Just saw him play this one at Sam's Burger Joint in San Antonio. He and the accordion player were fabulous. He's a very nice man too. One of Texas' great musician storytellers yet he's very down to earth.
I met Joe Ely in 1975 at a huge house party between Amarillo and Canyon Texas. The party was put on by Dr. Hudson I think, and his brother, Karl Hudson, who was also a licensed MD at the time.
