True the guy hasn’t had any chance to develop or take enough snaps. He’s got a cannon arm and is an exceptional athlete. He easily avoids sacks that Dak could not get away from. We’ve seen the top of Dak and QB at 30 and beyond start aging bec this is a young QBs sport. Not an aging QB. Brady was an exception. I would not be surprised Dallas wises up and lets Dak walk and with a 100 million cap in 2025 and not signing him would be even more cap money to rebuild this team with young talent.

When he was traded for it was pretty clear there was going to be competition for QB2 forsure. If he plays very good this preseason and coach sees what he wants then we see about 25. He is still young and has everything needed to be a starting QB. Competition at every position is always a good thing.
I don't think you could make the argument that McCarthy's offense hit after week 6. McCarthy's offense should be under center about 70% of the time. They were doing that before the bye and Dak's numbers were mediocre. They had to jettison the McCarthy offense and go back to the Kellen Moore mishmash because it's all that Prescott can run, after the bye. Which is why they ran shotgun about 70% of the time after week 6. To run a real West Coast offense you need to be under center about 65% of the time if not more. I don't think Prescott can do that.

We used to allow QB's to grow into the position. Now we just throw them into the fire. It's really unusual for Dak to be as good as he was when he took over for Tony Romo. He barely had any time to get adjusted to the NFL and he handled it. Dak has grown every year. I think Tre Lance can grow into a starter in this league if given the chance.
