On another note you liked the horn and the open baffle, now put those together and it equals Pure Audio Project Horn 1. Then add left and right subs to complement the lower frequencies that’s my set up. You should try it sometime. If I have to judge for the video sounding, in my opinion 1st and 2nd are very equalized (Klips and Dali) I apreciate very much the clear voices and how the Dali’s speakers driven them to a first place and the deep and sweet bass. I wish I’ll have the oportunity to travel to Milano to hear in first person that jewels! 😊
Over my TV speakers at first until Klipsch came on and I had to throw the headphones on and start over. Those Klipsch seem to have this beautiful dispersion pattern. The horns? And The Sound of the Valve had some pretty defined treble if not just a bit too loud. That's my top 2. Glad you're feeling better now.
Excellent tour of the Milano Aidio show, thank you for sharing. I' m very familiar with the Wilson Audio Sasha DAW speakers featured in the second system, as well as the Vivid Audio speakers in 1st.
Of course the Jubilee and McIntosh was exceptional.That system as well as the large JBL speaker system requires a humongous room.

The Alieno and Vivid Audio, with whatever that recording was, sounded so real over the headphones that for me it was the clear realism winner through a cell phone. I know people say there's no way to hear everything through a UA-cam video, but I'm here to say that it's very clear that all of these sound different and that they mostly sound like big HiFi speakers. But I think I could easily be fooled into believing the first room was a live performance through my headphones (Koss Pro 4s - don't laugh until you've tried them) on this video.

Heard the Klipschorn AK6 few months ago and i was super surprised how they perform much better than lower level Klipsch models and tbh i preferred them to Wilson speakers, Nice video Guido and i hope you are feeling better now.

@@sv1201 their insistence on that dome working in tandem with a ribbon "super tweeter" which actually introduces yet another crossover frequency at around 14khz, which is just completely pointless.
The introduction of yet another crossover frequency only further complicates, deviates from the source, phase shifts etc etc.
There is no reason why a single super dome can't cover from 2khz all the way up to 50khz.
This dual tweeter module with two tweeters is a huge weak point of Dali. Yet they market it as a strength..!?
Geez! I guess you guys really know Dali. This is the first time I auditioned them. I must admit that these Kore do have some problems but the results are stunning whatsoever. They could probably make things much better from what I am reading.

I don't doubt for a second that Dali's flagship speakers are insanely impressive heard in person!
my mom had a pair of giant Dali Lektor, I couldn't even lift it off the floor if I tried.
They were impressive too, but they somehow lacked a natural timbre, they had that tizz-tizz treble.

Yes!!! The Klipsch Jubilee, I think, is one of the very top speakers in the world right now, and they are an absolute bargain at 35K a pair. I have the privilege to hear the Jubilees at my local dealers and they are my #1 favorite speakers on the planet!!!

Nice and as always pleasure to watch. Living in SC, USA now but have had the pleasure living in Jesi for 2 years - Luca and Siena always was favorites of mine. What amp would you say was the best?
Siena is probably the most beautiful city of Tuscany IMO. Hard to say about the amps. In systems you don't know, it's difficult to establish what is the actual contribution of the amp. I liked the one paired with the Wilsons and the triple one with the Quasar of the sound of the valve if I have to mention something.
For the money and the sound, I think Klipsch will be the winner in this case
Most of the other speakers were just pushed to close to the back wall for their size, and the everest isn't big enough to fill a room that size.
I agree that the Everest would have performed much better in a smaller room.

Last November (2022) that huge room where JBL played at this spring edition of Milano HiFi killed the TAD flagship loudspeaker as well. Maybe the only loudspeaker that could fill that room with success is the big Genesis Prime/+ system.
Living in NYC I was shocked by the video of the passengers on the train. It was quiet, everyone behaving & looking normal. A far cry from the trains here. You could be killed at any moment. Its wild, loud, Scary looking people, homeless in the train cars. You do not dare to look at anyone in the eye. Europe is so much more civilized!

I visited NYC in 2000, didn't feel unsafe but very dog eat dog, was happy to leave.
Usually the trains are filled up during working days but yes, no creepy people also because there is a double check at the stations and on board.
Every time I have been to NYC and took the train I never feared I was going to "killed at any moment". In the US at least, one is far more likely to be killed by an angry spouse/lover with a gun than a homeless person on a train.
For me the highlight of the video was learning you live in Lucca. One of my very favorite places.

thank you for the video, Guido. yes, klipsch very good good sound , but I prefer more bass. Dali kore and wilson are at the top for my tastes (the analogue chain given by buscemi hifi was fantastic) . Jbl for rock is outstanding
This Klipsch Jubilees work better when closer to the real wall, it must not be the corner like with the Khorn but use a bit of back support and you will clearly hear down to incredible 18Hz at minus 3dB. I have those now called „Underground Jubilees“ since 2008, different horn type bass just down to 40 Hz but the similar K402 horn with a TAD 4002 driver. Klipsch tweaked the newer version of the K402 a bit plus adding an innovative second phase plug to spread the high freq. of the Celestion driver. Quality and energy of the bass so much superior and it is not to compare with any directly radiating driver which sounds more „electrical“ and not so much „acoustical“.
Over my headphones, Klipsch for the win.

Usually speakers response should be optimized on axis So it would be natural to me point them towards the sweet spot
They are slightly toed in. Probably because they must point to a wide area where the public sits.

To get a constant and wide H and V dispersion across the all audio range is usually a challenge
Of all the speakers in the video the Klipsch and the big open baffle caught my attention deeply It seems to me that high efficiency is really what to look for in speakers
Many nice low efficiency speakers need huge amps and anyway they fail to provide high SPLs with low distortion ... especially below 100Hz
I was coming from small nice bookshelf ... then i had the opportunity to listen to a pair of big JBL speakers It was a revelation indeed The sound was more like the real thing by far I was missing a lot I was moved Unfortunately they need space to show their abilities And neighbours could be an issue

It also depends on the size of room, I am always amazed how well my little LS3/5a sound in a small room, keeping the fastness of a horn loaded bass in a huge room like my LaScalas and Klipsch Underground Jubilees.

Europe sure looks a lot nicer and cleaner than America. I don't know how many of us from here ever make it over to there, but I'm sure it's not even 1 in 4. Most classical music is really old music. People don't embrace the old here as much. Classical music and Jazz doesn't sell well here. Only childrens records sell worse. This is a society where The Osmond Brothers sold 10 times more records here than The Allman Brothers. Interests in Culture is severely limited here. Hearing speakers like that, set up in such a favorable environment is something that few of us ever get to hear. Most of the people into high end audio that I have known, come to love their systems and don't change anything in it for a very long time. Except maybe the phono cartridge. Which doesn't do the high end much good. High end audio hopes for the type that upgrades equipment every few years. In my whole life I have only personally met one person like that. From what I've seen, I am surprised that it gets by. Maybe in the big population centers like New York and L.A., there are enough of them to keep the boat afloat. There hasn't been a major format change since the cd, (except for streaming). Maybe an old format like turntables and the lp will serve as the bridge, until some new technology will hit the market. There doesn't seem to be much going on. The stuff they show at Audio Expos is usually beyond the common man's pockets. We need something new and affordable to stir things up and create some excitement

Those Klipsch speakers are very efficient and those McIntosh amps are over kill (wrt. power).

Yes I agree but keep also in mind that high efficiency is only one parameter. Klipsch horn speakers also thank it if the amp can handle the impedance. It is not that difficult but also not as simple as e.g. a BBC like speaker.

I visited all the rooms and Sonus Faber were in several rooms. That is probably because there isn't anything very new under the sun now.
The Klipsch did sound natural.
Was Daniel Hertz, the new Mark Levinson company at this show, specifically the "Maria"? All In one chassis, DAC, preamplifier, amplifier, headphone amplifier, active crossovers, bluetooth and WiFi. As stated by them "Daniel Hertz is the only company that understands the difference between analog and digital audio, can measure it, and has a solution to deliver pure analog sound from standard digital formats including streaming". They are in Venice Italy. From the sound of it I can replace my entire system for this one box audio system. Do all other systems go by the wayside? I'm just trying to understand, I have only read minimally about this.Can you shed some light on Maria?
I was just sailing through rooms. A $30k do it all isn't very attractive to me. But that is just me.
@@anadialog The Maria 50 is $9,999 alone w/150w in 8ohm and 300w into 4ohm. Far less $$$ than my separates. Would replace my Auralic Aries G2.1 streamer, KTE May DAC, Supratek tube preamp, Classe Fifteen class A power amp. I don't have a headphone amp. From what I have been able to gather, all Maria models/features/hardware are the same at the low-end model which is unlike any other manufacturers offerings, only difference between them is the wattage and multiple internal amps for bi-amping if that's what your speakers require. Isn't this how it should be, instead we buy in where we can afford @lower-end models that are subpar, far less in sound quality, I want the top-end hardware I just can't afford it and have to settle for low-end hardware/features. Here it's just a choice of speakers and a matching power rating, it's up to you what level speakers, either theirs that you can afford or simply keep your own. Even with their stand mount package Maria 50/Eva 2-way speakers at $13,499 it's far less $$$ than what I have purchased as separates and speakers. I'm expecting this to go far beyond what I have currently built. Your thought are appreciated.

First of all I hope you'll get well soon, and that it's not the nastyness that still goes around.
A recording made with a phone and uploaded to UA-cam is not something I'll make any judgements from. Not even wearing the best set of studio headphones I have. What you'll hear under those circumstances is the character of the acoustics of the room where the recording was made, the degradation of the sound from all the electronics it passes through, and finally the character of your headphones. One would have to be rather blank to even begin to think that anything useful could be concluded from that. Besides that there's the problem with different rooms one aren't familiar with, different gear, different cables etc. which makes it pretty impossible to make a fair judgement even being at the spot. Perhaps a few hint's can be picked up, but that's it. When it comes to picking a winner there's only one good way, and that is bringing the speakers home in your listening room and connect them to the gear you intend to use them with. And make sure that returning them is an option because one can certainly run into a surprise or two.
Having said that here's my thoughts now that you ask.
I would rule out Klipsch and JBL right away unless you live in a mansion. Personally I'm not into horns which is another reason for me to rule them out. And I must admit that I can't help but think; Don't they smell just a tiny bit of midlife crises? But that thought might not be fair, so never mind that part.
Though I'm a sucker for closed construction with it's fast precise bass, Dali made the ultimate dealbreaker by placing the tweeter between the other units. For a a great natural height perspective the high frequencies that carry's the most room information has to be able to go where it needs to be, and it can't do that when the tweeter is placed between other units. Since I'm not into extended signal path's or IC's, DSP is not an acceptable solution or way to compensate in my book. But that's of course just my personal opinion - Not the law by any means.
The speaker I would consider bringing home as the first for evaluation is the Wilson. This is a speaker that has a size that will fit the most in houses/listening rooms, but it's also build from all the healthy speaker construction principles.
The next would be the Vivid Audio. I'm skeptical about the side firing subs, but otherwise the construction makes sense. The tweeters are placed correctly just as on the Wilsons, the sound doesn't have to travel very far along the baffel, and the shape is awesome to reduce diffraction and standing waves.
The Sound of the Valve would be my third pick, but it would mainly be out of curiosity and not be a speaker I would keep.

You don’t need a large room for horns - the Japanese understand. Also, if you haven’t listened to a modern horn speaker, put away any preconceived notions and you may become a convert.
Those Wilson’s, while small, need a lot of room.

I could write a novel about the benefits and limitations of horns, but I'm pretty tired right now, so you get the short version. As you know there are different types of horns and horn constructions, but the type we're talking about here spreads the sound in a cone shape dictated by the shape of the funnel, which goes for modern horns as well as those a hundred years old. That's the basic law of nature for the design and not a preconceived notion.
I can assure you I have listened to a lot of horns ranging from those in Victrola's to the most modern constructions (including Klipsch).
My ears tell me that the sound from speakers (especially the higher frequencies) has to spread as free and immediately as possible to sound as natural as possible, and to get the best perspective. For that reason horns doesn't work for me due to the cone shaped way they spread the sound, and though I absolutely believe in keeping an open mind, the dry fact is that the basis for becoming a convert doesn't exist.
If one likes the sound of horns there's no problem using them in smaller rooms, but they have to fit the room. Therefore they are made in different sizes. Cramming a pair of speakers like the Klipsch in the video into a smaller room I'm pretty sure even the Japanese will agree would be a crime. They need space to breathe and come to their right.
Of course the Wilsons also needs space. It's not at speaker you smack up against the wall in a room you wear instead of walking into. But it is a speaker you can successfully put in an average sized listening room. And the way they are build and the units are placed in them is exactly what works from experience and make them the ones I would try out first from those shown in the video.
There's a million theories and opinions when it comes to speakers, but only one tool to tell what's right. I trust that tool, and so should you. If horns works for you then listen to them and not to me.
And now I'll go to sleep.

Was back in Denmark recently and had a chance listening to Klipsch Cornwall’s for first time - was actually positively surprised though agree listening home would be the best though unfortunately impracticable where I live as no real audio dealer in the area (Greenville, SC). Restarted my audio journey during the partial lockdown and find Guido’s channel among the best and most qualified to watch even if some equipment pricing is beyond my reach. Again a big thanks to Guido creating this platform adding another dimension to the never ending journey.

I didn't heard the Dalis but I liked all the rest at Di Prinzio's, very nice surprise the MBLs. The only other room I enjoyed was Audio Note UK, small room, minimal setup, I liked it a lot. See you in Munich?

I've just read the review of the Klipsch AK 6 In hi fi news , UK edition and the reviewer said some people will love them, others find them too coloured for their liking. For such an expensive loudspeaker the measured frequency response is abysmal. Just proves measurements dont tell the whole story. I've heard lowther speakers, utilising a single full range driver, measured awful, sounded amazing. Horn loading seems to open up the sound.
Yes, and I find the whole full-range, crossover-less, gorn-loaded philosophy very interesting.

As I said the comparison isn't a fair one. I just stated my impressions based on the presented systems and room acoustics. The JBL Everest where undertone in that large room. But I do stand for the sound of horn speakers like Klipsch.

I agree, but that is how shows are. These are just impressions. As I stated in my final comment this is not a fair comparison, but it's fun to do. For example I am sure that the JBL are right at the top in the correct room and probably also a different amplification.
