Okay, now why that Ad Nauseam didn't won instantly the game? Breach, Rograkh, Culling the Weak and Demonic Tutor would give you enough to start a loop
I can't speak for him but I'm guessing he saw Warren Soultrader and Cauldron familiar and got a bit of tunnel vision. I know I've been there after drawing 20 cards.

Are you able to thassa ask for a response then tainted? I thought you have to retain priority because if you ask for responses you are passing your own priority and cant add stuff after going around
Yup! In this scenario you cast Thassa's Oracle, ask for a response, everyone passes priority, so it resolves. Then when Thassa's Oracle enters the battle there is a trigger, which is when you have to respond with Tainted Pact.
