It's universally bad behavior to reject people under no other basis than the fact that they are different. Doesn't matter the country. Just because something is a norm, doesn't mean its right. That is not to say that ignorance doesn't fuel racism, but it is important to understand where people are coming from, and (at least to me) racism carries the implication of there being some sort of malice or superiority to prove when it is used on its own. To use your own example, if somebody was refusing entry to a Saudi Arabian because they thought they would harm the environment because of their views coming from the societal norms of their own country, is that wrong? However, regardless of the outcome, the owner shouldn't be getting called absolutely racist by people who's only information is "a Saudi Arabian was told to leave an establishment", because there might've been a legitimate reason behind it or there might have been an illegitimate reason that had nothing to do with race or there might've been an illegitimate reason that they genuinely thought was legitimate

@@sirebellum0 ok but what if that Saudi Arabian guy had also walked in with two women (same age) wearing hijabs and a large amount of the staff are women and several of them had a negative reaction when they walked in. There is now much more probable cause to believe that he will take issue with the workers and there is now a reason to tell them to leave preemptively. However, that interaction could still be called "a Saudi Arabian was told to leave an establishment" as a summary. To connect this back to the video, there is a real possibility that there was information that we weren't told and that they thought was completely natural and didn't mention (or they just didn't know it in the first place) but that had made those hotel workers much more aggressive.
@@crowwithashortcake hello, I am here to inform you that my grandfather, who I love very much, is a Muslim immigrant. I would also like to inform you that I have never seen a hijab before in my own family. I am both well aware of the fact that some women choose to wear a hijab by their own volition and that some have identified it as unnecessary in Islam. I would also like to say that I am not the kind of fool who would say that "violent people can be identified by their clothes" or something. Further, I would like to point out that in both my comments I never said or implied that this fictional Saudi Arabian man actually beat either of his wives, the point of the description was to showcase that he is both Middle Eastern and very traditional Muslim. In reality, the person I was responding to is the one who said that the societal norm of Saudi Arabia, and thus the common opinion of the people, is the mistreatment of women. Of course, I agree with you, it is not the women's fault that others feel uncomfortable seeing them, especially so if they do as a showcase of their culture. However, just because nobody should feel guilty about others feeling uncomfortable because of who they are, we should not simply discount the very real discomfort that those people feel, even if it is built on the prejudices they grew up on. I will admit that due to the nature of my comment it appears that I was absolving the workers of their negative views towards Muslims, and for that, I apologize. The thing I had intended to absolve was the act of refusing the group service because of the people's discomfort itself, not the discomfort on its own. To connect this point to the argument I was trying to make, it is not that prejudice and discrimination are ok, but that to decide on your own that something is most definitely racist, especially when it is built on "Japan has a lot of xenophobia", is beyond foolish and to presume you know enough to say to say such a thing so definitively is the strongest evidence that you do not

Just as one of the "safe" Japanese people they let in could actually be a rowdy Yakuza member or something, that "wicked foreigner" they let through could be extremely polite & respectful. Therefore one should not be prejudice
To connect this point to the argument I was trying to make, it is not that prejudice and discrimination are ok, but that to decide on your own that something is most definitely racist, especially when it is built on "Japan has a lot of xenophobia", is beyond foolish and to presume you know enough to say to say such a thing so definitively is the strongest evidence that you do not
If they really donated money to a fkn military, that would've been lit.
i was the 1k like : )
while I do feel bad for the boys as a brown person who experiences racism on the regular I then remember that they are white europeans who on most days experience no racism so yeah I don't feel too bad for them
They are foreigners living in an Asian country
This a daily occurrence for them
Yeah one we do and two you just don't like white people
“Haitekonaide” litterally just means the master didn’t want Chris and Connor to enter . If it was really more malicious he would have just said “detetekure”. Their is no evidence to suggest it was racism.
I'll never understand the clowns that try to justify japanese bullshit.
Why would someone turn down customers when room is available and they were still open? Kinda seems like racism and discrimination to me…..
@@atomics6397 Because they might be setting up, they have a right to? their might be other parties coming, whenever a person says "haitekonaide" it implies im doing something right now please dont interrupt. Im merely saying they have no evidence to suggest racism.
Haitekonaide is keigo right?
Also wouldn't they say if they were setting up the room or if it was booked already?
I was wondering exactly what was racist while listening, but some people are hesitant with foreigners so it might be that idk
@@itsmefm Its not exaclty keigo, but japanese people talk in casual language to foreignors because they need to dumb it down for them to make it as simple as posssible. They dont need to give an excuse if they are busy and need to clean or on break (probably from being overworked).
Thats what im saying though, nothing racist was said.
it makes me really happy that the czech guy gave em plumbs godbless
Dobrý den. Těší mě.
Guessing They are not real keen on same sex relationships..
