Joe Ely Boxcars HQ audio 1979 ACL

In 1979 Joe Ely appeared with Jerry Jeff Walker on Austin City Limits. Back then television didn’t broadcast stereo sound, so PBS radio stations sometimes simulcasted a stereo transmission. People would watch TV and listen to FM radio.
I recorded the radio transmission
I upscaled this clip with A.I. software. Although A.I. can do some nearly magical things, the end result was a mixed bag. The close up shots worked fairly well considering the source video, but on the wide shots there simply wasn’t enough information for the A.I.
Of course I synced in the HQ audio.

@@Talking2musicians they always stretched the rocking solos out when I saw them live but the original album faded it out and apparently here, my guess is for TV.

I here is a later version of the band but no Lloyd Maines pedal steel. Still looking for that.
