth. Thanks for stopping by!
Everything looked great until i saw the rain fly. Ive used this type on many different tents and if there is any bit of wind, water gets in. Pretty disappointing. So if there's 0% chance of rain, it looks great. But i plan on buying one tent
You could very well be right on that Nate. We honestly, haven't had to deal with any real bad weather with ours so I can't necessarily say how it would perform with high winds and rain. I can say I was totally impressed with how it did when I sprayed it with the hose. The video didn't really provide a true picture but it was a lot of water and yet none got into the tent. Throwing some high wind into the mix could certainly change that though. If you get one I hope it does well for you, ours has been great for us. Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment.
@Billy Phan - I would think we do. I still have the box and I’m sure my wife has the receipt. I’m not where I can look at those at the moment but I’ll see what I can do for you this evening.
@Billy Phan - Hi Billy. So we found the receipt. The item # on our receipt is 1318981. The SKU # on the box is 8-10007-48144-9. Good luck, I hope you find one! Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks for stopping by!
I have the same tent (with the extra mesh patio) but it isn't seam taped. I bought some kiwi waterproof spray but still am a bit worried. I love in Oregon and it loves to rain.
Just curious I purchased this tent from Costco today but it doesn't have the outside light switch and the main door has a different zipper. Also only 1 lower air flow unlike your 2. Any idea why it's so different? Thanks
Hi Anthony. I'm not sure why it's different other than maybe they went with only one switch to reduce the cost. I did pick up the latest tent at Costco this last week and will be doing a full review like this one here shortly. I plan to have a portion of that video be a comparison to previous model (the one in this video) so people will have something to compare it to. Keep an eye out for that, it's coming!

Now only wondering about durability and weatherproof capability.
We just bought this tent, can't wait to camp in it!! 😁😁
Very helpful! We're looking at getting a new tent, saw this at Costco and you just can't beat the price! We'll probably be getting it!
Thanks for doing the review! We were just looking at this tent at Costco
Thank you so much! I was trying to find reviews but couldn’t even find the specific tent.
Great video, thank you for demonstrating this tent.
I can't seem to find any info on this tent so I'll try asking here.
How long do the batteries last? I get they are led lights but I'm curious as to how often they might need to be replaced.
Update. Current using the same d batteries from when I bought it. Been camping roughly 15 nights. Batteries holding strong
Best tent review I've seen. Thanks.👍
Fantastic review. Thank you. Just got this tent from Costco. Looking forward on using it!
Thank you very much! I hope it does great for you.
@@javosgarage it did great last season, went thru a big storm in Wisconsin
This is a great review . I saw this at Costco and came here to research it. It looks awesome
How as much was it at CostCo?
@@dadventure-tales $200 I believe
@@robstoneshoots Thank you sir!
Great review was trying to figure out how many 4D batteries were needed.
We just bought one today at Costco. Thank you
Can you tell me which Costco location you purchased from? And is it the color in this video? Or the yellow one?
If it helps, I saw them at this store - www.costco.com/warehouse-locations/sw-denver-littleton-co-443.html
Good luck on your search. Please let me know if you need anything else.
How does it do in rain and wind
1 flaw, the tent have 2 doors but they're all located on one end of the tent. If you put up the room divider, the occupants on one side cannot get out of the tent without going through the divider itself. There is an ozark trail tent that is the same as this tent but the doors are made correctly so that if you have the dividers up, the occupants can get out from their own room.
Thanks for the review, i ust got this tent and love it
Thanks for putting up this review. Very helpful. What type of camping chairs are those at the end of the video? They look very comfortable.
Excellent review!👍 Great deliverance.
Thank you kindly!
Four D-batteries to USB for the LED lighting! D-batteries are so 1980s. I'd probably try my USB charging (single) battery instead.
Wow, amazing review
@BryTunes - Thank you very much for the compliment! I'm glad you enjoyed my video.
I did making a video showing that procedure with this tent here: ua-cam.com/video/Crw4ZJVqkoA/v-deo.html
Hopefully that will answer your question. Thanks for stopping by!
@@javosgarage wow you really did cover absolutely everything about this tent. Thank you so much!
Very good review! Thanks!!!
Nice work! Buying at Costco today
How will this tent do in 30 degrees
Good job. I just bought this tent.
Great review! Quick question. Does the tent come with the battery pack? Mine didn't come with one.
I went to buy and they were gone yesterday at my Costco!!! Ahhh!!
Good luck!
I had been checking Costco every week for the last month and today I got one, keep trying!
i know its 3 yrs later but it would of been kool to test the outside and the inside temp differance. even though there was the lower vents. i "HAVENT" seen ANY videos show this one little test on.
Still the best tent review by the way
Thank you very much!
Have you tried it while it’s raining or windy if you have how did it do thanks
Thanks for you review!!!
Thanks for the review!
Thanks for this review.
@Charan - You're very welcome Charan, thanks for stopping by!
If the big door your sitting in front of the side door? and the front door the one that swings open
@Craig Lambaria - You know Craig, I bet it's just a matter of perspective, LOL! I just figured the biggest door on the end would be the natural entry point but now that you mention it they did put the light switch on the outside next to that door. Good point! Thanks for stopping by and taking a moment to leave me a comment - much appreciated!
thank you... this was so helpful

Great review. Thank you!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great review
Been debating betwen this , , ozark light tent or dark shade rest easy tent
I just bought it and i love it
Amazing video thank you.

Excellent video.
Thanks for video Brother.
You're very welcome Peter. I'm glad you liked the video.
Does this have a covered area outside of the tent?
Would you recommend a tarp for under this or is the floor made of a strong material? Just bought it from Costco today
You know, when we venture out of the back yard I like to put a tarp down just to protect my tent. The tent does have a real nice, sturdy material but I figure why not protect it with a less expensive tarp. Just my opinion though, for what it's worth. Thanks for stopping by!
Did the battery pack come with the tent or was purchased separately?
Just bought this today, it comes with the battery pack... D Batteries not included
@@JonnyGunz thank you!
@@amynnha you're welcome. 199 at Costco right now
Everything looked great until i saw the rain fly.
Just curious..how does this tent do in the rain?
Good video!
Thanks!
How durable is the bottom? How will it handle In a non grass floor environment?
It’s a good idea to place a tarp under any tent to prolong the life of the floor. The better the tarp the more protection it offers.
How is it waterproof wise?
Do you happen to have Costco item # for this? Want to do a stock check at my local stores
Thanks soooooo much! Now the hunt begins!
Can you show folding it back up?
Yes! I made a separate video that shows it, here's a link:
ua-cam.com/video/Crw4ZJVqkoA/v-deo.html
I have the same tent (with the extra mesh patio) but it isn't seam taped. I bought some kiwi waterproof spray but still am a bit worried. I love in Oregon and it loves to rain.
Have you had a chance to use it in the Oregon rain yet? How didi it do?
thank you :)
@BryTunes - You're very welcome! I hope the video was helpful.
@@javosgarage that would be very helpful thank you 👍
