@@respirs loving it. I got this one after my 2013 Chevy Malibu transmission went out. I love how high I am and the acceleration on this bad boy. I got the 2016 refreshed cx-5 Grand Touring AWD. It does amazing in the rain up here in Oregon.
The carplay retrofit is pretty easy really. I did it on my 17 Mazda6 and my partner's 16.5 CX-5. On the CX-5, the instructions tell you to remove the center console to replace the USB hub, but you dont have to do that. The shortcut is to remove those little panels in the footwells that come off all the time and take a long screwdriver up to through that hole to press the tabs on the USB hub. After that, it's as easy as running two new cables from the radio down to the hub, and pressing the new hub into place.
My dad's honda crv also has hard touch plastics for the upper door panels and dashboard, but there has not been scratch marks yet. The plastic cover for the trunk was replaced last year after the original one broke for transporting a spindle sander that rolled over.
Just bought this car but it white. I get it tomorrow and I can't wait to drive it. Also excited to enjoy that Bose system. 😎

Can’t you have Mazda install Apple CarPlay for you? I can’t remember if it’s 2016 or 2017 and newer but I thinks it’s only $199 plus labor.
