  • Echinopsis schickendantzii is a beautiful showy plant for the garden which will put on a display of flowers a few times each season. Even when not in flower this is a very neat plant which tends to slowly creep along the ground with stems vertical as high as one meter.

That display of blooms is stunning! How many separate clumps are in there? Oh, don't forget to tell everyone about the fruit, because it is very sweet and juicy.. Are you planning to go back there to film the harvest? Please tell Paul that I want to eat that cactus fruit, haha! You have to catch them when they are ripe and before the birds do or you can cover them with a cloth until they are ripe. Thanks for the white-balance overloads!

The fruit are tricky to get just at the right time the biggest problem being that they split when ripe and often get covered in ants before you get a chance to pick them. What we see here are three clumps close together grown from three separate cuttings.
