Music theory counter-rant: I don't think music theory makes people uncreative, but I do think that uncreative people tend to stick very closely to doing what is "proper" in theory without changing it up much. There are plenty of composers and performers who clearly know what they're doing and still do plenty of interesting things. I think generally music theory is more helpful for describing what is happening instead of prescribing what should happen. I played for quite a while by ear, then for a while just knowing major and minor chords, but once I learned more advanced/rare/weird stuff (about as much as there really is to know about scales and chords and mixing and substituting them) things really opened up for me. I use it all to guide me, but I never shy away from doing something I want to do just because my Baroque-era counterpoint teacher would have disapproved of it. As a musician, though, if somebody tells you "This weird melody is mostly based on an F# augmented dominant with a sharp 9" you don't want to just have a panic attack because somebody gave you four whole pieces of information, you'd ideally like to just know they mean the notes F# A# Cx E Gx (or Gb Bb D E A). Stuff like that enables you, it doesn't inhibit you. tl;dr: when musicians say music theory makes people bad it's usually an excuse because they're too lazy to actually learn and apply what little there is of music theory.
Yea, I love music theory even though I am in a basic-level of actually remembering/applying it. Its very fun to expand your "musical palette" when you compose, and being very mindful about your composition actually feels a bit different than composing without thinking too much. But for pop artists I recommend that they just go with their heart and what "sounds good" to them, generally speaking it seems that you will succeed at what you are going for and get a lot of general listeners. For composers and other "art music" styles I do fully recommend learning about music in general cuz it helps you have a wide palette and not just be locked into one style.

In regards of Tacos for breakfast, its true we (sometimes) go and get "Barbacoa tacos" for breakfast those are for breakfast, "Carnitas tacos" are more for like mid day meal kind of things, and "Bistek tacos, suadero tacos, chorizo tacos" are for the night. and burritos are more amptly consumed in the north part of mexico and we dont put sour cream or american cheese on it, usually on a real mexican burrito is "Pierna meat" (the meat from the cows legs) Tomatoes, Lettuce, onion and sometimes sour cream, ketchup and mustard but thats considered weird. and burritos are also an all day food and we have multiple types of burritos. im talking all kinds of burritos Potato and chorizo burritos, Egg Tortilla burritos, Cheese burritos Etc, Also Quesadillas are made from Maiz Mixtamalizado that is corn grinded on a stone with water, baking soda and butter, and out of that "Masa" we make balls like making clay balls, then we use a machine that squishes the ball into a tortilla shape we put "Queso de Adobera" (chesse that melts) and we close the tortilla circle as a taco then we deep fry that taco shape masa with queso inside until masa is crispy and cheese is melted inside, then we make salsa using Fried Tomatoes (Exposing the tomato to direct fire until it burns but not much) grinding them in a blender with a garlic tooth also Fried and Salt, after the Quesadilla is done we dress them with that salsa and lettuce, its just perfect joel

When I was little, I would play Timesplitters Future Perfect with my dad, and he would try just standing and shooting in a circle, and it would never work, I would always run right up to him and just kill him.

In regards of Tacos for breakfast, its true we (sometimes) go and get "Barbacoa tacos" for breakfast those are for breakfast, "Carnitas tacos" are more for like mid day meal kind of things, and "Bistek tacos, suadero tacos, chorizo tacos" are for the night. and burritos are more amptly consumed in the north part of mexico and we dont put sour cream or american cheese on it, usually on a real mexican burrito is "Pierna meat" (the meat from the cows legs) Tomatoes, Lettuce, onion and sometimes sour cream, ketchup and mustard but thats considered weird. and burritos are also an all day food and we have multiple types of burritos. im talking all kinds of burritos Potato and chorizo burritos, Egg Tortilla burritos, Cheese burritos Etc,
Also Quesadillas are made from Maiz Mixtamalizado that is corn grinded on a stone with water, baking soda and butter, and out of that "Masa" we make balls like making clay balls, then we use a machine that squishes the ball into a tortilla shape we put "Queso de Adobera" (chesse that melts) and we close the tortilla circle as a taco then we deep fry that taco shape masa with queso inside until masa is crispy and cheese is melted inside, then we make salsa using Fried Tomatoes (Exposing the tomato to direct fire until it burns but not much) grinding them in a blender with a garlic tooth also Fried and Salt, after the Quesadilla is done we dress them with that salsa and lettuce, its just perfect joel
