Now that Loretta has passed this song takes on even more meaning. Listening to her music now is a haunting experience. Beautiful rendition of this song.
Loretta Lynn mentioned that she wrote this song at the wake after Patsy's funeral. It's one of my favorites. Loretta remained friends with Charlie until he passed a few years ago.

She wrote it on the bottom steps in the basement according to the last owner Steven Burlington. He passed away from cancer in 2021.
Marvelous movie. I applaud the actresses who played the iconic country legend singers.
I played this song when i lost my dad on New Years Eve back in 2022. The grief that Charlie displays is so triggering because the day after I didnt want to get out of bed and i only got up to eat only and back to my room. I knew i woke up to a new year without him. RIP Dad

My wife and I have been by her house n a cold chill hit both of us. We have plans to stay there someday. An angel taken too early.
I play this over and over so I can grieve the loss of my best friend James. I love you James. You left such an empty space here in my soul. And RIP Loretta, a fine lady who lived a thousand lifetimes, and with the truth gained from experience. We both loved LL, so he would be grieving too, I know it. Yes, the movie is good too. Great performances and worthy story to tell of an unusual friendship.

My mom is fan of both them. I play hunted house for my mom bc she pass away September 17, My dad n brother was taking hard like how Charlie is I clean up like Loretta.
