Blimey, MY tyres never go back on that easily! Are mountain bikes generally easier than road bikes? A good tip I learned way back is, when removing, keep the tyre and tube oriented the same way. E.g. valve down, same sides up. Should you then find a small hole in the tube (bubbles in water) then it's easy to find and inspect the corresponding place within the tyre (e.g. I had a sharp sliver of metal in the tyre that could not be felt, but I knew exactly where it must be by positional comparison with the tube.
