Thanks for the mentions. We hear non-owners question our pedestals' stability quite regularly so we put this fun video together to try and put that to rest: ua-cam.com/video/_szp51iXyGE/v-deo.html As a general rule, we don't disparage other company's products but we do own an ArcadeModUp Pedestal and have extensively tested it. We remain extremely confident in our engineering and would be happy to answer any questions.
Good review man. I bought one of these a couple months ago. It's funny, I had the same issue with them telling me that they were out of stock of the chrome T molding. You'd think that they would have an abundance of this color since it's what matches the gamer pro. I only had to wait a couple of day so it really wasn't a big deal. I also had a couple edges on the panels that were chipping a little. They do need to work on their packaging. Overall I am quite happy with my purchase. I was considering the pedestal from the buystuffstore before I decided on this one. The buystuff one looks like it could tip over as it would be top heavy. I also liked the fact that this one has a storage area to keep things in. Might be a good area to keep a small pc or other gaming system. I've been watching a few of your other videos and really like your laid back style of presenting things. Keep up the good work. Quick question, did you change the ball tops on your gamer pro? Mine came with ball tops. Also noted that you have almost 3000 games on Steam, WOW. I love me some Steam, they have awesome sales and the Pinball FX games are really great.
Hey Ramon, thanks for the feedback! I agree the buystuffstore pedestal looked top heavy. I watched Michael B’s video ua-cam.com/video/lIJITTjeLBQ/v-deo.html and noticed how much it moved. In the next video I’ll show what I used for the space in the back of the ArcadeModUp Pedestal. I did change out the balltops on both the Gamer Pro and the ALU. I just like Battops better. I do have a ton of Games on Steam, but it’s mainly due to my day job🙂 I’ve always been a big fan of indie Games and I need to get back to showing them on the channel. Thanks again for checking out the channel!
The great thing about the setup is really only need the Legends Gamer Pro and in some cases GameStop or other retailers have had it as cheap as $100. Keep an eye out and you’ll find it. Thanks for watching!
Awesome vid! I just picked up a legends cab. I’m looking to mod the stock cab to make it a pedestal and use a 40 in TV with coinopsx. Would you be able to tell me what wiring is required? I think I will need a connect board as well correct? Do any guys have to come out of the existing top screen portion ? Thank you for your time
Good stuff. Looks like it could have been a little taller AND it's missing the one thing that would have made it killer... an opening and built-in shelf for a small projector. This thing is begging for that (and I know you did a video of it). It's honestly the only reason I was even considering getting one!
Hey Paul, it certainly gets usage when folks come out to the house in the warmer months. It relegated to my fighting controller in-front of the TV right now while it’s cold and rainy. The 2” wheels I added to it really gave it the extra height it needed for me. Otherwise, on its own, it is a little short for someone 6” and over.
Hey Dan, not normally that close, but for filming it made it easier. I’m old but I’m not blind, lol. Normally, it’s probably about 4-5 feet away, which makes it feel like the arcade experience when I played Tekken 4. The base of the unit might make it look like you stand on it, but you don’t. The front of my feet are probably a few inches from the unit when I play.
Does that big base at the bottom make it hard to sit at it with stools? I want to set this up against a wall in my garage but not stand all the time to play. The BuyStuffArcades one has no base and has no front plate that looks like it gives you some more room for your legs if sitting.
I looked on their website and couldn’t find it. I’m not sure what the SE would have that was different, but you can usually find good deals on eBay for the Gamer Pro that I showed.
Hey Willy, I can’t say with 100% certainty that you can use 2 gamer pros, but I do know you can use a gamer pro and 2 Xbox controllers all via Bluetooth for 4-player games. I can try hooking up my ALU deck and the Gamer pro to my legends core via Bluetooth and verify they work together. If so, you can assume two gamer pros will connect. I’ll update the comment tonight.
@@FactorofGames I'm running the gamerpros directly to my CPU via USB and playing Steam from there. It's just not accessing all 4 controllers. Not sure if you're in atgames official FB group we're there chatting about then recalled your vids and decided to reach out. Thanks FOG!
So it was pretty easy configuring it to work with Steam? And it recognizes the track ball and pinball buttons no issue? I've been trying to decide between this and the Atari Arcade Fightstick from Micro Center, but this just seems like the better option for having two extra buttons plus the pinball flipper buttons! I'd love to get a full 360 rotating tv mount too for verticle games and shmups.
This is very cool, but my only concern centers around the base of the stand. It looks like it's going to be stepped on, a lot, and end up getting scuffed, and damaged. Also concerned about those cam locks getting torn out of that particle stock, by over enthusiastic gamers, putting too much force on the sticks. I could be wrong. I personally feel GRS (Arcade Modup) should've designed to be wider (front to back), at the bottom, and not have that flat piece, jutting out, to be stepped on. I see this vid went up in September. I'm just wondering how it's held up. That 70" TV is perfect for the pinball games. Thanks for sharing.
Hey Thomas, thanks for checking it out! The unit has held up well, I actually play with my one foot on the base funny enough. I agree that it would have been nice to have somewhat of a different design at the base, cause overall it’s a little ugly, but it is very sturdy, so I guess it’s a trade off.
I have the gamer pro and just use it with coinops x, i see u are using it on steam? Can u also use it on a raspberry pi do you know as just a functional controller?
There is an option in the Legends Core menu for connecting to a Raspberry Pi (Wireless Control Deck Mode), but I haven’t tried it. I connect the control deck directly via a USB A to my PC (removing the need to run it through Legends Link App) with Steam and it works great after you configure it.
hi nice video, i recently picked an arcade legends game pro recently. i'm happy with the machine, and the controls. maybe i will mod a stand for it. for pinball, the buttons on the side are way too far apart, so i won't be using it for that. the only problem, is not enough games i like, and not enough in the store to purchase. i like the atari games, but they aren't here. i know i can add them on my own. but i want the leaderboard and other features. for now, i will continue to use the atari vault on pc, and xbox one. i have a dual atari joystick with trackball, so controls are not an issue with those. maybe i should put the atari dual joystick on a stand. later -1
Hey Negative1, thanks for checking out the video! If you have your PC on the same network as the Gamer Pro, you can always connect it up via the LegendsLinkApp to play your PC Atari games.
@@FactorofGames Yeah, i saw that. But I just wanted to play the games and compete on the Atgames leaderboards. But you have to buy the full Atgames legends machine for those. I wonder if they will be on the mini tetris cabinet. later -1
It might seem low, but the TV I’m using is at eye level when I stand and play, so it is very comfortable. If the tv was at chest height like the ALU then it would suffer from the same complaints I had with the Legends Arcade. I fixed that height issue by getting a 5” riser for the ALU, but I don’t think I need the height on the Pedestal. Although the next video I’m adding something to the unit that will give it some additional height, but for a different reason. Thanks for checking out the channel!
I heard other UA-camr’s say the same. I did not have an issue with them and they worked with me on some T-Molding issues at shipping time. Sorry to hear you had an issue.
Thanks for watching!
