    Seeing this display brings back memories of touring the Gilmore Museum with my wife and son. We lost our son to cancer but watching this video has brought back memories of wonderful family trips. Thanks to Matt and Mike!

    Great video, love this museum. I love the Ron Howard Impala aka Steve Bolander coupe. As Toad says “ this is better than the Superflex Moon Beam” ! ( a Darryl Starbird custom). I also concur that in the pantheon of muscle cars for me the 67 Shelby Mustang G.T. 500 reigns supreme. It doesn’t hurt that it was Jim Morrison’s first car he bought after the Doors hit it big. Of course I love all the muscle cars but that’s my fave.

    You need to check out Kevin masters hot rod school and museum next time you head this way! A shop full of 30s willys, wagons, gasser style hot rods. Fiberglass go kart molds! It's too cool!

    Beautiful collection, really interesting for me, this is something I just would never have seen, a lot of the cars you guys might think of as commonplace we have never seen in the uk, lots of makes just never made it over the pond so this is a real treat thank you I love the Duesenbergs, the model t roadster is beautiful, this place is the equivalent of walking into the louvre in France, every one of those cars is a work of art, people forget building cars is a artwork you are creating works of art, you use a hammer and dolly to create, this is way harder than picking up a paint brush, we are now seeing cars being given their rightful place in museums like this and the designers getting the credit they are due.
    The Lincoln convertible, that blue is gorgeous. You guys are so lucky that you can do what you do with cars and then drive them, we just can't do the same here, insurance and government just spoil everything I am so jealous. Thank you for the tour I loved it

      Great comment!!
      I am grieved what I read going on in Europe regarding gasoline powered automobiles, vintage and more recent models. I hope the decisions being enacted become more balanced with common sense.
      All the best!!

      @2rueblue 3 роки тому

      @@robertszymanski7804 i believe customising and renovation and rebuilding with modern components is the ultimate in recycling and is better for the environment than all the pollution involved in manufacturing a new model, we already have guys dropping electric motors into older cars, that is what we should be doing all the big car makers should be offering a swap out and conversion to electric on existing models that are mechanically sound. I dont know if you guys have any laws protecting vintage and classic vehicles if not someone need to get on it quick, you guys made some ground breaking technologies as well as beautiful designs, I would be making sure that car design and also modification should be classed ss an artwork and should be protected from idiotic government legislation. Dont be complacent get hot rodding protected and recognised world wide. The fastest people on 4 wheels are not the big car manufacturers Bonneville is full of guys and girls who made these vehicles in their garage, I would hate this to dissappear, its massive in amaricas culture. Its all this I am jealous of, I would love to move over to America to learn how you guys do it so well. This channel reminds me of the martin brothers garage, the talent is here, only difference is that we get to see more and we get anything we dint understand or we miss explained to us. This is my favorite channel because of this education. Love it

    You guys are so lucky to have a motoring heritage museum like that, I could spend a week there and never tire at looking at it. The Graffiti display was really neat, did you know that Jeff Beck has the original license plate on his ‘32 five window coupe ? He’s been a hotrodder along with Eric Clapton for decades. The track nose T & the Chicken Coupe were great examples of Hotrods from the past.
    Thanks for the walk around Matt, I thoroughly enjoyed it 👍👍👍👍.

    I would love to be able to visit this museum, but as a 72 year old living in the Netherlands it’s not going to happen. Thanks you guys for this video tour, I wish it was longer with more cars and stories about each one. In my 72 years I have watched as cars devolved from works of art and mechanical masterpieces to the boring contemporary vehicles that are hi tech look a likes. Very functional but about as inspiring as a bowl of cold leftover pasta with tripe. The magnificent cars of the 20’s and 30’s, wow! Duesenbergs, Packards, Cadillacs, Auburns, Marmons, and many other makes no longer with us today. The cars of the 50’s, each one very distinctive, unlike todays cars that look pretty much the same. Those 40’s and 50’s cars were what people were driving when I was a kid. Even plenty of 20’s and 30’s cars still on the road. In around 1960, 61, I was roaming around in a junkyard with a friend ( yes, you could do that in those days). We came upon an old Marmon. No idea of the year, late 20’s or perhaps early 30’s. I don’t know if it ran, but it was in decent shape. If we only knew what the future held. Probably could have hauled it away for $500, I don’t know. Maybe more, but still, if my dad had just bought it and put it in storage, maybe slowly restoring it, kept it in the family, it would be worth a fortune today. I’ll never forget the little curtains it had in the rear windows.

The only way you could have improved this is to have had your beautiful wife with you. This is on a par with any documentary I have ever seen on TV. The photography, the music, the narration, the presentation was artistically and professionally spot on. 5 huge stars my friend for you and all that helped you. Nice cool,background music - which makes a change from the the usual high speed lunacy that is associated with car or motorsport vids. And the highly professional filming makes a refreshing change from the jerky stuff recorded on somebody's I-Phone. PS the cars are FANTASTIC - wished I lived on this side of the pond.

Sadly he passed away and his wife kept the museum going - the last time I was there I met her and she was sharp however appeared frail. A couple years back the museum closed. I wonder if the Gilmore got some of those Packards. Among the cars Mr. Stone had a 1929 Dual Cowl Phaeton that was red and a Packard converted to a tow truck.
