I usually just wash and scrub the pieces with dish soap to remove the mold release from the plastic then go right to priming. This is pretty hardcore :O
You’re a braver José than me, lol. I don’t know if I have it in me to try customizing a Masterpiece figure. There a lot more complex, but best of luck to you! 👍🏼
Unfortunately due to the wide pics I wasn’t able to disassemble that section further, only what you see in the video. If you just bought the figure I’d look into exchanging it possible.
hey Hobbies with Jose i was thinking of switching the legs on earthrise prime and putting them on siege prime, but the legs don't seem to come apart as easily as the earthrise assemnbly what do you recommend?
@@HobbieswithJose I managed to get the legs to come apart with some force a day or so after my initial post, but the legs on the inside are molded different between the two so removing the pin in the knee is the only way to switch the lower part of the legs. Could you tell me what type of pin removel kit it Is I should get to do this.
@@HobbieswithJose I've been working on the pins in the knees since I got the set you've recommended, I got one out but I'm having a bit of trouble getting the rest what am I doing wrong?
Dam! I would never have the guts to even attempt an operation like this. How do you find the confidence to do this? Also if u ever mess up what do you do, do u just go " oh well" and move on?
Ok, I watched all the Prime custom and Megatron custom videos. 5 and 4 so, 9 videos. Tell me, does that paint scrape off easily or is it reliable as a permanent fix? I need to know. I want to customize my transformers too but, without asking or searching, you magically just popped up into my algorithm as if it were a sign that I should customize my bots. Thing is, I transform my bot constantly. It’s an autistic thing I have that I need to be taking thing apart and making them better and transforming them back and forth. Thing is, everything I’ve ever used just wipes off over a month or 2. I never thought about spray paints. I’ve been using oil based paints. Do you have a video that teaches? Send me a link please.
I don’t have a video that teaches that sadly, but constant transformation CAN affect the paint. I mostly keep mine in my display case so I don’t have to worry about it. I recommend you you finish your projects with a Tamiya gloss clear top coat. That’ll help protect the paint though still not 100%. You’ll still need to be careful in the future. I wish you luck! 👍🏽
Yeah, it’s weird that they did that, but it usually pertains to where they have room on the molds. Weirder still is why they decided to paint is metallic blue.
i assume it was so that they could have the back of the head and eyes be transparent plastic so that they could have light piping, but they decided not to for literally no reason. They have a habit of doing that. Studio series bumblebee soundwave has light piping, but his visor is painted over so it doesn't work. Genuinely baffling.
This man did in about half a day what Megatron couldn't in 3 years
For real
Lol
truuuue
He's brilliant for a flesh creature
🤣
Came over from Lazy Eyebrow's channel... WOW well done!!! Looking forward to seeing the complete Earthrise build! Subscribed, liked and belled..
Oh my gosh, thank you much Mita! I SO appreciate it, and thanks for watching! 😁👍🏼
Thank you Brian! I’m glad it was helpful for you! 😁👍🏼
6:32 that’s what’s she said
Seeing Optimus being flayed apart in unsettling
Don’t worry, he gets better in the end. 😁👍🏼
I plan to make a custom ER Nemesis Prime and this is really helpful

Geezes I wouldn't have gone that far in removing almost every screw and needle pin, creates way more work putting it all back together in the end 😅
I actually like the look of Prime with a partially red helmet!
It’s certainly interesting that’s for sure. 😁
I loved the video, it gave me ideas to customize my MP10 Prime

Yoooooo, can't wait to see how this turns out!
Thanks! Same here!!😁👍🏼
Subbed instantly! I’ve been looking for a channel like this! It’s very interesting and helpful.
Thank you so much! Glad you found me too! Hope you enjoy your stay! 😁👍🏼
6:50 How did you remove that piece (the front grill)? I've been trying to take it off so I can access the leg peg to repair it.
NOT EASY. Used a lot of force due to the internal pins. I may have inserted needle nose pliers to help expand it too.
Pretty messed up how you just disassembled my whole body
Don’t worry, check out the finale. 😁👍🏼
My question is how did you separate the front abdomen piece from the back?
Do you know if there's anyway to take apart the skirt flap at the top of the leg? Mine came misassembeled and the slot is the wrong way
Unfortunately due to the wide pics I wasn’t able to disassemble that section further, only what you see in the video. If you just bought the figure I’d look into exchanging it possible.
Could u do Earthrise Starscream next?
SUUUUURE…could you send me one?
😂👍🏼

Not sure, I’ve never owned the Siege version myself although I know the molding is similar. Is it a pin that’s causing the issue?

How much is one part of lacquer thinner? Im not new to customformers, but lacquer thinner is new to me, so, not familiar with the terms and stuff
Just think of it as percentages, so it’ll vary depending on the size of your container, but it’s 10% thinner, 90% alcohol. 👍🏼
hi i have a question, i want to remove paint from a figure, can you mix regular paint thinner with rubbing alcohol 91%?
I’m assuming we’re talking lacquer paints? I’m not sure, never tried 91% myself. But it probably wouldn’t be as effective.
soul hurts watching it torn apart
I prefer “gently dismantled” 😁

Mostly just practice. I HAVE messed up figures and when that happens I say “WELP, time to buy another one” LOL. 🤣
Does anyone know how to take out the wide pins
There’s a method of using a soldering iron but that hasn’t worked for me.
And you can't just push out the pin through the small side
I HAVE, but I’ve also ruined Gigawatt’s knee in the process. 😅 It’s just too difficult in my experience.
Ooh that sucks. But is it still removable
You have my condolences for gigawats knee
I think it would be funny to just have an earthrise prime with literally no paint on it
seeing Prime taken apart and stripped like that was brutal to watch
Hope you watched the rest of the videos where he’s lovingly put back together. 😁👍🏼
@@HobbieswithJose yes I did :)(

@@VegaClawForever It's certainly recommended, yeah.

Wait, the gun is painted black? Why not just cast it in black plastic?
Edit: 14:52 Heheheheheh. *_P R I M E D_* up.
That usually happens when they run out of room on the sprue when molding. 🤷🏻♂️ And I swear that “primed” comment was unintentional, lol! 😂
May you customize siege optimus so i can know HOW TO TAKE OFF THE PANTS
