I realized the number of companies I’ve interviewed with over the course of 4 years keeps changing in this video because I am not good with numbers. I shuffle them in my head and they come out differently hehe this girl needs Count Dracula’s help
Currently employed as a "Product Designer" but am doing mainly admin work... been applying and applying but nothing so far. I so appreciate this video! The honesty you bring to the table is very refreshing... so happy I found your channel.
The portfolio part gets me all the time. i always get annoyed when recruiters make it seem like it’s my portfolio. I have more than enough to show you what i can do
As someone who just finished a certificate and is seeking first time UX Design jobs, I'm glad someone else can confirm that there just isn't many posted cause I have been thinking I'm crazy 🤣
Thank you! I really needed to hear that last part about reminders to take breaks. I just graduated college and have been stressing and driving myself crazy to find a job in UX
phew finally i found an useful opinion from an UX designer's perspective! thanks michi x been thru some horrendous interviews lately, feel like most of the company hiring "UX/UI designer" but they dont actually know their need or requirements. Thus, i am so confused and really dont know how to get prepared before the interviews. btw, love your pug and videos x
Thank you for the transparency, I am in a bootcamp and I don’t feel 100% prepared for the interview process. It feels more like an after thought in the course.
Whenever I open UA-cam I keep checking your profile if you have uploaded a new video lately 😄 Totally love them!! Can you please share how you present your portfolio or a mock portfolio presentation video next 🥺
I'm an aspiring ux designer also based out of SD and I'm also noticing the decline of remote roles. I don't think they'll completely die out but I'm already feeling conflicted about potentially relocating to a big city :\
Hi Mimi, I just bought your question guide and wanted to say thank you so much! It's amazing and definitely what i needed for the next interview round. I wanted to ask, when i spoke with the recruiter and they did say they want to know how I worked with engineers and how the handoff process was but I havent worked with one yet. Any advice on how to let them know I am capable?
hi!! Thank you so much!! That's a great question! I would try and think of relatable areas in your current or previous career that could apply. For example, when I was an Account Manager before becoming a UX Designer, I mentioned my hand off process between myself and Project Managers (how communication is really important, being upfront about timelines and expectations, clear documentation). It could even a nurse handing over paper work to the doctor. Try and think of those type of scenarios and what makes them successful!
Like I’m having a mental breakdown trying to find a new job 😭 I have an amazing portfolio and experience/metrics to back it up but the economy and layoffs is just so incredibly frustrating 😞
Is this the right time to start UX career? I am a non tech person never worked for any corporate business and thinking to start a career in UX design. Please provide your thoughts
Hi, Mimi is it possible to work remotely as a UX Designer in USA from Africa because as soon as they hear I am from part of Africa a lot of companies rejected me
Hi! I can't speak too confidently to that since it's probably very dependent on the company or who knows maybe even tax reasons. I work with team members based in the Europe and East Asia if that helps!

Mimi, you are a gem!
Haha, you mean the Count from Sesame Street, right?

Hi Mimi! Appreciate the content you share here. Does this guide also have questions to ask to recruiter in terms salary negotiation?
Hi! Sorry no they don't, but that's a great idea to add that in the future!
Thanks for the tips!! I subscribed!!!
Thanks for subbing!
Does having a boot camp without a college degree impact how companies can overlook your application? Would love to hear your thoughts
Where did you see Design System roles? I'm interested in those roles! Thank you for sharing in advanced!
I'm so in love with your face
"but Venn diagrams are LIFE OR DEATH!!" said no-one ever.
