    Hi, good idea but is it resisting the hitting when you are diving or is the paint going away? Thanks

    Dude, I just melt lead directly into an old rectangular fish tin. When cool just rip the tin off, drill a couple of holes and use a short piece of rubber to make a quick release attachment to hold it onto the belt. Takes 20-30 mins.

    You should not do it In a close space, plumb is toxic. If you used a better mold , less work would be needed. Good video anyway

    Hi there, try pushing ,a piece of aluminium about the size of your belt through the middle of your mold,to avoid drilling.Love your vids, keep up the good job!

    I have to sort the kids out with weight this year now that they are both ion open-cell wetsuits & won't be able to get down without a bit of assistance. I reckon I'll give this idea a try as I like the shape of the weights. How much did they weigh, as a matter of interest? You say about a material to withstand the temperature. I made slab-type weights for a weight vest using wooden moulds last summer. I didn't have a small fire on my hands.

      Hello Patrick, exiting news about the kids getting open cell wetsuits. They weighed just over 1kg each roughly. Reference the material withstanding the heat I was talking about the mould. Just ensuring it can withstand the heat of the molten lead

      @@TheOutdoor_Guy Thanks for that. They would be about right for easy adjustment of weight.

    dont do much spraying a m8 lol hang them up to spray them , spray cans are not meant to point down :) i actually need 1 more weight but i could not afford it when i got my belt lol apparently being 19 stone means i float more ..... go figure :-)

      Thank for the tip with the spray cans. You would think it was the other way around. Depending how deep you're going you may not need as much weight as you think.

      @@TheOutdoor_Guy ye with the spray cans they have a straw from the button to the base so you have to use them upright to get the most out of them and if you dont you get air with no paint and splotches , as for the diving i been told i need more weight to0 get down then bigger fins to get back up after my suit compresses at the bottom lol i cant win have to buy more of everything :)

    :p i bought a propper belt and those cheap pockets then i filled them with coins.
    Lead is expensive (here).
    we have 25 cents (php) and 1 dollar is 50php so for 1 dollar i get 200 coins.
    Yours look way more neat tho

    Great video, I’m in need of some weights and have plenty of spare lead. How did you make sure they were the weight you wanted them to be?

    • @yellowsquare5998

      Weighing your spare lead before melting it

    • @TheOutdoor_Guy
      @TheOutdoor_Guy  3 роки тому

      Thank you. The best way is to weigh the lead before melting it but don't forget you are going to drill some out. I had roughly 1.4 kilo of lead before melting and when I finished they sit roughly around the 1kg mark.
