As you mentioned Tim, I’m a satisfied customer of the Edge Tamers. On the farm I have more issues with wind and drifting, so I mostly use them like you demonstrated in this video. With them on the loader, and the box blade for clean up on the concrete, makes for a great solution for my situation. I have a 4 in 1 bucket on my 4052R and in the past, generally opened the bucket and use as a snow pusher. (With the rock and dirt in the Spring🙁) The one thing I didn’t get a chance to try with the Edge Tamers, was to see if they would fit on the grader edge with the bucket open. I doubt that they will, but that’s OK as they work great! Hoping to catch up with you next week at the NFMS. Blessings to you and the “Super Trooper” 😉

I love edge tamers, just bought a third one to even out my loader bucket better. R2 manufacturing was awesome cause they contacted me immediately asking me if buying only one edge tamer was possibly a mistake, I explained to them I already had 2 and just wanted a third for a few uneven areas in my gravel drives. Nice to see a company that is looking out for their customers.

As a guy who lives in NE Arkansas where we only get 1 or 2 snowfalls a year (if that), the Edge Tamers are the perfect fit for my 1023E on our chat driveway. Great product!

I love the Edgetamers. Thanks for this video. I was considering other options, but I’m sticking with these on my 3025e. Btw, I plow a path across my yard to my barn and to my propane tank. Minimal to no yard damage. I live near Lake Ontario and get a lot of lake effect snow.

I bought a pair of the bolt on ones after your last video on them. I tried practicing when they arrived, and I had the same results as you did with no snow. It did pull up some gravel. But once we had snow they worked fantastic in the driveway and on the lawn.

I love my Edge Tamers. Makes plowing with a bucket so much easier. I also use them to plow a path through my yard from my barn and I have had no lawn damage at all. Great product. I would also like to add they are a great company. The 3" were back ordered so they sent me the 4" cast at no additional cost.

I have a set of Edge Tamers, though I don't use them for snow removal (pretty infrequent here in the Sunshine State!). They do work great on grass for scooping up without digging in.

I have used the edge tamers for two years on my 2025R and they do a great job and would recommend them for a gravel driveway. I also added the edge tamer extenders to them to be able to bring in long pieces of wood to the shop to cut up for firewood. They act like very mini forks and make it easier to carry them.

Love my Edge Tamers. I bought a pair in the summer of 2019 and used them that fall to pick up leaves to dump on a brush pile. Somewhere along the line I lost one. I was sure it fell off when I dumped a load of leaves. I searched and searched - even used a big magnet - to no avail. Late this fall, I burned the third brush pile on the same site and when I decided to clean it up and bury the ash, etc. I miraculously found my missing edge tamer! The paint was a little scratched up and even slightly singed but I put it on along with it's mate and they work great again. I'm thinking of getting another set so I have 4.

The Edge Tamers have been a lifesaver for when I have to do snow removal on my gravel driveway and my neighbors driveways. Purchased a set for my Branson 2400H when you did you first video of them back in town. With the rear blade and the tamers for the bucket I'm set. Thanks for showcasing a small USA company.

One of the first videos i watch of yours was you demonstrating the edge tamers with your daughter a fews years back. I went a bought a set after watching it,and use them more for gathering leaves rather than moving snow. They do great in both instances. I hope you bought some glove warmers and heated jacket for Christy. Maybe a Milwaukee sponsor in the future.........

I bought a set of Edge Tamers before this winter. They finally showed up in December before any snow. (Covid delays I'm sure) They definitely are a big improvement over just using the bucket only. They worked so good I didn't even bother with the 6 foot scrape blade. I did have a few piles of stone but nothing major compared to years past without them. Cleanup of the stone took less than 20 minutes with a rake compared to hours before the edge tamers (I have a large & long driveway) so I have zero complaints. I'd highly recommend them. I bought them after they were featured on TTWT.

I installed two of the Edge Tamers on my JD 2025R to remove light or heavy snow from our large stone driveway and parking area for our farm stand. They simply work GREAT! Besides snow removal, we use them to move wood chips, compost and dirt that’s been delivered and dumped in the stone driveway or on the lawn. You don’t pick up stones or dig up the stone driveway either.

Great video Tim and Christy! Tim, in Nov, 2020, I bought 3 of the EdgeTamers for my JD 4400 after watching one of your videos and used your code! This past fall I made our gravel turnaround area larger and the gravel is still somewhat loose. The edgetamers have worked great! No stones whatsoever in the grass. I use them on the straight away (175’) as well and push all the snow out to the ditch near the road. I even make paths on either side of the driveway to make the drive way nice and wide for the next snow.

I settled on a pusher as my day-to-day best option given the size and shape of my space.
However I do have a pair of edge tamers as well and am happy to have them in the quiver, especially for the price.
When I first got them I made a test by clearing a nice little road around my garage through a good depth of set-in-place older snow. Probably 18" to 24" deep in the field but with much larger and more dense banks at the edge of the driveway which needed to be busted through as well. I was amazed at how well they worked and how little damage I did to my lawn in the process.
In my experience it's easier than falling out of bed to absolutely maul the lawn trying to eyeball a project like that with the bare bucket.
They are also a big help if you have a pile of debri on grass in the warmer months.

I started with 2-3" on my 53-inch bucket and after trying them I added a third. There warning about over tightening, sometimes has me retightening during use. This summer my walnut trees produced so many nuts that several limbs came down. I made a game/loader training out of picking these limbs up with the edge tamers. I might have left a few divets in the back yard but nothing like I did with the pallet forks.😁

I had never heard of the edge tamers before. I bought my tractor 3 years ago because we kept having large snowfalls in our area . Had other needs for the tractor as well, but was really looking forward to having it to clear my driveway and to help my neighbors . 3 years later, we just finally had our first substantial snow this January that made it worth even using the tractor . Found a variety of Edge Tamer's on Amazon, but they had to do with Hair care .

In Idaho I usually use my bucket and rear blade for snow. This year it was bucket and 3 point snow blower. On the long driveways I was able to get the snow away from the road and it didn't drift right back in. I also used the blower on gravel parking lots and it worked better than I thought it would.
It's all about getting the shoes adjusted just right then you can adjust your cutting edge height with the top link.
I still have my bucket to back drag in front of a garage and scrape out ice on the concrete. I probably cut my snow removal time by 30%

Same issue with the ice for me in Michigan. I got them at the end of the summer and use them to move leaves. They worked great for that and they work good on my gravel drive to the barn, but they leave quite a bit of pack down snow behind, and it ends up ice the first time you get above freezing for very long. I kind of like it if they were a little bit thinner. Maybe they can come up with a clamp on skid shoe that sets off to the side of the bucket like a snow blower so you can get your edge a Little closer to the ground.

My EdgeTamers just arrived. They were hit hard by the current logistics issues and had a long backorder. They released the new version after I ordered and because they are the sort of company that wants to do right by people, they sent me a set of the new ones in a size bigger as soon as they got them in rather than making me wait any longer (they did email so if the version mattered to me I could have requested otherwise). That was dollars out of their pocket to do right by me. I can't wait to try them out.

I have an older Deere 2210 (Sized about the same as a modern 1025R) and the Edge Tamer was one of my first accessories. They truly work very well. I'm from Central Iowa so we do
see a few significant snows each year. There is one draw-back to the edge tamers, and that you have no option for back dragging. If that is not an issue for you, then I truly see no downside to the edge tamers.

I just got my edge tamers the other day and look forward to using them. I live near Vancouver Canada and we don’t get a lot of snow, but when we do it can be a nightmare. A few weeks ago we got a dumping and I left my 260B backhoe on for ballast because I was expecting a melt and some sloppy snow. I also have fluid in the rear tires of my 1025R and it was too much ballast weight. The snow didn’t melt like I expected and even with a full bucket I had steering issues. I bought 2 of the new style cast 4” edge tamers and they look great. The only downside is that since I live north of the 49th parallel they were a little over $200 after $55 each and shipping and duties/border fees. Still a lot cheaper than the $1800 (plus taxes) for the frontier AF10F loader mounted blade with manual angle adjustment! So my friends that live in good ol’ USA, please enjoy your lower prices and free shipping...it’s literally worth it’s weight in steel!

I usually keep my edge tamers on all winter. I took them off because I had to clear some drifts from my wife's business building, and I couldnt believe how bad the bucket tears into the ground without them. Definitely a must have for clearing snow on uneven ground with the bucket. Can't wait to get a real 3rd function plow for my tractor. The bucket works, but it's far from the best tool for the job.

Hi guys - really enjoyed meeting y’all at the Farm Machinery Show in Louisville last weekend. The blade attachment we use for snow removal on our 1025R bucket is called “The Snow Edge” from Ratchet Rake. It’s a large clamp-on piece with a plastic leading edge (that is replaceable) and works great on our blacktop and doesn’t leave any marks. About $350 plus shipping. In the two years I’ve owned my 2038R I never considered edge tamers until we got a big dump of snow in Medford Oregon around Christmas. Normally it snows and melts and you don’t have to fret it. This event lasted 2 weeks and gave at least 15-20” of snow. My first attempt was with the bucket held about 1-2” off the ground but was tough because of the changing angle of the ground. Edge Tamers would have been nice. Later I used the rear blade with varying success but better than the bucket.

What i found makes pushing snow easier in float is to have the bucket angled down because the edge tamers will make it glide over any hard pack when the bucket is flat. When it is angled it will cut through the hard pack

Agree 100% on buying from the guys that came out with them.
I love that the money is going to regular people like you and I rather than a large company that just copies whatever they see
Is snow clearing the only application or do you find other uses for them?

I agree with your assessment Tim. I resemble this remark - many of us just get caught up in the desire for new toys, like blades and blowers, when we would be fine with a bucket and Edge-tamers. Some live to regret the new toys when we realize they’re in the way, and we really don’t use them enough to justify the cost. Now that Im retired, I’ve learned to check my emotions before buying anything. :-)

They are great looking products, I made three bucket shoes for my 2032R this year and I was able to remove snow from my neighbors gravel driveway. In the past I was not able to do their driveway. Tim, you need to buy Christy a heated jacket.

Just got my edge tamers. Blew the front diff on my 700 Grizzly ATV and got those to use my 1025r as a backup until I can get my ATV fixed. Have a snow pusher on order so who knows, maybe I'll switch to that over the ATV. Not sure.

I got a pair of the cast Edge Tamers for my Kubota BX1880. I haven't had a change to use them yet.. as it hasn't snowed in MA yet.. but I'm looking forward to giving the a try. :)

Hi Tim. My edge tamers cost $100 for two. Ofcourse that was 2 seasons ago. The way my driveway is a blower attachment isn't what I could use or justify the cost. That float position really works with just a little down tilt on the bucket. Enjoy them. I know I do.

The edge tamers work well but I do have an issue with them here in Montana. I will be talking about it in my next video. BTW thank you for the TTWT discount.

I finally got to use mine last Feb 2-3 when we got like 13” of snow in the mid west. I really like them for our gravel drive however I might need to get a third edge rammer for the middle of my bucket. I have the outside ones moved in about 10” but I still lost a bunch of gravel.

@@TractorTimewithTim I was pushing it down the driveway and across the gravel road, now that the snow has thawed I’ve got to get the rake out and try to get the majority of the gravel out of my neighbors ditch 😬 I didn’t even notice it when pushing it, it’s hard to tell with that 5 series tractor

Your banter makes me smile. Great video! I'm going to look up the edge tamers. Would be great if they made a poly version. We are looking for cost effective option for our loader to use on our parking deck.

I definitely like that with my snowpusher you don't have to dump the bucket everytime. I love that 3046r. I'd love to see a video sometime comparing the 1,2, and 3 series and the kubota.
