Marner and Pasta were neck to neck for the rush to the puck!!Marner 's head was turned to watch the release of the puck from Boston He should have made an effort,To skate and stretch his stick to poke it.He didnot go for it.Left Sammy to deal with it.Both D' should have been by samsonov.Even though it was on Marner"he was closer.He lost us the game again this year.He may have supported the team all reg season,but like last year slowed down his performance come playoff time .When we were that much closer to taking Florida last year.Count the total shots on net last playoff season for TO.Now at least this year we had an average of 30🎉 but you cant expect your goalie to go into the corner for the puck for youThat was your job"Oh"Ilya will stop it!He's been great all game,laziness period.If any other forward was beside pasta?The outcome would have been differentFind your ...... Funny how, this year, Marner is taking all the heat. Every year, people need somebody to blame. Reilly was the problem on the last goal. Marner played well, offensively and defensively, just like last year. I'd take Marner over Nylander anyday

I want Marner to stay, but picking him over Willy right now? Yea Willy has to play a better 2 way game, but he's never been a problem offensively and is a better playoff style performer.
Marner just needs to swallow his pride, take an ego hit for the next 3-4 years. Give the team a sweetheart deal and restructure his contract to something like 3/21, 4/26, 5/30
The 4-6 million savings per year buys you the missing peices.
This isn't Phoenix, the ownership isn't going to pocket that money themselves, they're using it to buy a top pair Dman to play with Reilly.
They'd use it to bring Stamkos over to actually bolster the PP scoring.
They'd resign Domi and Bertuzzi.
Tavares as the captain should be leading the way, leading by example.
Sign a new 5/25 contract and rip up next year's 11 million.
@shaneturner1809 Marner has been the far better all around player since day 1. Willy has his best year on record, which just happens to be a contract year, and gets almost double his previous contract but Marner is suppose to take a pay cut? I'm sorry but without Marner, this team doesn't make the playoffs and Matthews never gets near 70 goals. Marner has never been a big scorer but he's an amazing set up man. Marner every game in the post season despite not being 100%. Nylander missed 3 games due to a migraine. Nylander has never even bothered trying to get back and help. He casually skates back, if he doesn't just leave the ice completely, which he's done a number of times. Nylander had 1 good goal in the playoffs, as did Marner. As I said, Marner actually plays defense, Nylander never will. Nobody can score in the playoffs if they miss completely, which they would have if not for Marner

He's the longest tenured loser on the Leafs and his -1 on the winning OT goal is a glaring example why. He hasn't won a damn thing for the Leafs in 10 years.
Pasta BLEW past Reilly uncontested and scored the OT winner. Love Morgan, but he cost the game, and thus the series. Morgan was a disappointment this series compared to last year. Very quiet and unnoticeable.
Don't even need to watch... I know this re-run off by heart. Enjoy coasting through the rest of the decade for way too much money, bud.
He was the 5th Best defensemen in this series for us . Played like a 3rd pairing D with top pairing minutes. Unacceptable at his price point.

Sorry, but you've been playing poorly for months and did NOT step up at all this playoffs. Very disappointing. Defense is everyone's job you bonehead. You have to have the puck first before you can go on the offense. Hockey is a team game. Tell that to Bob Gainey and every other Selke trophy winner that they didn't have to come back into their own end and backcheck to help retrieve the puck in overtime. What did you want him to do? Hang out at centre ice waiting for a breakaway pass from Reilly? We had a name for kids like you when I was a kid. We called them goalsucks.
