Smooth as finest silk with a little edge of fry that just makes her vocal so natural and relaxed...just goes to the heart and soul and soothes so deeply! Thanks for the reaction...this is just an example of what we can expect from her new and original tracks next year.
Eddie, your reactions are always great, no matter what the very few comments may say in criticism. And you always respect the artists. It's difficult to watch this performance and keep in mind that she is only 13 years old here. There are other really good singers out there and we have seen many of them but, she is just so different and unique each of her performances is captivating in its own way. As you say, not much movement is used to show any emotion. Instead, like her voice, there are very subtle (and I believe, subconscious) changes of expression, eye movement, slight body movements, etc. that play into the expressions of emotions. We see these things, whether we realize it or not, just because we are human and developed to read body language.

Angelina has a smoky, blues sound like Billie Holiday but she has her own style like Adele has her own style. Angelina is 13, sounds like an old soul and het phrasing and where she breathes is what it is all about, not necessarily when she needs to breathe. Thank you for continuing to react to her. She always respects the song, the original singer(s) and herself. She changes every song to make it hers while never disfiguring it, keeping it recognizable and distinctive at the same time. I believe the authors and previous singers feel honoured by the way she performs and approaches each song. Some people say it's mimicry, I say it's respect for the tone and intent of the singer/songwriter. That's why I hate that version of Bridge Over Troubled Water that sounds angry, no respect for the song. She chooses appropriate songs and when the song is not so appropriate, like Back to Black, she gracefully changes the lyrics in a way to keep its spirit intact.
