Man I am an X-men fanboy. Love this series. But honestly the timeline is wack haha. They all stay in their 30s from 62 to 92? They couldn't use prosthetics or something? Then a few years later Fassbender turns into McKellen... There is even some fan speculation that none of them are in continuity with each other since they did a poor job with interconnection. Even Days of Future Past, Wolverine has his adamantium claws back even though they were removed on The Wolverine. You actually have to use fan theories for some of the things to work, "Magneto helped Wolverine out." or "Prof X has a twin that he put his mind into, that's how he is still alive" etc. But I have to say some of these films are all time classics. X-men, X2, Deadpool 1 and 2, First Class. Days and Logan are maybe the 2 best comic movies of all time imo. And Legion was awesome. Crazy and psychedelic way to look at mental illness. It was honestly what I wanted Moon Knight to be even though I did enjoy that too. And I don't think we will ever have better casting than Wolverine and Deadpool and both versions of Magneto and Prof X. Well all 3 Prof X's. The guy they got for him on Legion was very good as well.
@@kikosawa ? First Class, Days of Future Past, Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix are all a Deadpool schizophrenic illusion? Uh that's one fan theory I haven't heard yet.
Days of Future's Past felt like all the movies combined in one. It was a mixed bag but it was better than I expected. Not Infinity War Caliber but good in itself
Great comments! Yeah, I could do an hour long video on all of the continuity issues in the X-men movies. It's so bizarre how the writers just couldn't find it in themselves to tell a connected story w/o continually faceplanting in the process. But all that said, yes, several of the movies were amazing. I agree, Logan and DoFP are the best and would rank near the top of list list of all superhero movies. And I really did like X2 and the two Deadpool's as well. Plus, Legion was just insane. What a show. Love the feedback on the vid. Thx for watching and sharing your thoughts!
@@geesixnine Right! DoFP was likely not my all time favorite superhero movie (i.e. over Infinity War / Endgame / No Way Home, etc), but I give them so much credit for finding a way tie everything together in a very compelling storyline. Extremely well done!
I remember The Gifted. I watched the first season when it aired on TV. Never got around to watching the rest of the series. I need to do that one day. I always assumed The Gifted takes place in the Pre Days of Future Past Timeline and Legion takes place in the Post Days of Future Past Timeline.
Yes, I agree, it seems Gifted is pre-DoFP and Legion might be post DoFP. But the Xavier that appears in the Legion show seems to have a very different past than the one in the X-verse. Then again, Legion was intentionally vague in every aspect, which did make it all the more of a trippy and wild show. Anyway, thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!
@@AbitofEverything4U the xavoer of legion in what i heard about season 3 is what makes trying to place legion in any timelines of X-Men difficultone of these days i probaly should watch it all 3 seasons to get better idea.
I will say that as someone who wasn’t as big of a fan of the X-Men Universe films as some other people. I only completed watching around 75% of them. I still really enjoy hearing your style of commentary applied to the subject! Still a really interesting watch as always, and I love hearing you pick apart all the small comments from different directors and producers. It’s fascinating, even if I wasn’t as into the movie. It’s great getting to learn about all of the behind-the-scenes goings on that we wouldn’t have other wise. Great vid and thanks as always man!
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. I agree, I love going behind the scenes and seeing some of the reasoning for the decisions that were made. It's fascinating to see what plans were in place and what ended up getting dropped along the way. Really appreciate your kind words and positive feedback!
I remember an interview when the shows are ended, that said both series The gifted and legion are part of the X-men timeline after Days of future past altered timeline, Legion established in the past (1990s) and the Gifted in present days (2017). I can tell you is true because I worked with marvel Latin America doing some conferences and they said the same. Another interview said that all new X-Men movies and Tv shows are in the new altered timeline created after days of future past. Some proof is that on Legion there’s a mention the events of Dark Phoenix when Jean Gray fight the x-men in the town and kills Mystique, other is the Bombay change name to Mumbai that was in 1995 and there’s a conversation about that in the show, so it have sense.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing all of that. I only know what I was able to discover from my research on the quotes of the producers about the shows. I included those quotes in the video and it sure seemed like Gifted was in the original timeline, right before Days of Future Past and that Legion was off in a unique timeline. But I'll look around and see if I can find some of the interviews you mentioned. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!
In LEGION, they reference the Red Hook Incident, which happens in the Dark Pheonix, and the guy who wrote/directed Dark Pheonix, is the producer of LEGION. LEGION takes place after Dark Pheonix, as it features subtle hologram technology outside of his head world, which was present in the original X-Men movie timeline as well. That, mixed with the varied fashion and the levels of tech, would place the show's main events during the mid 2000s (when retro fashion was back in style). The state of human/mutant affairs also lines up well enough what we see at the end of Dark Pheonix. Don't forget that David time travels. So, that can make things more confusing.
Yeah, that Legion series is a tough one to pin down. It would be surprising if Legion is be set in the Dark Phoenix timeline, as there were a ton of quotes included in the video from the producers saying that it is it's own thing and not tied to the X-men timeline. Plus, if it was during that timeline, it would be hard to explain why Professor X doesn't help him in the 90's timeframe (versus only in the past). And the Professor X that does finally appear has a totally different backstory than the Professor X in the movies. I've heard a rumor that the "incident at Red Hook" could be relationed to the cult-ish tragedy story by H. P. Lovecraft titled "The Horror at Red Hook." Regardless, it seems very hard to imagine Legion is happening in the revised X-Men timeline. But just my take on it. They really do make it hard to figure out. Anyway, thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your theories. Really appreciate it!
having only see season 1 of legion,it was hard to finish since at times unsure of what was going on,i assumed it was it's own universe.wasn't aware along with a version of Xavier they made refernce to an event of dark phoenix.you have convinced me i should watch entire series and i do have subscription to hulu.
I think if I'm showing someone the Marvel movies/TV shows for the first time, I'd do it in this order: -Sam Raimi's Spider-Man -Marc Webb's Amazing Spider-Man -The MCU in chronological order up until Avengers Endgame (maybe including the Netflix and ABC shows) -Loki S1 -What if? S1 -All the other non-MCU movies in their release order (Snipes' Blade, Fox X-Men, Ang Lee's Hulk, Affleck Daredevil, Punisher 2004, Nic Cage Ghost Rider, Fox F4, Into the Spider verse, Venom, etc, depending on how many make it to Secret Wars) -Rest of MCU, again in chronological order
Yes, I love that order. I think that works really well. I really like the idea of holding off on the non-MCU movies until after Loki and What If. Thanks for sharing your watch order. Really appreciate it!
@@AbitofEverything4U not gonna lie but I prefer to think that Loki’s Multiverse theory only affects the MCU timeline where as the Fox Xmen/Pre MCU and the SonyVerse (Tasm/Venom verse) have their own sacred timelines but are not controlled by some dumb inter dimensional companies.
I would start with something not canon to the mcu like blade, the gifted, or agents of shield. That way you can test the waters. All of these shows don’t have any extreme commitment and they are pretty solid. That’s what I did with my mom she was overwhelmed with the state of marvel and thought she had to watch everything to get the picture which intimidated her to start so we just watched blade and the X-men movies together and are currently watching the gifted and will start the mcu soon starting with. I’m thinking of watching it release order until civil war where we first meet Spider-Man then watching the previous versions then continuing. Then once we reach the end of phase 3 take a detour and watch the Netflix’s squad then return back.
I decided to binge watch the whole 2 seasons of THE GIFTED one after the other and then look for where this series actually exist in timeline.....but today U actually broke my heart telling "the whole series timeline took place before everything blew up in X MEN FUTURE PAST".... U BROKE ONE HEART TODAY BRO
Ikr? Seeing that story from the creator where he was negotiating where to put the series and was like "we'll put right before DOFP so it won't hurt continuity" made me so sad for him. It's a great series and it's a bummer it didn't get more respect.
Fun fact Lauren Donner was one of the people who helped Kevin Figie begin his journey in the movies with X-Men 1. Also unrelated, but I would also like if Marvel we're to make a subsection of Marvel Studios, Marvel Legacy products which can continue separate Marvel franchises, like another X-Men movie just to finally properly fill in the gap between Dark Phoenix and Days of Future Past. Or Tobey and Andrew's Spidey's. Something like DC is doing with DC Elseworlds, just sounds like a good idea to me.
That's a cool fact about Lauren Donner. She seems like a smart cookie, so I'm not surprised she would have spotted Feige and helped him with his career. And that's an interesting idea about a Marvel Elseworlds. I agree, I would have liked to see some of those stories get completed. Maybe one day. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!

It would actually be easy to "fix" the timeline. The biggest problem with the timeline is First Class, which creates most of the inconsistencies (although these are largely explainable). We can think that by modifying the past in DoFP, they have created fractures in the course of time and that therefore First Class is the new past of the post-DoFP timeline. So if we want we can put Legion in the original Timeline. For post-DoFP issues I keep this rule in mind and also add that Deadpool is set in the late 80s/early 90s (Always strange, but Deadpool himself says that the timeline is messed up), so the new timeline would be: - 1962: First Class - 1973: DoFP - 1983: Apocalypse - late 80s/90s: Deadpool - 2018: The New Mutants - 2029: Logan After which 2 ramifications take place. The first is caused by the fact that Deadpool faces death in this film, also thanks to the fact that he knows that Wolverine will die in the future. The second is due to Cable's time travel. Dark Phoenix has inconsistencies with Apocalypse precisely because of the time travel. In doing so, the birthdates of some X-Men are also slipped (for this reason they are still young in DP). The new timeline would be: - 1991: Deadpool 2 - 1992: Dark Phoenix - 1992: Deadpool 2 Post Credits Deadpool travels through time causing ramifications: - Timeless: Deadpool 3
Fascinating theories! One thing is certain...the X-verse timeline needs a ton of explaining (such as you have done a great job of providing) to make any sense out of. I just don't get how they managed to make it so confusing with so few movies. Oh well, they were fun to watch regardless of the wonky timelines.
@@AbitofEverything4U actuly first class is the film which caused most problems.days of future past did best to merge all films together before basicly erasing them as Kitty pryde makes clear to wolverine much of franchise will be erased except for his memory of them.
I like to think of Logan as it's own universe since it also has a past that seems way different. The food in Logan is engineered so that mutants don't happen. And no new mutants had been born in 15-20 years.
Yes, it does feel like Logan is on its own timeline and perhaps in Deadpool 3 we will get a confirmation one way or another. I will say I was surprised at just how many times Logan referred back to the previous movies, including the ties with Essex Corp and the Terragen Facility. But in the end, I think it's non-conclusive and thus I think each person can interpret where they feel falls in the timelines. Seems they wanted to make it abit ambiguous. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your feedback. Really appreciate it!
It is so hard to try and get a good timeline with all of these movies so if someone want them all on the same timeline or if they see every movie in it's own timeline, good on you. I feel like we as fans can agree that it is a mess. I am curious on how everyone would rank the movies from best to worst because ranking is always fun, though it has been so long since I've seen some of them so I can't rank all of them myself but at least Logan and Days of Future Past are my top two.
Yeah, I need to give that ranking some thought. I would like go with Logan and DoFP right up at the top. X2 and both Deadpool movies are also very good. I'd likely then move to First Class, The Wolverine and then first X-men movie. The rest (Last Stand, Origins, Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, and New Mutants) are all pretty bad.
The Legion and the Gifted have always felt like separate universes. What's more, the official guides to the Marvel Multiverse also list them in other universes NOT related to the main X-Men franchise. The panel's moderator, Entertainment Weekly's Tim Stack, asked where The Gifted fits in the X-Men universe. "One of the great favors that Days of Future Past did for all of us is establish that there are many streams," "One answer is that we exist in one of those streams. This is its own universe, we don't exist in the same timeline as any specific movie or comics. But there are shared characters. We're doing our own thing, and, as I say, there are many streams."
Yes, Legion is definitely in it's own universe for sure. Gifted is murkier. I did include in the video the quote you mention in your comment, but other quotes seem to indicate that Gifted is in the original timeline such as this one: Matt Nix said, "I was just the guy that came in with the best idea for staying out of the way of the movies, which was, 'Hey, remember in Days of Future Past how they go back in time and then there's an anti-mutant dystopia in the future and then in this time, it looks like our time?'" Using that era as the setting for The Gifted meant that nothing that happened would affect the movies: "Just give me the years in between, and then my show will get erased, it doesn't matter," said Nix. "It doesn't touch your movie timeline, because it's the timeline you erased. So just give me that, and then I'll do that, and I'll sort of show how mutants came to be oppressed, and then I can stay out of the way of the movies." That's part of the frustration of the X-verse...if you read three different quotes they are saying three different things. Sigh. But either way, it seems to fit nicely in the original timeline, so I personally like it there. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!

something that I have seen from different youtubers is how they would make a marvel cinematic universe if all of the properties were all together from the start and I would be interested on your take considering your big thing is timelines. I want to see your version of marvel because it would be probably be the best timeline made so far. If it ends up as a video that is hours and hours long I would love to see what movies and shows you would make if you were in charge.
That's a really cool idea. I suspect Feige dreams are filled with an MCU that had all of the characters from the start. I'll give that some thought. Thanks for the great suggestion!
you definitely make the best content out here, thanks for the time and effort you're putting in it! I can't wait for Quantumania release just for watching your breakdown and timeline videos
Not watched gifted yet and am working my way through legion. I'm going on the theory that mutants themselves as a concept cause the multiverse to get a bit tangled. Random people popping up with varying degrees of reality warping abilities including time travel, travel into other dimensions and messing with physics is a recipe for chaos. I would like to see how they would affect a world like the MCU where there are beings like the gods, sorcerers and Celestials seeing humans randomly developing abilities that threaten the fabric of reality and how they respond. Legion seems to exist in it's own reality from what I can tell, though would love to see David Haller appear as a powerful multiversal being akin to the Scarlet Witch or the Watcher. The idea that humans aren't just evolving into a slightly stronger creature but into cosmic horrors is interesting to me.
Fascinating analysis. Yeah, I agree, it's interesting to see humans evolving into creatures that are as powerful as some of the cosmic beings roaming the universe. David is a fascinating character study and you are right that it would be wild if he somehow returned, perhaps in Secret Wars, as a multiversal threat. I think you will enjoy Gifted once you get a chance to watch it. Legion is better on the whole, but Gifted was alot of fun as well. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!
A rabbit hole I've always been afraid to open up is how the animated Marvel films and shows all connect back to the mcu somehow. Like, there's obviously X-men 97', which is slated to have SOME sort of connection to the MCU, though I'm not sure how and to what extent. This would mean that the 90's Spider-Man, Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, AND Fantastic Four shows are ALL connected via association. Then there's the damn Spider-Verse films, which, via association with the Venom-verse, have their movies tied into everything. Plus, with the new movie coming up, we now also have Spectacular Spider-Man and all of the shows and movies HE'S connected to, Spiderman: Unlimited, the friggin Toei Japanese Spider-Man, the PS4/5 Spider-Man (who has his own little multiversal rabbit hole) and who knows who else.
Yes, I agree, it is very interesting to speculate which of the animated shows might cross over with the MCU in Secret Wars. My guess is that it won't be many or if they do get referenced, it will be in a small fashion, but I would love it if they found a way to tie into those stories. Please give me Firestar from Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends. That's all I ask! Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!
If the rumours are true that Deadpool 3 may be a sendoff to the Fox films, I think that would logically include the Fantastic 4 too. Especially as they were set to appear in Deadpool 2 for a time. So for better or for worse, I consider them to be in that timeline(s)
Yeah, I'm hopeful that Deadpool addresses the Fantastic Four. I mean it seems there have to be at least two timelines, since we have two different sets of Fantastic Four (not including the one from the 90's). So maybe we can get a firm answer on that when Deadpool starts to wreak havok on the Fox universe. I'd love to know a more firm answer on it one way or another. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!
@@AbitofEverything4U Thanks! I'd guess that it'd make sense for the 2005 film and its sequel to take place in the original timeline, whereas the 2015 version takes place in the revised timelines. This fits with post DOFP characters being born sometimes decades later But then again, it is also in character for the deadpool films to just ignore that continuity and highlight the mess one last time before it erupts

Totally agree. It really looked like they were headed in that direction. It would have helped the universe alot if they had explored several characters origins. Truly a bummer.
I have them on the same timeline on mine. Its satisfying to have everything The 2008 hulk film was originally intended to be a sequel but it changed during production
Right! I like them all on the same timeline as well and I do think that was the original intent at least. And yeah, would have been interesting if the 2008 IH was truly a sequel to the first Hulk film. But I'm glad in the end that it wasn't. Great feedback!
At some point I gave up trying to understand the X-Men timeline and just ended up watching it in release order. Weirdly that way it's in its make sense a bit order.
Yes, I think it might just be easier to do a straight release order watch in some regards. I do still like seeing where things were meant to fit in the grand scheme, but sometimes the simplest path forward is the best one. Great feedback!
To me, the Deadpool movies have always been part of the timeline. If anything, the biggest thing disproving it isn't even the cameo from the X-Men in Deadpool 2, I'd say it's the fact that Colossus looks totally different. But to me, there's no doubt they're in the same universe and will probably be reasurred once Deadpool 3 comes out. I feel like the "not tethered" part of the New Mutants quote meant, in the same universe but not connected to it, like no direct references that sugget it'd be in the same universe For completionists' sake, I wanted to add to the that the 70s Captain America actually had 2 movies; that in addition to Generation X, there's also Power Pack, which is even more obscure but technically had a TV movie which served as a pilot in 1991; and that there was Blade: The Series in 2006. But honestly, all of these are extremely obscure and usually don't count when talking about the core Marvel movies or TV shows. To me, the animated movies and shows have a much better chance to feature in Secret Wars than any of these or the ones you mentioned in the "Watch these entries as desired" part, except for maybe Japanese Spider-Man and the 70s Hulk which already have or will have slight references (Supaidaman in Across the Spider-Verse and 70s Hulk as a reference in She-Hulk) Overall, good to hear how both of these shows connect (or don't) to the larger X-Men universe. Legion specifically has had so much buzz around it as it being the most underrated superhero show ever that I really need to watch it. Great video as always!
I'm with you that I think Deadpool 3 will hopefully do some heavy lifting and try to tie in where some of the X-verse movies fit (including his own movies). Can't wait for that to come out and hopefully answer a few questions. I also agree with your thoughts on New Mutants. I think it is in the revised timeline and the quote just meant that there won't be any major ties to the other movies. Also, great additions to the "other stuff" list. It's insane how much potential there is for tie-ins during Secret Wars. Lastly, you are right that Legion is a really good show. I think you'll enjoy it if you get a chance to watch it. Excellent feedback as always!
Nice use of various sources for the information and still thinking how much the multiverse might be included in the MCU and other projects but still you do have placements for them
Yes, I agree, it was alot fun trying to pull everything together (although it felt like it was nearly impossible at times) and I am now anxiously awaiting to see how Deadpool 3 tries to pull it all into the multiverse. Should be an awesome movie! Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!
I have a theory that has more to do with the x-men timeline in general. What if cable time travel was after logan and new mutans? That is to say, in the second timeline Deadpool dies of cancer and years later the end of days of the past future passes and then the events of New Mutans and Logan happen where the mutant situation is critical and after that in 2068 Cable travels to save his family and decides to stay to avoid what we end up seeing in Logan, he mentions that he is going to stay for a while to prevent the world from going to shit, and what if he said it because of the events in Logan well then that cable stays and by preventing the westchester accident from happening and so in the current x-men timeline almost everyone would be alive
i liked your video.and shared it with other X-Men fans.you have something other on youtube don't logic and reasoning and also doing research fully not just pulling one quote.things you mention on apocalypse, deadpool, logan, and new mutants i have tried pointing out to others.you convinced me to put gifted as part if my viewing of original X-Men timeline.

Interesting. As it seems to me, the X-Men franchise is far less strict with the continuity requirements than the MCU, but in turn it's way less demanding to the author as well. Many creation teams just don't sweat about it, doing their thing, making a story of their own. Sometimes they link it back to the movies, but the bar is so low now, that it takes a really big amount of BS to write a title out of the timeline. It could all remain in a single continuity, of course, but it's not a necessity like it is with the MCU. We just know it happened, doesn't matter in what way. And, what they meant by a "stream" back there is what we call "a branch" now, I wager. A branch, a string, a world line, a parallel reality, a universe, so on. A lot of synonyms, huh
Yes, I did find some of the quotes very interesting. The idea of making a $200M TV serial by connecting each movie does have its drawbacks. I think Feige perfected it, but there are benefits to staying disconnected. What then becomes so tough is when they do decide to make a connection and yet they mess even that one connection up. It's like, either don't try to connect them or connect them correctly. The X-Verse never seemed to do any connections right. So bizarre. And yea, it seems there were a ton of terms for what we now call branch. I just found it so strange that they didn't land on their own terminology and instead seemed to make a new word up each time they went to an interview. But yeah, I had alot of fun researching all of that and getting some of the backstory. Wild stuff!
@@AbitofEverything4U they do what they wanna do with their continuity, I guess :D Why bother with the world that make sense when you can have ScreenCrush drooling over Easter eggs on the shelves in Wolverine's house
Yeah, I had the same confusion. It seems they have now decided just to loosely pull some threads from that movie into the canon, but overall the movie is a multiverse story.
@@AbitofEverything4U Increidble hulk started out as loose sequel to 2003 film but along way they decered to loosily reboot it by giving new origin and tying it to super soldier program.but they made it confusing to point even entermain weekely in 2012 when avengers came out thought incredible hulk was sequel to hulk.
I personally think Legion is better than Daredevil as it doesn't have any subpar episode, whereas the tail end of Daredevil S2 flounders a bit. I also really like how trippy it is. If I were to list my favorite comic book shows (all of them Marvel or DC because I haven't seen anything else), they'd all be the crazier, extremely confusing, higher concept and/or supernatural stuff. With a few exceptions, of course, but mostly the crazy shit. Also, Legion has a lot of white void psychology scenes in their episodes, which I loved, because psychology is cool as shit, and I watched VSauce's Mindfields around the same time, which made it all really fun.
I agree...Legion is near the very top of the list of Marvel TV for me as well. I do like Daredevil just abit better overall (since I thought Kingpin was so amazing), but I agree that season 2 drags abit in the second half. I wonder if we'll ever get a show like Legion again. We can only hope!
might have been suggested already but is it possible that Legion doesn't need to be as separate as this. Deadpool went back as far back as an infant hitler. soooo something he did could have created a branch where the 70's era Legion could take place?. perhaps the TVA cleaned it all up relatively quickly though and this is what grievance they will have with him at the start of Deadpool 3.
so i am going to try along with watching netflix marvel this viewing of X-Men-First class,Origins,X-Men/X2/The last stand,Gifted seasons 1and 2,DOFP the rogue cut,Apocalypse,Dark Phoenix,Legion seasons 1-3,Deadpool,new mutants,Logan,Deadpool 2.note all the time travel shengins and deadpool mentioning wolverine's death in breaking of fourth wall is why I say view deadpool 2 last.then whatever next deadpool film is called which likely leads to secret wars and possibly destrucon of multiverse and creation of just one timeline going forward.
I mean, it is a Marvel property and we've seen that there are "animated" universes in the multiverse via Multiverse of Madness and the Spider-Verse movies. So I don't see why Big Hero 6 wouldn't be part of the multiverse. I wonder if we'll see any nods to the character in Secret Wars?
Second comment here, not sure if it’s worth adding but I feel like it has enough of a connection that it should at least be mentioned, Spider-Man the new animated series. It used the same kingpin as the daredevil movie, making it a part of that universe. Especially if he appears in across the spider-verse (I can’t remember if he did in the trailer or not). Gee if spiderverse ends up becoming a part of the mcu multiverse somehow the stuff tangentially connected to the the mcu is gonna expand incredibly, things like the ps4 game and nearly or maybe entirely all of the Spider-Man tv series across the years will technically be a part of the MCM (marvel cinematic multiverse)
Yeah, great points about the Spider-verse and the MCU possibly connecting. I wouldn't put it past Feige and Sony to find a way to make it all work. Dang, that would be really amazing. Thanks for bring that up. You've got me all the more excited for the potential!
You reply to a lot of comments so I doubt you'll remember my X-Men timelines comment, but upon consideration I think New Mutants actually fits better in the original timeline (in 2020 between The Wolverine and Days Of Future Past) as I'm pretty sure one of the teens in the movie says a line about the X-Men being gone. This would make more sense in the original timeline as the X-Men would be off trying to stop the sentinel project from occurring before it inevitably does at some point before Days Of Future Past begins. Also, the Essex Corp would still make sense in respect to the Apocalypse, Deadpool and Logan references from the new timeline after Days Of Future Past. Due to the fact Essex Corp could be working on the same projects in both timelines, meaning the line from Logan stating that no known mutants have been born since 2004 could also work in both timelines. It could also help make sense of the scene where we get flashes of footage that was used in Logan, as New Mutants being placed in a separate timeline means Essex Corp could have been working on the mutant clones years/decades earlier than they were in the new post-Days of Future Past timeline.
Interesting suggestion! I'd never considered the possibility of New Mutants being in the original timeline, but if The Gifted is indeed in the original timeline (that's my theory at least), then it would make sense for both to be there as well. Very cool theory that you pose!
@@AbitofEverything4U thank you, also are there are scenes in Deadpool 2 that indicate Deadpool went back far enough to create a timeline where Legion could take place?
@@AbitofEverything4U if Deadpool 3 does include Morbius and he mentions something about Deadpool causing chaos in the multiverse then I guess it's safe to assume he could have created the timeline in which Legion occurs... I also like The Gifted fitting into the main timeline with no inaccuracies.
Expanding on this huge timeline I’d love to see (likely a shorter video since there’s not much to comment on) but the timeline connecting the planned and cut connections between fantastic 4 (the original two movies), the X-men universe and Sam raimis Spider-Man. And if you still think that should be taken seriously even though it was cut.
Oh wow, now that would indeed have been something. I'll have to do some research on that. I know they planned on an FF / X-men crossover and then scrapped it. But I wasn't aware of an attempt to connect with Spider-man. Very interesting indeed. Thanks for the heads up about that!
I know one of the Punishers appears in one of Rami's Spider-Man films (can't remember which of either), but because of rights issues, they couldn't acknowledge it was that character, so the actor basically just becomes a random New Yorker extra.
Hey bud! I got an interesting theory for you. What if I tell you that all of the Pre MCU movies: Tobey Maguire Spider Man, Darben Affleck, Hulk 2003, Wesley Snipes Blade, Thomas Jane Punisher, 2005 Man Thing, 2005 Fantastic 4 and Nicholas Cage Ghost Rider are in the same universe as the X Men movies (both original and Revised timelines)?
That would be pretty cool, actually. I would create alot of questions of why there weren't more crossovers between characters, but I'd be down with that if they found a way to make it work. Regardless, I'm looking forward to seeing several characters from those earlier movies returning for Secret Wars. Should be amazing! Thanks so much for watching the video and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!
the gifted was great, one of my favorite shows. as much as i tried to pick up AOS it was so boring to me while in my opinion gifted was always interesting and had great use of mutants.
Yes, I liked The Gifted alot as well. It felt slow here and there (like many shows do at times) but it never let me down by ending with a big reveal or plot point that kept me hooked to the very end. Would be fun to see some of those characters back again. Thanks for watching the vid and sharing your feedback! Really appreciate it!
after rewatching s1 of the gifted on hulu i say pretty easy to view the gifted between the wolverine and days of future past.only real problems are newspaper articles on von struckers.but far more to connect gifted to original timeline.with legion the problem with trying to tie to eather one is from what i heard about Xavier in final Season.otherwise due to the noah hawley comments you found i would had put it in eather original timeline before mutants were well known or revised tomeline before 1973 events of days of future past.now red hook incident in episode 1 of legion would connect it to dark phoenix since that is where jean confronted X-Men and police outside father's home however mutants well known in 90's in new timeline.it's best to gi with lauren shuler donnor and jeph loeb and say it's stand alone universe.
@@AbitofEverything4U thanks.as die hard X-Men fan i pay attention to things.i am self descriped old timer x-man fan lol as i was collecting X-Men books long before films started in 2000
I don't like spamming comments but you already saw my other one and I don't want to edit it again lol The men in black and Kingsman are based off of comics marvel owns(owned?), so if you really want *everything* (live action ofc animation is... a lot more complicated) then those movies count too
You forgot some movies from your list: 1. Captain America (1979) 2. Dr. Strange( 1978) 3. Nick fury ( 1998) 4. And the three hulk television movies 5. Generation X( 1996)
Yeah, I should have said there was a page 2. I did include those on the next page, but my bad for not calling that out. You hit most of the others, plus the Spiderman films. Soooooo many non-MCU films. I can't imagine a full watch of them all. But I suspect several will appear in Secret Wars, so we better get our VHS tapes out! Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!
Hey! I figured out the exact year that Cable's future happens. In the a behind the scenes video of Deadpool 2, the year displayed on the holographic wall of Cable' apartment is 2054. So it`s not 2068. I left a screenshot in my "community" if you interested.
How interesting! The 2068 year came from these quotes: DeadPool: Betcha 50 years from now we're bestest buddies Cable: 50 years from now you're dead. Your entire generation f***ed this planet into a coma." Perhaps Cable was just rounding to a nice number when it wasn't really 50 years in the future? Fascinating. Regarding Logan, where did they indicate the X-23 kids were filmed in 2026? I don't remember that, but I' haven't seen the movie in awhile. Thanks for sharing all this helpful info!
@@AbitofEverything4U In the scene where Logan and Charles are watching the recording on the phone, it says "Alkali-Transigen 2026-12. Date: August 1, 2026". Given that the same footage appeared in The New Mutants, it suggests that the film takes place no earlier than the second half of the twenties.
@@AbitofEverything4U I also have a theory that The New Mutants takes place in the same year as Logan. A calendar hangs in Ulyana's room. The page points to February, the 1st is Thursday. I checked all Februarys after 2025 and found out that February 2029 also starts on a Thursday. So, The New Mutants happened in 2029. Maybe it's just an old calendar hung purely for background. Again, this is just my theory.
Yeah, I was unsure what to do with those, as they are Marvel properties but I don't think they tie in with the comic universe, for example. But I'm glad you mentioned them as I will include them in future videos. Thanks so much for watching and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!
23:00 That's the prequel problem. Dead characters will have a orgin and make you thing, does it even matter? I'd say yes. A story is a story. Almost every major Star Wars character dies eventually and we still love to get stories with them.
Yeah, good point about prequels in general. This particular situation made me laugh, though, because the creator was literally trying to find a meaningless place to put his story and was saying up front it would all be wiped out. It just seemed like a strange way to pitch the story. On the other hand, Rogue One was likely pitched as "haven't you always wondered how they got the Death Star plans? Let's tell that story." That seems alot better than "I know you don't want us to make a TV show as you are focused on the movies, so let us find a spot where everything is meaningless and then we can play around there and you'll just wipe it all out in the end". Both situations are the same result, but the pitches are very different. Just made me chuckle.
Been listening to a lot of your videos and your positive attitude about all these movies is really cool to see that’s why when i heard 15:46 i started laughing 😂 so hard cause not even the most positive of attitudes can make that movie not bad.
Too funny! Yes, I really do try to be positive...but man, that movie is a tough pill to swallow. I remember being so excited about it when it came out. And it has some very enjoyable moments...but overall...whew...just not good. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your feedback. Really appreciate it!
@@AbitofEverything4U Definitely has enjoyable moments in it as a 9 year old that movie was cinema to me lmao so it remains a guilty pleasure. I appreciate the replies to my feedback bro keep it up the great content.

I think putting these after Loki makes a lot of sense. I’m planning on doing a rewatch of the whole MCU so that makes a lot of sense. I want to get the most out of the rewatch so how would you recommend to watch the pre-Disney+ shows eg. Agents of Shield and Daredevil?
Great question about the pre-D+ shows. I am planning on doing a timeline video for those soon. Likely after Quantumania comes out. So I'll go over a suggested watch order for those as well. Thanks for asking about that. Should be pretty cool to see it all laid out!
Yeah... when ‘Secret Wars’ gets closer to release, someone needs to summarize all these “multiverse movies” cause I’m not going to watch them lol! I recommend to watch all the X-Men movies (even ‘The New Mutants’), Deadpool movies, Fantastic Four movies (not the 2015 one), the entire Sony-Verse (Tobey, Andrew, Venom, Into the Spider-Verse - and unfortunately Morbius)... now the rest? Not so sure...
Right...there's a lot of movies out there and most are...well...not very good. So I think you are smart to be very discerning on which you devote your time to. I think I've seen almost every one of them, and I'd sure love my time back from watching most. Ugh. But it does make the MCU look all the better!
I need a list timeline in order from X-Men movies including Legion and The Gifted because I'm so confused like are these 2 shows canon to the FoX-Men movies.
I did a follow up video, which goes over the entire X-Men timeline, as well as placing Legion and Gifted within it. If you haven’t seen this video yet, it might answer your question: ua-cam.com/video/ouq8Qy3ivFE/v-deo.html
The director of the Deadpool movies & Ryan Reynolds who is a co-roducer on them said have said they take place in it's own Universe. They just make funny the X-Men movie timeline being a big confusing mess.
I've seen so many different reports on those movies and whether they are or aren't part of the overall timeline...i think it would be cool to have them in the same universe, due to the easter eggs connecting them to the other movies in the timeline. But I agree, it's a mess no matter how the timeline is laid out. Sigh.
@@AbitofEverything4Uthat's the nature of the Fox X-Men timeline I mean we have two different versions of Trask in the timeline. The one we say in (The Last Stand) & the one from (Days of Futures Past) one is from 2006 and the other is from 1973.
Oh, man! That map would make the X-men timeline look sane. I am considering trying to tackle the DCEU timeline as it closes down and the DCU starts up, but I fear I could lose my sanity in the process! 🤣 Thanks for watching the vid! Really appreciate it!
34:16, you have not understood what a multiverse is, you should not wait for a character film from another Marvel universe to appear in the mcu to say that it is canon, no no, this saga of the multiverse gives us made a big revelation of the fact that absolutely all Marvel films and series are canon to each other even if their characters never appear in the MCU (all of them since the 1940 live action captain America serie)
Excellent point!. I 100% agree on that. And that's why I did indeed include all of those movies and shows, since any of them could appear, but by definition they are all canon even if they don't appear. Thanks so much for your feedback on the vid. Really appreciate it!
LOL! Yeah, I'm with you on that. In concept, Fury's Big Week is a cool idea, but when you have to retcon 4 movies multiple times to make it work...yikes...it ain't a pretty sight anymore. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!
Great catches...I've updated the document here and it includes Blade: The Series and Mutant X: drive.google.com/file/d/1lM1rXdIC18w_pdqq7WmlfARp-PjEYYK8/view?usp=drive_link. I admit that I don't know much about Night Man. Is that considered a Marvel character?
@AbitofEverything4U - Not an MCU character. At least, not yet. But as much a Marvel property as Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Transformers, and Beavis & Butt-Head

Wow, I think that's a really interesting watch list. I see the theme you are going for, where you watch things that directly tie into each other, such as All Hail the King right before Shang Chi. I suspect that would be alot of fun to try. Thanks so much for sharing your watch order. Really appreciate it!
Yes, good point. I was waiting to see what the TVA did with DP's time travel shenanigans, but yes, at the of DP 2 I suspect he created multiple branches, with the most important one being killing the lame Deadpool from Wolverine: Origins and setting up his coming back to save Logan. I can't wait for DP 3. It's gonna be amazing! Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!
Yeah, I need to do an updated vid that is solely about the X-men timeline, but the first part of the timeline was in this vid: ua-cam.com/video/NnK0FRx8-R8/v-deo.html. It covered Sony and Fox all in one vid. I'll be doing a more detailed timeline for the X-Verse soon!
Yes, sorry that I didn't make that more clear. I'll be honest, the X-men timeline is...well, challenging. So it's really hard to pin things down. But in the timeline I put together, I am including all of the seasons of The Gifted, as they happen fairly close to each other in a back to back sequence. Let me know if that helps. Thanks so much for watching the vid. Really appreciate it!
I thinks it’s set in the 1990s because Charles said he was in world war 2 which ended in 1945 and after that he met Gabriella and had David and David has said he is 35 so it’s set in the 90s or 1986
Yeah, it's a tricky one to place. I think I was assuming David was in his 20's, but now I'm not sure why. Do they give his specific age in the show? I would think the show is set no later than the 80's since Charles had David shortly after the war, so if it's 1947 when David was born, then if David was 35 in present day, that would make present day would be 1982. So perhaps it's set in the early 80's?
@@AbitofEverything4Uit is set in the 90s because after rewatching the show in the first season they mentioned a red hook incident which is probably referring to Jean when she went to go look for her father in Dark Phoenix which is set in 1992 but they probably couldnt get Mcavoy for their show since the movie executives were really against letting them have Charles appear in their show
Good point...yeah, that reference seemed to be placing it in the 90's. But it's strange that David's age didn't add up to anything later than the show being in the early 80's. The timeline was definitely all over the place with that show, but I sorta wonder if it was intentional. Almost like they didn't want it to be pinned down to any specific timeframe and thus make it feel otherworldly in that regard.
I’ve seen some bad films in the last year but Dark Phoenix was one of the worst. Up there with Ghost Rider, Ghost Rider Spirit Of Vengeance, Fantastic Four 2015, Howard the Duck, Daredevil, Morbius and Elektra. Yes, I watched those all those films in the last 12 months. Please send help.
Oh my...you are amazing that you watched all of those films and are not institutionalized. That is quite an impressive feat. Hoping for a speedy recovery!
I love The Gifted. I especially love that Emma Dumont’s Polaris is like a mix of Fox’s Magneto and MCU’s Wanda with how her powers look and works. But I agree this timeline is messy 😂 But with all the X-Men properties available to use in the MCU, which actors do you think they’ll bring back? I would love Famke Janssen back as Phoenix and have her fight our Scarlet Witch 👌
Yes, I thought Polaris was the star of the show for sure. Would be cool to see her come back for Secret Wars. And I agree, a Famke Janssen vs. Wanda battle would be insane! Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your feedback. Really appreciate it!
Interesting question...based on how he had memories of both the original timeline and the revised timeline, I guess he did sorta live through the past twice. Good point!
Okay but where does X-Men the animate series, X-Men evolution, and Wolverine and the X-Men take place? And when do I watch the spectacular spider-man tv show? Just kidding. I really appreciate you mapping out this video, some of these movies are great and it helps start a new fan and make them into a marvel completionist. The X-men timeline is really messy, I would love for Disney to remaster these films to fix their continuity with added scenes, updated CGI and maybe some deep fake technology to better bridge the inconsistencies between the supposedly interconnected franchises. I mean Bill Duke and Peter Dinklage look nothing alike, the best the could do is some ADR to change Trasks name in X-Men the last stand. To be fair continuity in movies prior to the MCU wasn't great, just look at the Superman, Batman, Alien/Predator films, or Planet of the Apes films. But there's a ton of other films with plot holes when you look at those franchises as a whole. I really like the idea of the X-Men films being after Loki, it sets them up to lead into Deadpool joining the MCU with his use of the time machine he obtain in Deadpool 2. Do you think it's possible Legion is in the MCU since it doesn't really fit into the other X-Men timelines? And at the end of Fantastic Four 2015 when Reed is pondering what they call themselves all they have to do is add an end credit scene where they flash the Essex corp logo and now they're in the XMCU.
Oh and I love the idea of the video for how the Ang Lee hulk could/couldn't fit into the MCU. Maybe if you wanted to expand on that idea you could do videos about the personal timelines of characters in the Marvel multiverse. Maybe take us from the hulk to the Avengers, agents of shield references, age of ultron, Ragnorok all the way to She-hulk. Maybe you can follow other characters who haven't been big movie anchors like Tony, Thor, and Steve but have appeared in other movies/shows who might be difficult to follow like Coulson, Natasha, Spider-Man, Rhodey, Sif, or Happy. Mapping out their personal timelines.
I will call Feige the master of all that he surveys if he finds a way to tie in the X-men animated series into Secret Wars. Wouldn't that be insane? I love your idea of Marvel fixing the plot holes in the X-men movies. Wouldn't even be that hard, as many of the inconsistencies can be fixed by changing a line here or there. You raise some great points that several other movie franchises have a mess of a timeline. Just shows what a genius Feige is. Love the idea of Legion somehow being brought into the overall timeline. I don't know if it's possible, but it would be cool if so. As for the 2003 Hulk movie, you may inspire me to work on that. It feels like they dropped alot of breadcrumbs between the two movies, but then walked away from it in the end. But I think it would be fun to explore. And the idea of following the personal timelines of some of the characters would be fun. It really is amazing how Marvel managed to keep the stories going in between the major movies for several characters. Great suggestions. Really appreciate you watching and leaving your thoughts!
Multiverse of Madness Professor X has the hoverchair, suit, and music from the cartoon, but he is British, so I think there's a 50/50 shot that 838 is, if not in the X-Men animated universe, a very similar one. I mean, if you go to all the trouble to get Patrick Stewart back for the role, it would feel weird to tell him to do an American accent, so to me that doesn't sway it one way or the other.
That's a good idea. I do think the watch order will change again soon with Deadpool, as that movie may pull in even more movies to watch. But I agree, I should put my recommended watch order out on the google drive. Nice call!
I made a sheet like this to help my friends keep track of the MCU along with me in the right order. It includes all MCU movies, Disney+ series, Netflix series, special presentations, one-shots and bonus content like The Daily Bugle and WHIH Newfront. Then there's another page for Tobey's Spider-Man, Andrew's Spider-Man and the SSU. And yet another for the Fox X-Men universe (both timelines). And it has a last page for news, leaks and spoilers.
@@KKPlaysGD i’ve seen something similar to that but all those timelines really should be combined as they all take place within the greater multiverse not to mention spiderverse and ssu content, as well as potentially the 90s animated series
Yeah, I'm sorry for the confusion on that. I did actually include Generation X on the next image, but I should have included it all in one image. The next image mentions Generation X, the live action Spider-Man, the terrible Dr. Strange movie, the even more terrible David Hasslehoff Nick Fury, and more! Anyway, thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!
For myself I put every movie that contradicts one other into another new universe. The timelines are just to messed up. Why not havining just five or so Fox universes and every single one has Hugh Jackman Wolverine variants anyways? Just because you didn't see it, it doesn't mean it didn't happen. Maybe just a variant of a movie happend in that timeline. I mean DC did it as well by having always a new Bruces parents killed everytime a new Batman movie comes out...
Interesting thought! Yes, I could see a scenario where the easiest path forward is assume there are several timelines for Wolverine to avoid any inconsistency. But it does seem the writers/producers/etc intended it to be one timeline (with the reset in DoFP, of course) and thus have the movies all tied together. So I tried my best to present that option, but daaaaannnggg...it ain't easy! Great feedback as always. Really appreciate you watching and sharing your thoughts!
Yeah, I’ve always said there was just a movie, and more than one actually, that we never get to see in between dark phoenix and the end of future past where it had the events of Jean grey coming back, which would be just like the comics, cuz she and everyone always comes back lol.
Well said! I agree...it sure seems that way to me, too. Would make a ton of sense and would bridge the gap between Dark Phoenix and the altered DOFP ending.
Why do you think they call him Logan btw? Cause his name is always James Howlet and they never show a middle name i always assumed it was his middle name but they literally never talk about it or mention why they/he calls himself that
Great question. Honestly, even though I have read X-men comics for years, I didn't remember that answer either. This is what I found from some research. Long story short he forgets his name is James for a while and his companion Rose, to protect his identity tells everyone his name is Logan. So it's not a very exciting reason, but that's it in a nutshell. I hope the address that in the upcoming MCU movies with him in it at some point.

Yeah, I definitely agree that most of those multiverse movies are just not good at all. Really a bummer. But it also shows just how amazing of the job Feige is doing.
Legion...definitely not canon. Gifted...I think it is canon, but it's part of the timeline that was erased, so in that regard it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things...but it is as canon as the original X-Men trilogy, for instance.

- Blade: The Series (movie continuity)

Fantastic additions. I added them all to the Google Sheet and to the Multiverse Timeline Image!
It's just how Wade sees them, young at heart, full of youth energy ✨
I think if I'm showing someone the Marvel movies/TV shows for the first time, I'd do it in this order:
-Sam Raimi's Spider-Man
-Marc Webb's Amazing Spider-Man
-The MCU in chronological order up until Avengers Endgame (maybe including the Netflix and ABC shows)
-Loki S1
-What if? S1
-All the other non-MCU movies in their release order (Snipes' Blade, Fox X-Men, Ang Lee's Hulk, Affleck Daredevil, Punisher 2004, Nic Cage Ghost Rider, Fox F4, Into the Spider verse, Venom, etc, depending on how many make it to Secret Wars)
-Rest of MCU, again in chronological order
Yes, I love that order. I think that works really well. I really like the idea of holding off on the non-MCU movies until after Loki and What If. Thanks for sharing your watch order. Really appreciate it!
@@AbitofEverything4U not gonna lie but I prefer to think that Loki’s Multiverse theory only affects the MCU timeline where as the Fox Xmen/Pre MCU and the SonyVerse (Tasm/Venom verse) have their own sacred timelines but are not controlled by some dumb inter dimensional companies.
@@warsthemarvel8608 Will be interesting to see if Deadpool 3 addresses the different types of time travel. Should be an awesome movie for sure!
@@AbitofEverything4U oh definitely
Oh so xcellent of you to make this. Legion was top notch xmen fun
Yes, Legion was alot of fun. So trippy, and kept me engaged the entire time. Plus it had a good ending as well. Very well done!

HI HI HI I love your vids!!!!
Thanks so much!
For post-DoFP issues I keep this rule in mind and also add that Deadpool is set in the late 80s/early 90s (Always strange, but Deadpool himself says that the timeline is messed up), so the new timeline would be:
- 1962: First Class
- 1973: DoFP
- 1983: Apocalypse
- late 80s/90s: Deadpool
- 2018: The New Mutants
- 2029: Logan
After which 2 ramifications take place. The new timeline would be:
- 1991: Deadpool 2
- 1992: Dark Phoenix
- 1992: Deadpool 2 Post Credits
Deadpool travels through time causing ramifications:
- Timeless: Deadpool 3
Fascinating theories! One thing is certain...the X-verse timeline needs a ton of explaining (such as you have done a great job of providing) to make any sense out of. I just don't get how they managed to make it so confusing with so few movies. Oh well, they were fun to watch regardless of the wonky timelines.
@@AbitofEverything4U actuly first class is the film which caused most problems.days of future past did best to merge all films together before basicly erasing them as Kitty pryde makes clear to wolverine much of franchise will be erased except for his memory of them.
@@chrisroberts246 I would argue the real film that broke the X-Men timeline is X-Men Origins: Wolverine
I did include in the video the quote you mention in your comment, but other quotes seem to indicate that Gifted is in the original timeline such as this one:
Matt Nix said, "I was just the guy that came in with the best idea for staying out of the way of the movies, which was, 'Hey, remember in Days of Future Past how they go back in time and then there's an anti-mutant dystopia in the future and then in this time, it looks like our time?'"
Using that era as the setting for The Gifted meant that nothing that happened would affect the movies: "Just give me the years in between, and then my show will get erased, it doesn't matter," said Nix. "It doesn't touch your movie timeline, because it's the timeline you erased. So just give me that, and then I'll do that, and I'll sort of show how mutants came to be oppressed, and then I can stay out of the way of the movies."
That's part of the frustration of the X-verse...if you read three different quotes they are saying three different things. Sigh. But either way, it seems to fit nicely in the original timeline, so I personally like it there. Thanks so much for watching the vid and sharing your thoughts. Really appreciate it!

If it ends up as a video that is hours and hours long I would love to see what movies and shows you would make if you were in charge.

Even with your timeline organizing skills, the X-Men timeline is still a mess 😂 Good job
Sigh...yeah, that universe is just such a bowl of spaghetti. I tried my best, but dang, it is just so confusing. Thx for watching!
I imagine when in the Avengers 5-6 Chris in the role of the old Cap to meet himself in the role of the Human Torch. It will be a masterpiece!
Yes, that would indeed be very cool! Holding out hope for that meeting!
This fits with post DOFP characters being born sometimes decades later
But then again, it is also in character for the deadpool films to just ignore that continuity and highlight the mess one last time before it erupts

I feel like the "not tethered" part of the New Mutants quote meant, in the same universe but not connected to it, like no direct references that sugget it'd be in the same universe
For completionists' sake, I wanted to add to the that the 70s Captain America actually had 2 movies; that in addition to Generation X, there's also Power Pack, which is even more obscure but technically had a TV movie which served as a pilot in 1991; and that there was Blade: The Series in 2006. But honestly, all of these are extremely obscure and usually don't count when talking about the core Marvel movies or TV shows. To me, the animated movies and shows have a much better chance to feature in Secret Wars than any of these or the ones you mentioned in the "Watch these entries as desired" part, except for maybe Japanese Spider-Man and the 70s Hulk which already have or will have slight references (Supaidaman in Across the Spider-Verse and 70s Hulk as a reference in She-Hulk)
Overall, good to hear how both of these shows connect (or don't) to the larger X-Men universe.
Oh wow...that's a fascinating theory! I'd be down for that, if they go that direction. Love it!

I agree...trying to follow all of Deadpool's time shenanigans is definitely headache inducing. That said, can't wait for Deadpool 3. Gonna be amazing!

33:55 So I'm not crazy! As a kid i was so confused as to whether or not the first Hulk movie was connected, they kind of danced around it

Oh, I like that idea alot! I agree, it would be very cool if Legion was directly tied into a branch of the X-men timeline!
so i am going to try along with watching netflix marvel this viewing of X-Men-First class,Origins,X-Men/X2/The last stand,Gifted seasons 1and 2,DOFP the rogue cut,Apocalypse,Dark Phoenix,Legion seasons 1-3,Deadpool,new mutants,Logan,Deadpool 2.note all the time travel shengins and deadpool mentioning wolverine's death in breaking of fourth wall is why I say view deadpool 2 last.then whatever next deadpool film is called which likely leads to secret wars and possibly destrucon of multiverse and creation of just one timeline going forward.
Wow...that's going to be quite a marathon. Should be alot of fun!
I love your vids they are really underrated!!!!!😍😍😍😍🥰

Would you count Big Hero 6 as a multiverse film as it is based off a marvel comic and has an appearance from Stan Lee
@@maskerriz2616Now that would be so sweet if so. I'd love for Legion to be part of the main timeline!
100% agree!
@@benjaminhuether3846 How fascinating. I didn't know about that. That's a really fun little easter egg!

@@AbitofEverything4U It felt almost like a soft tie in to the OG X-Men so Maybe between X1 and X2
Good placement. I suspect that's what they were going for with the show, tbh.
after rewatching s1 of the gifted on hulu i say pretty easy to view the gifted between the wolverine and days of future past.only real problems are newspaper articles on von struckers.but far more to connect gifted to original timeline.with legion the problem with trying to tie to eather one is from what i heard about Xavier in final Season.otherwise due to the noah hawley comments you found i would had put it in eather original timeline before mutants were well known or revised tomeline before 1973 events of days of future past.now red hook incident in episode 1 of legion would connect it to dark phoenix since that is where jean confronted X-Men and police outside father's home however mutants well known in 90's in new timeline.it's best to gi with lauren shuler donnor and jeph loeb and say it's stand alone universe.

And the footage of the X-23 kids was filmed in 2026 (according to Logan). Therefore, The New Mutants takes place sometime AFTER 2026.
How interesting! The 2068 year came from these quotes:
DeadPool: Betcha 50 years from now we're bestest buddies
Cable: 50 years from now you're dead. Your entire generation f***ed this planet into a coma."
Perhaps Cable was just rounding to a nice number when it wasn't really 50 years in the future? Fascinating.
Regarding Logan, where did they indicate the X-23 kids were filmed in 2026? I don't remember that, but I' haven't seen the movie in awhile. Thanks for sharing all this helpful info!
@@AbitofEverything4U yes, but Wade was the first to mention 50 years. Cable replied that he was dead in 50 years, as by 2054 he was already doing.
He forgot Men In Black, Kick-Ass, and Kingsman (yes they are Marvel)

@@Richmond.Reviews Yep...it's over half a year of entertainment!
Yeah... when ‘Secret Wars’ gets closer to release, someone needs to summarize all these “multiverse movies” cause I’m not going to watch them lol!

Thanks so much. Really appreciate the positive feedback!
Thanks, don’t think Quantumania will help my sanity in the slightest lol.
At this point, our brains are so fried that nothing may help!
Did logan live through the past twice?
@@benjaminhuether3846 It would be very cool if the X-men animated universe was 838, or a very similar one. Fingers crossed!

New mutants should continue
Yeah, it would have been great to have seen the full trilogy!

@@AbitofEverything4U here is thought about legion maybe legion in final season meeting xavier in past is legion traveling to other universe.Noah hawley has said legion connected to X-Men films but i am not going to tell you why.however even with that it still murcky.hawley said legion takes place before mutants known to general public which would mean original timeline and as one has pointed out here retro fashions and techicologys would tie it before original trilogy.on other hand as one has also pointed out legion season 1 makes refernce to red hook incident which would tie it ti dark phoenix as it was in red hook jean fought X_Men and attacked police.at samme time sector 8 i believe it was secret group after legion seems more like something out of revesed timeline.Hawley back in 2017 said he talked to bryan Singer and Simon Kinberg as he was devolping and writing legion pilot.this is around time kinberg was writing dark phoenix.so it is totaly believable to me red hook incident was meant to tie things together.also in s1 when there is vision of xavoer in wheelchair in past in mind they used same wheelchair from Apocalypse.X-Men is my favorate comic book prioperty.i am what could be called old timer lol as i am 49 and read and collected comics before films started and watched 90's show during original run.so i try to keep track of these things.you alertd me to check up and find matt nix's interview where basicly it is said gifted takes place between the wolverine and dofp.and honestly it works very well there.comics today are joke.ask those who read comics in 80's,90's,and early 2000's and they would never think X-Men turned into today like team fighting for world that hates and fears them and allegory for acceptance turned into supreests having own island nation.
Yeah, it's a tricky one for sure. Would be cool if they told us the definitive answer some day!
Where do the inhumans fit?
Great question! In fact, I did a video on that very topic. It is quite interesting indeed and gets into the details behind the Fox / Marvel spat. You can find it here, if interested: ua-cam.com/video/o_k7z97xd94/v-deo.html. Thanks for asking!
I have already seen all those first group of additional movies and most of them aren’t great
Yeah, I definitely agree that most of those multiverse movies are just not good at all. Really a bummer. But it also shows just how amazing of the job Feige is doing.
Simple: Legion and Gifted are non cannon.
Legion...definitely not canon. Gifted...I think it is canon, but it's part of the timeline that was erased, so in that regard it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things...but it is as canon as the original X-Men trilogy, for instance.
