As a player who enjoyed flood escape 2 since alpha version. I tried making fe2 maps since 4 years ago. i tried several times and did best. But i faild to load maps and whitelisting. I was going to quit roblox due to my schoolworks. Yesterday, i watched your tuitorial by accident and i got a last hope. After i checked my own map is loaded and worked. I felt a lot of achievement and I wrote this comment to give my thanks for your tuitorial. Now, i can make my own maps and i got a reason to keep playing fe2 cm. Thank you lightning Thank you.
ohhh wow i ran across this video... this is a good tutorial but i should point out these tips: - make your own assets as much as possible: leaves room for your originality and style - I recommend using JC's FE2 Map Creator plugin. It features an instance tab to directly get fe2 objects into your place conveniently as possible and has timelines feature that is easy to understand (compatible with all fe2 timeline features). The plugin also provides part and instance count and button count to show whats up. - Working on the layout first is the best piece of advice i can give. It allows you to experience the full gameplay while still not having to worry about detail. It also allows you to detail much more evenly. Also a tip where ive seen most complaints: "Why when i whitelist my map and load it, it says Asset Not Trusted"? A: The bot hasnt gotten your model yet. Concluding, this is a really well made tutorial, i cant believe that this hasnt been recomended to me earlier lol
I agree with making your own assets, whenever I use other assets, it's either in the map kit or it's a really basic thing I don't bother wasting time for something someone already made
This is a very helpful tutorial! I’ve recently been inspired to try and create FE2 Maps and after seeing this video, alongside many others, I’ve gotten more excited to begin working once I get a solid idea and layout for the map :)
This video is awesome, there’s just a few things i wanna reccomend. 1. The F3X Building Plugin Makes it so that you don’t have to drag stuff out of the building model, and into workspace. To set up just get it from plugins, and then, while you’re mouse is hovering over the map model, move your mouse to the top left of your screen, where the name of the map model is, click on that, and then you can move any part inside the map model. 2. If you want to use one of the in game (non community and permanent) map’s ost, go to “FE2 OST ID’S” and then, go inside the script, choose the ost you want, then paste that in bgm. There’s also a few miscellaneous bonus tracks you can add ;) Great Video Lightning, Glad to see you make another one of these :D

This is SO USEFUL!! I'm currently making my first map using the knowledge I obtained from your old tutorials, it's doing pretty great. Although I wish you would include how to make multiple Interactives work in the next part since I thought you could just group the Interactives together and put a single XFrame's Value to that Group. Took many trial and error to figure it out. 😅 Anyhow, good vid 👍

this is a very good tutorial and helpful for newcomers that want to make their own map, slight mistake though: _Detail was deprecated and now to make detail you have to add a boolean attribute named “IsDetail” to your designated details

Can I make a whole area of the map a variant? Like buttons, interactives, button folder, stuff like that? Cause if I can I could make the greatest classic flood escape map ever.
@@SilentVX theres a chance that your screen is too small, so the pop-up when you save to roblox isnt completely on your screen. for example my screen used to be too small to fit the whole pop-up, so the bottom part where it says Cancel or Save was cut off. try resizing the Asset Configuration pop-up to see if it shows up.

Hi, I’m Crazyblox, today i’m going to show you how to get started with making your own Flood Escape 2 map with Map Making Kit provided in the video description. Once done creating the map, it can only be tested at FE2 Map Test, so make sure you publish as a model marked for sale and send it for whitelisting at FE2 Map Test, of which the link is also provided in the video description. In order to get started in making a map, you need to get familiar with all the major game objects - Spawn - Exit Region - Exit Block - Buttons - Water - Settings - Event String Spawn is where the players will start on the map. It is recommended to keep the size of the spawn the same as the template. The camera faces where the front side of the spawn part is facing at the start of a round. Exit Region is where players need to go to finish the map, and is activated once all buttons of a map are pressed. Resize this to the area you designate for the goal, and make sure it is CanCollide false. Exit Block is a part used to seal the Exit Region ag from the rest of the map. Make sure this is CanCollide false too. The game will make use of this part later. Buttons are a core mechanic of Flood Escape 2, and can only be activated in numerical order. Buttons are named by their order, and trigger events marked by certain values. Fade, Appear, Fall, Sound, and Delay. The behaviors listed are self-explanatory. You can link the triggers with a specific button, by adding the same number to the trigger's name, as the button you want triggering it. Water, is used as a prefix for parts to make Flood Escape 2 see liquids in the map. Water has to be transparent and CanCollide false, with a top-side facing up, as the mesh is squashed with a top-face for visibility whilst in-game. Make sure to give a different name to each, typically by number, so they can be controlled later in Event String. The settings folder, is used to determine the name of the map, the difficulty, and who it is made by.

Great updated tutorial! But one issue regarding to saving models to Roblox. The blue text that allows you to overwrite existing models is missing.

got a suggested plugin, FE2 Map Creator, alows u to place the mechanics without needing to dupe them from the map kit

You need the Seasoned Player badge to whitelist maps, and you can't load maps without whitelisting them.
