  • The vintage vibe piano is one of the electric pianos currently in production. This piano uses tines and electromagnetic pickups to create a sound similar to a Fender Rhodes.
In this video I have a look at the features of the piano and also some of the details inside. It appears Vintage Vibe have taken what they have learnt from repairing and selling replacement parts for vintage pianos and pushed the design of this piano further.
I haven't seen many of these around and when one came up for sale I was lucky enough to work out a deal trading some equipment. The piano plays well and I really enjoy the built in headphones, which allows the piano to played quietly instantly, without other hardware.

Thanks for the look inside. Beautiful playing. If I had had the chance, I wouldn't be able to say no, either. :-) Good for you!

Haha I agree, though it has to slowdown soon there are not many EP types left.... and space is getting limited. Maybe I need to meet with other people and talk about my GAS.

What amp would you recommend for it ?

    • @deancoyle

I think the amps that work best are the cleanest of the clean. Twin reverb or Jazz chorus. But since these amps dont add much flavour you can skip these and go straight from the piano.
But then again it depends on what sound you want?
I would be interested if you agree?

The Rhodes was supplied with a right-angle jack cable because of the front socket (one of which I still have!).
I really don’t like the shiny top, sorry, should be a satin finish if only for practical reasons.

Usually I like to use the harp output on the front, though I agree right angle jacks also exist for that too.
I like the shiny top it reminds me of the original sparkle tops. Though saying that I wouldn't change the top of my original Fender Rhodes.

If you're okay with basic black, like the Mk I (and later) Rhodes, the "Classic" version of the Vintage Vibe piano comes with a textured black ABS top, like the Rhodes and the black Wurlitzers. I ordered mine with that top, as I also am not into the high gloss look.

Congratulations on you buy, but why would anyone sell such a wonderful instrument ?
