Q: What's with the long blank screen at the end?
A: Back in 2008, UA-cam limits all videos to 240p and 10 minutes and 59 seconds. But there was a way around this. If one were to upload their videos in FLV format with an average bitrate of less than 350 kbps, UA-cam would leave the video untouched and serve the FLV file directly to the viewers. This was the only way one could upload videos at 360p resolution. Thus to maximize quality, this video was encoded at around 600 kbps, and then hex edited to a fake duration of 10:59. This brings the average bitrate to less than 350 kbps. With this, UA-cam will not transcode this video to a lower quality format. This video was considered high quality at that time.
Many years have passed. UA-cam now transcodes all videos. And at one time, UA-cam pads this video with 5 minutes of nothingness. And it has been stuck ever since. I can no longer trim this video as this video has passed 100k views. I hope UA-cam would allow me to trim this video in the future.
So kindly just ignore the blank screen at the end.
I can't get over how happy and satisfying this ending is. Heather comes home to a happy family, with a responsible, protective father and two wacky fun loving uncles.

This ending downright proves that the aliens are the true good guys of the franchise
It's like they know what's really lurking in Silent Hill or that the town itself is evil and must be destroyed
And I also think the reason they refused to attack in the first place was
A to make sure no civilians are within the town
And
B to make sure their cover's not blown
Sorta like how the Aliens in Scary Movie 3 are actually trying to destroy the evil VHS tape

Best time they could’ve gone to destroy SH was in 9/11, they’ll be so easily covered up as a terrorist attack but we also don’t know when the silent hill games take place and if there are other people being lured any other day.

I love how unapologetically wholesome this ending is: family is intact, the horrors of silent hill is destroyed and the aliens seem pretty cool!
The only ending I accept.
I miss Team Silent so much... they had a most amazing horror but also has such an awesome and twisted sense of humour too. I love them. I wish we could either erase the existence of all the Silent Hill games since 4... or finally have a good Silent Hill game done by Team Silent themselves as an encore to say "Okay, this game is the LAST ONE - there will be NO MORE Silent Hill after this; but so we can at least end on a high note, here is another game in the same quality and style as SH 3 dammit!"
Oh life would be so complete if this happened... but I can only dream.
Can only hope how Silent Hills will do. Not Team Silent, but least it's back at the Japanese hands.
Even though I do believe Downpour was a step to the right direction.
Downpour was not even close to a step in the right direction... it was a step even farther off a cliff than the previous shitty Silent Hill games... It just manages to fool people like you into thinking it's story is deeper or more clever than it is... As well as having incredibly broken combat to make it "seem" clever in that it makes the character seem horrible at fighting, yet a prisoner of all people is going to have at least a bit more handle on using at least melee weapons -- yet the combat would make you think he was the most horrendous and retarded fighter in the entire series so far.
I just can never understand how anybody thinks Downpour was somehow 'better' than Origins, Homecoming or... well.. it was better than Shattered Memories but it's not hard to make a more interesting game than that. Like the monster design on its own is so awful I can't even begin talking about the Downpour enemies in the same sentence as the originals... And even Homecoming at least had Silent Hill-esque monsters... Whether they had no actual symbolic reference to the nightmare that was going on. The unbearably obvious symbolism of clocks, bars, cages, prisoners, songs referencing confinement... It was so cringe-worthy...
It's maybe because we all know Team Silent isn't making new Silent Hill games and we're just trying to accept the new Silent Hill.

No... it's because they were all horrible games - and Downpour was by far the worst. Had they been released as games not under the Silent Hill name; they would've failed miserably and fallen into obscurity and made no money.

It would be quite evident between games that there was a completely different team working on it; and it is evident that there were team member changes throughout the games in the first place... however they all maintain the theme and style because they are TEAM SILENT games.

The "Douglas" verse is the best, and whenever I have a bad day, I think of it and it instantly makes me laugh.

dey lia I love the ending, well I love all the oldschool SH endings (1-3) haven't played many SH games after that. SH2 is one of my fav games alltime. But SH3 has the best UFO ending imo. It's fun with these types of endings when you allready beat the games once. Trying to get all the endings is awesome n.n And yes I do like to singalong on my verry broken Japanese xD

Silent Hill 1-3 all had a UFO ending, however it was Silent Hill 2 that also had the Dog ending. Shattered Memories UFO ending also has a dog reference to it in that ending.
