    You can tell jp isn’t one of these marketing artists who just say whatever they need to say for the company but not truely mean it. Everything he does is genuine and real and if he speaks something positively, most certain he means it. Such a versatile tasteful drummer. He can play jazz, or any music with super dynamics, then the next gig he is filling in for periphery and doing the generation axe tour with rock legends.

    Beautiful playing across the dynamic range of these drums on your part. I am really intrigued by this line - everything you played sounded full and articulate at all dynamic levels.

    You drove me crazy with this. Just bought it and love it. Hardware, heads, sound is all excellent and design is well thought out, I’ve had more expensive kits but this is my favorite. Would like to try out the snare too.

      One Too careful with the word "make"
      Dw may own pdp, they keep their top of the line stuff under the dw name and the more affordable (Dw inspired) stuff under pdp. Quality is different, but there

    Just chiming in here to say I've been very actively deciding on a kit to buy for the past few months - and happy to say this video put me over the edge - and I'm closer than ever to pulling the trigger on a good deal for the Oxblood stain Bop Kit 18, 12, 14 - though that ebony stain is divine! But I'll take what I can get! :)
    I've been wanting to downsize to a bop forever, but was always concerned I wouldn't get enough warmth or depth out of it. I had my heart set on a Yamaha Stage Custom 20, 12, 14 birch setup, and considered options from Tama, Mapex, Gretsch among many others, but the warmth of the maple shells, the wood hoops, the tom mount that allows me to get a bit more above this kit, and the creative bass drum riser and cutout inset really just made these the total package.

      I've played my PDP Classic bop kit for almost 3 years, walnut w/blond hoops. Kinda reminds me of Levon Helm and Nigel Olsenn's kits w/wood hoops. I'll play mine until I drop, can't stay off the toms.

    ABSOLUTELY STOKED - So about 5 years ago the Owner of our Local Mom & Pop Music Store calls me up, "Kevin, Zach Man - You know Saturday (tomorrow) we have this Invitation Only Pre-Opening Hours Sale going on, BUT, I wanted to see if you would like to come in tonight at closing cause I want you to see something." My curiosity is peaked so in I go with my Wife in arm. He takes me to the Drums Section (I am 62 and have been playing since 9, seriously since I was 17). He shows me this Cherry to Black Sparkle Fade Drum Kit, I see the PDP Logo, never heard of them. Then as I am looking closer I see the "Made by DW - Concept Maple Series" logo . Hmmm. The price tag is about $1500.00 (Also comes with a Gibraltar Rack and a few other accessories). I am not really interested in an Entry Level Starter Kit Zach, I say - Oh NO, he says, Dude I want you to take this home, play it for a week then tell me what you think - Okay, but what is this Sale thing you have going on. That's the even better news, he say. I will sell you this Kit IF you decide you like it for $xxx.xx - (Price disclosed in a bit). Really ! I said. Okay Zach - I'll try it out. I get it home, un-box it, set it up, tune it up and attach my Foot Pedal to it, throw on my favorite Zeppelin, Who, RUSH, etc.Drum Practice CD and start giving this thing a work-out - Holy Shit - Right off the bat I love the tone, after about an hour of playing I start looking at the "Build Qualit" which I did to some extent when un-boxing and setting it up. But now Closer as I have just about Immediately decided I am probably going to but the Kit. Very well built and I am sorry but if you call this a "Economy Line" you are fooling yourself. These Kits are Solid, Built like Tanks, and Sound as good, if not better than higher end kits costing 3 times as much or more. A week goes by - I go se Zach, drums still at home - I buy my favorite heads, a few more Rack Clamps for the Gibraltar Rack - All together I spend $1179.00 including tax. Evans Hydraulic Clear Heads, EVANs EMAD Bass Drum Head, Four Clamps, the Rack, and the PDP Maple Series Kit (7 Piece). I now have a White Pearlescent Kit - that makes 2. I love these Kits. My Ludwig Blue Vistalite Octa-plus (8 Piece - Single Bass, I didn't want the extra Bass) that I bought New in 1976 was placed in retirement when I bought the Cherry PDP Kit. Anyway, when I went to the store during their Labor Day Sale this past Fall and saw this White Kit up on the high third shelf, I asked, What is that, it's beautiful ? - then almost immediately saw the PDP Logo right when Zach was telling me it's a new PDP Kit but with Upgraded Shells , OH YEAH, I want it. 7 Piece just as the Cherry, and out the door for $750.00 with my Favorite Heads ? You kidding me ? Hell Yeah. Now, since I bought the Cherry Kit and now, PDP has upgraded to some better quality shells, the one's that came on the Cherry Kit were/are awesome, but yes, this Kit does sound a little warmer. Nice, Very Nice. If you're a Drummer and looking for a Great Gigging Kit, look no further. And NO, I do not work for DW /PDP - I am just a regular Drummer that loves quality - "More Bang for the Buck" so-to-speak - And these Kits Deliver Big Time.

    I was wanting to decide between the Yamaha bop kit and the ddrum bop kit because of price point. Sonor AQ2 was nice but over competitive price point. Glad I went with the pdp bop kit. The maple kit is solid and sound is awesome. I also like the sturdiness of the bass drum lift with the inner-cut rim. I have used the bass drum lifts that tighten on to the rim and the bass drum lift alone was a major selling point along with the maple shells.

    How does this finish differ from the Ebony Stain Lacquer on some of the other PDP CM kits?

    • @dwdrums
      @dwdrums  4 роки тому +2

      Hey there,
      All of our PDP Concept Classic models are satin oil finish. It is not a lacquer finish. Our satin oil has a more of a natural stained wood look to it. Our Lacquer finishes have a shiny gloss look to them. I;m not sure if I answered you question perfectly but I hope that helps.
