An EXHAUSTIVE list of things to do before the release of FINAL FANTASY XIV: DAWNTRAIL...

This is my totally casual, non-commital list of things I want to get completed(hopefully) before the Dawntrail expansion comes out...

End Game Content: 2:08-2:39
Chocobo Rank 20: 2:40-2:54
Hunts/Marks: 2:55-3:16
Max Squadrons: 3:17-3:32
Max DoH/DoL: 3:33-4:00
Tomestones/Scrips: 4:01-4:21
Max Retainers: 4:22-4:48
Relic Weapons: 4:49-5:11
Blue Mage list: 5:12-5:30
Faux Leaves/Wondrous Tails: 5:31-5:50
Lvl 90 Roles: 5:51-6:17
Miscellaneous stuff: 6:19-

So this seems more like a personal to do list but i wanted to chime in for some obvious prep items for dawntrail:
-dust off your compass for new aether currents
-stock up on food for xp boosts
-squadron or company manuals for more boosts
-stock up on aethryte tickets
And for those finished with endwalker get your Island Sanctuary maxed out...there will likely be new ranks and feats.

Island Sanctuary won't receive any more updates, instead Cosmic Exploration will become the crafter/gatherer content.

Good list, I would suggest putting the Challenge Log on your list for things to work...if you get a bunch of objectives near completion then by the time dawntrails rolls around, you can complete them making gaining xp much easier...

Good video. some feedback is you want your voice to be a bit higher than the music just for clarity.
good luck on completing your goal just make sure you don't burn out before the next expansion by trying to complete this list.

Hey :) I have a question, so basically I have been wanting to start my journey in FF14, and with the new expansion coming soon, I'm getting stressed about starting. Would now be a good time to start? I want to start from the very beginning and work my way through all the expansions before I jump right into a new expansion that I have no idea what is going on

Hi Quinn! I feel now more than ever is a great place to start. The player base is huge and as far as accessibility, ffxiv makes the game enjoyable for new mmo players, players that enjoy solo content(like myself), and also those that enjoy the social aspect of games(rping, raiding with friends). Ive also had such good interactions with the community- most people were willing to help me and give me advice, as well as welcome me into their team/family which in this gane is known as Free Company.
I say...go for it but my advice is to listen intently to all the tutorials(theres a lot), try not to get too burnt out on the first story arc(its slow at first), and most importantly enjoy at your own pace! I feel there are a lot of ppl trying to play catch up just for the sake of it, but they are missing out...so much fun stuff to do!

ffxiv is here to stay, many are starting new like yourself or have roled a new character/job, so by the time you get to dawntrails, content will still feel fresh like the expansion before it

Also when you first start the game, create a new character, etc - does the game do a good job guiding you through all the lore and content through each expansion?

More or less, youll get more out of the lore by doing msc and dungeons/raids but the world building is surprisingly fleshed out imo

for the Rathalos mount I got a crew of a couple like minded individuals and just unsync'd the duty in the duty finder and went in to it with a squad of lvl 90s. Took a little over a minute for each clear and we all had mounts within an hour or so.
